Fans of Disney have countless theories about how each of the films and characters are actually all connected in some way.

One popular theory is one which connects that characters of Disney’s mega-success Frozen with the story of Tarzan.

The idea is that Anna and Elsa’s parents actually never died. Instead when they were shipwrecked, they ended up on an island this is where their mom gave birth to Tarzan.

So, Tarzan is actually Anna and Elsa’s younger brother.

Chris Buck, the director of Frozen has now come out as saying that he believes the theory could actually be true.

In an interview with MTV News, he said that while the connection may not be official, in his mind he considers the characters to all be one big happy family.

Chris explained his own version of the theory on Sunday saying:

“She gave birth on the boat, to a little boy… somehow they really washed way far away from the Scandinavian waters, and they end up in the jungle. They end up building a tree house and a leopard kills them, so their baby boy is raised by gorillas.”

Sounds legit, right?

He went on to say that “whatever people want to believe, go for it.” Fully encouraging fans to continue with their interesting and sometimes bizarre theories he said “that’s the spirit of Disney.”

Excellent news, so we can look forward to the internet producing more of these fantastic observations:

Ah, that explains it:

We have only just recently gotten over our excitement about Emma Watson playing Belle in Disney’s latest live-action remake of fan favourite Beauty and the Beast.

However, in recent days there has been even more announcements coming from camp Disney that have us all kinds of thrilled.

Prince Charming, as in the Prince Charming, is going to have his own movie.

According to The Hollywood Reporter Disney have bought the rights to the project, fitting, seeing as they are responsible for creating quite the Prince Charming figure in many of their previous projects.

Most details regarding the project are “being kept behind a moat” as of right now, aside from knowing that Matt Fogel write the script. Matt previously worked on Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs, for those non-film buffs of us who were wondering.

We also know that it’s going to be a “revisionist take” on the traditional fairytale.

Variety reports that “the point of view isn’t that of the prince himself but of his brother who never lived up to the family name.”

We wonder, who would be in the running for taking on the role of the family duo?

Considering Prince Charming has had some lovely portrayals in the past, despite his character being just a tad lackluster compared to his leading ladies, the role of his not-so-charming brother opens up a lot of options for Hollywood actors.

We’ve already thought of a few we wouldn’t mind seeing on the big screen.

Nikolai has got the hair flip down

And we know this sibling pairing makes for great viewing

Or perhaps actual brothers?

The Efrons do make a striking pair

We wouldn't be opposed to seeing any of these guys take on the roles if we're being completely honest!

Maleficent, Simba, Cinderella… While these are some of our all-time favourite characters, we don’t quite know if we would be naming our kids after them.

Although, it seems that there is one Disney film that has sparked quite the baby name craze.

For the first time since 1917, the name Elsa has climbed its way back into the top 500 most popular baby names.

According to The New York Times, a total of 1,131 babies last year were named after Frozen’s leading lady.

This surge means that Elsa is now the 286th most common name given to new-born baby girls.

With Frozen 2 having been recently confirmed we can only imagine what number Elsa will be at on the list next year.

Surprisingly, the name Anna only jumped one spot in the overall rankings of popular baby names last year, landing at number 34.

23 years after it was first released, a Sister Act remake is on the way.

Sister Act 1 was one of the biggest box office successes of the Nineties, grossing over €200 million in ticket sales worldwide.

A sequel, Sister Act 2: Back In The Habit, was made just one year later, a Broadway musical followed in 2006, and now it seems we're getting to meet Sister Mary Clarence and co once again.

Writers Kristen Smith and Karen McCullah, the brains behind Legally Blonde, 10 Things I Hate About You and She's The Man have already signed on to create the new film, and we're told work has already begun.

It's unclear whether the new film will be a sequel to Sister Act 1 and 2, or whether it will reimagine the story all over again, but if the writers have any sense at all they'll be begging the films' star Whoopi Goldberg to get on board.

In the original film, which was released in 1992, lounge singer Deloris Van Cartier ends up joining a convent of nuns as part of a witness protection programme. While she's there, she takes it upon herself to revamp the church choir, with mixed results.

Disney are keeping tight-lipped about the plot details for the revamp, so for now we're just going to keep listening to this on repeat:

Lily James has upset many of her fans with a recent Instagram post that has been branded as ‘racist’.

The post saw Lily, who is currently doing promotional events for the Disney movie in Japan, posing in a dusty pink gown with the caption: “’Shinderera’ premiere in Toyko. The final stop on our tour and it was a beautiful cold night, thank you!”

‘Shinderera’ is being widely reportedly as the Romanised spelling of ‘Cinderella’ with this being what Lily was likely referring to, however not everybody saw it that way.

Lily’s ‘Shinderera’ reference was also branded as a joke of bad taste that backfired.

This isn’t the first piece of controversy Lily has been met with since the release of the movie, with many fans blasting the size of her waist which many believed to be CGI.

The live-action remake of Winnie-the-Pooh is coming, it has been confirmed.

Unlike the children’s classic, the movie will be centres around the character Christopher Robin as a grown man rather than a boy with writer/direction Alex Ross Perry taking on the project.

It has been reported that the storyline will Christopher coming back to Hundred Acre Wood and back to his best friend, Pooh Bear.

Winne-the-Pooh is just another in a long list of Disney classics that are being remade with the release of Cinderella just last week.

Beauty and the Beast is also being recreated, with Emma Watson and Dan Stevens taking on the star roles. There is also an ongoing fan-based debate about who will take on the role of Mulan after it was announced that too would undergo the live-action treatment.

We won’t Disney by the time all of these recreations are finished.

In case you didn’t hear the exciting news announced yesterday, Disney’s Mulan is being made in a live-action format very soon.

However, at hearing the news something of a debate surrounding who should play the lead role of the gutsy Mulan has broken out.

While MANY people are petitioning for the part to go to the actress who voiced Mulan in the animated original back in 2008, Ming-Na Wen; other names such as Arden Cho, Jamie Chung, Fan Bing Bing and even Glee’s Jenna Ushkowitz have been thrown into the mix.

Twitter is alight with suggestions for the casting, not long after Disney fans were left delighted with the casting of Emma Watson as Belle in Beauty and the Beast. Fans of the original folklore and movie have been highlighting the importance of keeping the new movie as close to Chinese heritage as possible:

Cate Blanchett does NOT appreciate stupid questions and this interviewer found that out the hard way.

The actress was doing promotional interviews for the newly released Disney's Cinderella recently when she was asked a question that made her get a little hot under the collar.

When asked by The Project's Jonathon Hyla how she managed to keep the cat in the movie on a leashe, Cate reacts flabbergasted, looking behind to her publicist before saying: "Is that your question? Is that your fu**ing question?"

Thankfully, the actress seemed to take it in her stride and even started to laugh at the ridiculousness of it all.
