Jennifer Lawrence is set to upset a LOT of people suffering with gluten-intolerance out there!

In her recent interview for Vanity Fair, in which she opened up about those nude snaps for the first time, Jen also speaks about what she’d like to find in a boyfriend.

During the conversation, Jennifer branded a gluten-free diet as “the new cool eating disorder” saying that those who follow such a diet are saying: “Basically I just don’t eat carbs.”

Ouch, Jen – those comments are going to sting a lot of people!

We wonder if Chris Martin has finally found his soulmate in Jennifer after years and years of uber healthy eating with Gwyneth Paltrow…

While many people today suffer from gluten intolerance, Jimmy Kimmel recently did a sketch in which he quizzed people on what gluten actually was (it didn't go well)…and as Jimmy says himself: "Some people can't eat gluten for medical reasons, but a lot of people in Los Angeles don't eat gluten because someone in their yoga class told them not to."

We think Jen agrees with you, Jimmy!

Lauren Conrad is currently honeymooning in Italy following her dream wedding to William Tell two weeks ago.

The star shared a glimpse of her honeymoon with us last week when she showed off an Italian phrasebook, but it looks like she is getting into Italian food too –yum!

Lauren shared a photo of herself with a huge pizza and a glass of red wine, captioning the photo: “post-wedding diet.”

Not. Jealous. At. All. Okay, maybe a little.

Seems like the perfect diet to us, Lauren!

It looks as if she and her new husband are having an amazing honeymoon – wonder if they’ll stop off at George Clooney’s Venetian wedding?

We are constantly bombarded with amazing before and after shots in ads online – usually trying to sell us a dodgy diet product.

Before you get too jealous however, some Instagrammers have revealed just how easy it is to fake these kinds of shots.

Using a combination of lighting, angles and good old fashion sucking in their stomachs, you can look like you’ve been in a six month bootcamp in just seconds.

The fake transformation shots were started by a Melbourne based fitness trainer called Mel, who wanted to highlight the difference between the media images we are presented and normal bodies.

“I want to make it clear that there are definitely some very impressive, genuine physical transformations out there,” Mel explained.

"What I do take issue with are the transformations that are manipulated with Photoshop, professional lighting, postures to degrade or enhance their look, pro tans, sucking in or pushing out a bloated belly or flexing muscles vs. not flexing to obtain an optimal look."

What Mel wants to promote is lifelong health and fitness, not the crash diets and exercise regimes that unrealistic before and after shots encourage.

“Forget about the quick transformations and focus on a life of healthy eating, well-managed stress levels, quality sleep and plenty of movement. Spend time with people who have similar goals and values and take time to appreciate yourself the way you are right now. Don't beat yourself up if you eat a cookie, just enjoy that cookie and everything else life has to offer."

Bravo!

A new study by the journal Public Health Nutrition has revealed that people consume up to 200 extra calories when they eat out instead of eating at home.

The study looked at the habits of 12,000 people aged 20 to 64, and found that the days they chose to eat at a fast food restaurant, they consumed an extra 194.49 calories, saturated fat by 3.48 grams, sugar by 3.95 grams and salt by 296.38 mgs.

Going somewhere a bit fancier wasn’t any better either, in fact it was worse! People who dined at a table service restaurant consumed an extra 205.21 calories, and with higher intake of saturated fat by 2.52 grams and salt by 451.06 mgs.

Well, there go our dinner plans!

A study conducted over the course of a day has found that a lot of people think that eating a gluten-free diet, even if you’re not a celiac, is healthier and can help you to lose weight.

Word to the wise: it’s not, and it doesn’t.

In fact, eating gluten-free foods when you don’t have to can actually be bad for your health, as a lot of gluten-free foods are not fortified with essential vitamins and minerals. People with celiac disease are advised by their doctors to balance their diet with a vitamin supplement.

A study by nutrition experts at the University of Florida has found that one third of 97 participants believed that eating gluten-free was healthier. Also, 60% of participants thought it could treat medical conditions, and 32% thought that doctors prescribed gluten-free eating for weight loss.

Just eat your sandwiches, guys. Get them into ye!

Being on a diet is a testing time for most women, however some of us take it harder then most. If the Kardashians can do it, why can’t we?!

1. Grocery Shop
It's only going to be healthy and organic food from now on. It looks like a cucumber, but it doesn’t taste like one. What's a "coorget?"

2. Gym Gear
Well we can hardly go to the gym dressed in sweatpants. The gym is no longer just a place to work out, it’s now a social scene and everyday is a catwalk!

3. Hairstyles
A fringe may have been the worst idea ever.

4. Where To Start?
OK, you’ve made it this far, you have to now look like you know what you’re doing. We'll just swan over here. Looks easy…

5. Already feeling skinny
It may have only been one day, but we feel like we've lost weight already! Pass the doughnuts.

6. The Pain!
Did someone say endorphins? Where?!

7. Why Is She Here?
Why is she at the gym, she’s already thin?

8. Why is No one Else Sweating as Much?
Not sure whether to cry, puke, faint or poop. Surely we're not the only ones.

9. You Did This to Me!
One month in a relationship and you've come to this. He will suffer.

10. Rice Cakes
Do they count if you cover them in chocolate spread?

11. The Gym Clique
They prance around in their little sports bras looking fantastic…one day you'll be their friend. One day.

12. There are No Substitutes for Crisps/ Chips
Feck off with your sweet potatoes, they are not the same. Are carrot sticks, salty fried potatoes? Then no, no I do not want some carrot sticks.

13. Hot Boys at the Gym
Why, why do you have to be here? Surely there’s a beautiful men’s club meeting you should be attending. You can't see us like this.

14. Hating Your Already Fit Friend
The one who’s trying to support you by keeping you motivated. The one who uses herself as an example of greatness and states that she feels rotten without a workout every day…Clearly she hasn’t heard of the feel good, chicken fillet roll, with extra mayonnaise. Use all your energy to avoid her instead of meeting her for one hour, three times a week.

Experts have warned about how the 5:2 diet may make you live longer, but it could also leave you more susceptible to infection.

The diet, which involves eating next to nothing for two days during the week is said to lower blood pressure, but scientists from the University of Bath have been testing on fruit flies over the last year, and they’ve found that the diet can lead to a 20% increase in infections.

The leader of the study Dr Nick Priest, a lecturer in biology and biochemistry said:

“We know that certain stresses such as starvation or exposure to pathogens can extend life and increase fertility, but we have found that ironically this has a trade-off in terms of immune function.

“Our findings are not all that surprising. We have known for decades that starved mice are more likely to succumb to serious infections.”

“But, there has been a lot more interest in the short term benefits than potential long-term costs.”

“There are clear health benefits to diets such as the 5:2 regime, but we need to bear in mind there are side effects.

“It shows that even the fountain of youth should come with a warning label.”

Many women go to great lengths in order to achieve perfection for their wedding day.

Lauren Conrad, on the other hand, seems to be taking it easy and isn’t allowing the pressure of her big day to get on top of her.

The former star of The Hills, who is set to walk up the aisle to fiancé, William Tell, spoke to People magazine about her fitness regime: “I’m not a huge fan of the gym to be honest. When I have to go to the gym and put an hour in, I’m just staring at the clock. I just like getting out, like going on a hike, going on the kayaks, going for a run on the beach.”

Lauren also opened up about treating your body right, and how she achieves body confidence: “I really love food. I’m not good at dieting. I try to make smart choices but just eat a little bit less. I am all for body confidence, but I am even more for living a healthy lifestyle. Treat your body right, exercise, eat healthy and then feeling confident in your bikini.”

Wow – we love this woman’s healthy outlook on getting fit and keeping healthy. So positive!

Gwyneth Paltrow has been tucking into burgers and pizzas for her latest blog. The star, who is usually on a strict macrobiotic diet, is taste-testing the various food trucks in Los Angeles. She posted this photo along with the caption: “That was, in fact, a bad ass burger”

gwyn

Gwyneth has been a vegetarian for over 20 years after Leonardo DiCaprio planted the seed in her head:

“I hung out with Leonardo DiCaprio when I moved to New York. He was vegetarian and he’d talk about how dirty meat is and how bad factory farming is.”

However, it wasn’t until 1999 when her dad was diagnosed with cancer that she went really extreme with her diet:

“When I turned seriously macrobiotic, it coincided with my father having been diagnosed with cancer [in 1999]. I felt I could heal him by proxy.”

A lot of people may be able to relate with Gwyneth in this case. We often cling to unrealistic ideas at times of stress. It’s good to see the star out having fun again though. If only someone would pay us to taste test all the take-outs in Ireland – what better excuse to ditch the summer diet?!

Looking for ways to improve your health without having to sign your life away to a gym or endure awful, apparently healthy, meals? Well, Tesco’s newest service should be right up your street.

To help customers improve their health and wellbeing, Tesco have launched their healthy living service, Tesco Health & Wellbeing.

The 100% free to join service is in stark contrast to their original paid subscription Tesco Diets – the #1 rated online weight loss service – which they have stopped taking subscriptions for.

While the brave move to stop the paid service will obviously have an impact on revenue, it is in keeping with their campaign to help more customers improve their health and wellbeing.

Through an interactive digital platform, Tesco Health & Wellbeing aims to help customers be healthy, improve their overall wellbeing and enjoy life more. The website, iOS and Android apps include all the must-have tools of Tesco Diets plus much more in the area of wellbeing, fitness, nutrition analysis, healthy recipes, personalisation and expert advice.

Some of the many highlights of the service include the ability to plan or track in the food diary, get healthy meal ideas (this will definitely come in handy), order groceries online and discover new exercises.

The service is easy enough to use –  all you need to do is visit www.tescohealthandwellbeing.com or download the app from Apple or Google play store, sign up and fill in your personal settings.

Having a healthy lifestyle couldn’t be easier.

If you read the back of you packet of crackers, you might be horrified to find out that they actually contain a good deal of fat. However, before you banish them from your life completely, read this to find out the difference between good fat, and bad fat.

Good fat
Yes, your crackers have fat in them, but if you look closely, you’ll see that only point something of a gram of this is saturated fat (that’s the bad stuff). The rest is essential for a healthy diet (within reason).

These good fats also go by the name of polyunsaturated and monounsaturated fat – it’s essential for bodily functions but your body can’t produce it itself, so that’s why you need to include it in your diet.

These fats help to build cell membranes, the exterior casing of each cell, and the sheaths surrounding nerves. They’re also vital to blood clotting, muscle contraction and relaxation, and inflammation.

You can find these fats in things like vegetable oils and fatty fish (salmon, mackerel, herring and trout).  You’ll also get what you need from nuts and seeds.

Bad fat
This is the delicious kind of fat, also known as saturated fats and trans fats. It’s found in buns, cakes, butter, cheese, meat, fast food and just about anything that’s really tasty. You should reduce this kind of fat from your diet as much as possible, as it can lead to blockages in your arteries and high blood pressure down the line.
