Disney

OK we all love a good conspiracy theory now and then, but this one is actually TRUE.

According to the director of Disney's Frozen, princesses Anna and Elsa are sisters to TARZAN (mind blown).

Chris Buck spoke to MTV, where he confirmed this theory.

Apparently, Anna and Elsa's parents did not die in the shipwreck they were involved in… they washed up on a jungle island.

The story sort of writes itself from here, but anyway… the former King and Queen of Arendelle make a life for themselves on this island.

Ultimately, the couple end up getting killed by a leopard, but not before little Tarzan is born.

Chris admitted that the concept seems outrageous, but insisted that "In my little head, Anna and Elsa’s brother is Tarzan."

We'll take it.

So, you may have realised it by now… I am a massive Disney nerd.

Seriously, at 26 years of age, I refuse to drink my tea out of a mug that doesn't don my favourite characters.

That's why I am SO freakin' excited about the shiny new range of Disney goods from our pals at Penneys.

They've gifted us with everything from 101 dalmatians PJs, to Chip cups and Minnie Mouse jumpers.

But now, they have introduced a homeware collection inspired by Aladdin and his mates.

What does it all entail, I hear you shouting at your screen?

WELL, you can get yourself a shiny tea pot, in the form of the gold magic LAMP. I actually can't.

There are also some really gorgeous cushions, including one featuring the smiling face of Genie!

Fancy sipping your morning brew out of a Genie head? Well, now you can.

There's also gorgeous bed linen and tea towels for the taking!

Also how deadly is the Genie frame? And those gorgeous coasters.

Penneys, once again keeping the magic of Disney alive!

If you are a massive fan of Cards Against Humanity, then you are in for an absolute TREAT.

The rumour mill has been working overtime, and apparently we'll be getting a Disney version of the game soon.

I cannot even imagine how weird that will get, but I'm here for it.

Disney Cards Against Humanity Soon To Be Released card spread 1

A post on the game's Facebook page, which was very quickly deleted, showed off some of the Disney themed cards – so really, we're just waiting at this stage.

The graphic cards are basically here to RUIN your childhood, and the magic that goes with it.

Some of the violent card options include ‘Jane and Tarzan’s wild jungle sex adventures’, ‘vaginal burns from Lumiere’ and, perhaps the worst of all, ‘Bambi’s dead mother’.

May she rest in peace.

The game already has a Harry Potter version, so Disney does seem like a natural 'next-step'.

While we may not have a palace to decorate, the news that Disney has opened a homeware store got us excited.

From lavish, Minnie Mouse adorned throw pillows to a Pluto-shaped piñata, we're loving every single item we've seen so far.

The store just opened in Disneyland’s Downtown Disney District in California, and Disney fans have been sharing snaps of the new merch.

A post shared by Stephanie Powers (@stephrpowers) on

If you're planning a trip to the Cali park, you'll be able to see for yourself all of the various items on display.

There's even an entire section dedicated just to pet accessories.

The items are also seasonal, and will change as the parks go through their various decors for the likes of Easter, Summer and Christmas.

If you're not lucky enough to be  heading to California any time soon, many of the items are actually available online.

This way, we can still Disney-fy our homes without actually visiting the USA.

With a successful Disney store already on Dublin's Grafton Street, we may have to start a petition to get them stocking the homeware we want.

Beth Louise Carr has such a love for Disney, that she has spent her entire student loan, somewhere to the tune of €26,000, on Disney memorabilia and trips to Disney theme parks.

Beth admits to falling in love with Disney after watching Beauty And The Beast as a child.

The art student has since collected thousands of toys, and has visited Disney resorts nine times all over the world.

Beth, who from her instagram account appears to have a promising career as an artist, has turned an entire room in her house into a fairytale dream land.

The young woman from Sunderland has admitted to having "thousands of Disney toys all over the house."

"I own five Disney outfits, with a wardrobe filled with Disney inspired T-shirts and accessories" she went on to tell the Mail Online.

Boyfriend of the mega-fan, Lee Creighton, believes that Beth has spiralled out of control, and has had to ban her from all Disney stores in the UK.

Despite the ban, Lee has gone to Disneyland in Paris a number of times with his girlfriend, and supports her love of all things Disney.

Beth started her Disney clad instagram three years ago, and it has now gained over 5,000 followers, most of whom appear to be fellow Disney fans.

Beth also told the Mail Online about her reasons for loving Disney, citing a hard childhood where "Disney always managed to put a smile on my face.

Who else remembers the pure excitement of popping that beloved, worn out Disney video in the VCR?

You prayed the video wouldn't get eaten by the dusty machine as your favourite scenes were rewound over and over.

If you were one Disney fan who happened to keep every early variation of the movies – on either VHS or DVD – it turns out that your no-doubt prized collection could be worth a fairly tidy sum.

A post shared by Katie Oxman (@katherinealice) on

There really is a serious market for Disney nostalgia on the likes of sites like Ebay and Esty, with certain collections fetching thousands online.

Both the DVDs and VHS videos could give your daily earnings more than a little top-up but going by some of the collections for sale, the most valuable seems to the Black Diamond VHS Collection.

This rare collection includes 18 animated features all released between 1988 to 1993 for VHS. These editions come in a clamshell case and display a logo in the shape of a black diamond that says 'The Classics' on the spine, according to Stylist

Over on Etsy, a set of 21 pre-owned vintage Disney VHS tapes (including one Black Diamond edition) is selling for an astounding £182,294.74.

Full sets will usually always be snapped up by specialist collectors but you can get lucky if you even own singular videos; a root around on Ebay and you'll see some range from in the sixties to the hundreds, according to The Mirror

Would you dust yours off if you were cash-strapped before payday?

There’s one thing that Disney princesses have in common- and no it isn’t the wonderful, catchy songs they get to sing every two minutes (but that too).

It has been revealed that (almost) every Disney princess wears blue, and the reason behind the common wardrobe trend is incredibly inspiring

Leatrice Eiseman of the Pantone Colour Institute spilled the details on the meaning behind their blue outfit accents.

She told Allure: 'You’re adding a bit of power to the character by giving her the blue.'

Leatrice explained that by wearing the blue the characters are helping inspire young women.

It shows them as a symbol of power and strength, so no wonder e grew up wanting to be kick-ass young women.

She revealed, “It’s a subtle way of saying, ‘“Yeah, but young women, young girls, can be empowered, too.”

Blue is also the colour of serenity and trust, which makes perfect sense because we always feel better after watching a Disney classic like Alice in Wonderland or Aladdin.

Not only have characters like Belle, Alice and Snow White taught us many lessons throughout the years, but they have also altered our moods in the simplest way.

Elsa’s blue cape and Cinderella’s blue ballgown have helped boost our moods, because,  apparently, the colour blue has the power to raise people’s spirits.

We associate the colour blue with the sky, Beatrice explained: 'It’s dependable. It’s reliable. It might cloud up, but we know it’s there.'

'It’s something to look forward to, to see that blue sky,' she added.

We knew Disney movies were good for the soul, and this just confirms it.

If you need us we’ll be curled up under a duvet, watching Beauty and the Beast.

Okay, so when I was asked to review DisneyLife, Disney's new streaming service – I was a tad nervous.

Nervous, why nervous, I hear you ask?

Well, because my expectations were sky high, and I was a little worried my sweet friends at Disney would disappoint.

Spoiler alert: they did not.

Anyway, last weekend, I cleared my not-so busy schedule, and dedicated a full Saturday to the true DisneyLife experience.

The weather was shitty and grey, so I closed the curtains, wrapped up with a mug of tea, and let the magic unfold.

First point of information – signing up is SUPER easy, which is a blessing for impatient humans like myself.

Fill in all your details (name, card number etc), select your adorable character, Minnie Mouse thank you very much, and away you go.

Also, let's talk about the price for a little moment – DisneyLife is only €6.99 a month (cheaper than other streaming services – sorry Netflix), so its a no-brainer.

Next, there were the COUNTLESS choices, I hardly knew where to begin!

Do I go old school and watch The Little Mermaid, or do I embrace the modern world of Disney, and watch Frozen for the 87th time? That's when I realised that the fun doesn't stop at animation, as I scrolled through I saw that SISTER ACT was an option.

Sold.

There were so many amazing movies to choose from, which leads me to the discussion of my favourite DisneyLife feature – the offline mode.

I travel quite a bit, and tend not to love the movies shown on planes, but that is no longer an issue for me! DisneyLife allows you to download movies and shows while in Internet, and then you can watch them forever – No wi-fi? No problem.

All-in-all, I reckon there are a number of days in my future where I will be snuggled up in bed, binge watching Disney movies.

DisneyLife is class. End of.
