Disney

The Lion King is the next up and coming Disney live-action to hit our screens, and though it won't be here until 2019, Disney have already revealed exactly who is on board to voice act in the new flick.

One of the most exciting revelations is that Queen Bey herself is on hand to star in the flick.

Beyoncé has been confirmed to play Nala, while the divine Donald Glover will voice Simba.

As we reported a number of months ago, actors and comedians Seth Rogen and Billy Eichn have been enlisted to play iconic double act Timon and Pumbaa.

James Earl Jones, who originally voiced Mufasa in the 1994 classic, will return to take on the role once again.

Chiwetel Ejiofo is stepping up to the role of Scar.

The film is due for release in July 2019.

We're already ridiculously excited

So, Bette Midler isn't a fan of the rumoured Hocus Pocus remake and our inner 90's kids are crying uncontrollably.

Last month, we reported that everyone's favourite Halloween movie was getting a reboot – and while we can hardly contain our excitement, it looks like not everyone is too thrilled about the upcoming project.

Speaking to People at the Restoration Project's annual Hulaween party, the actress said:

“I know it’s cheap. It’s going to be cheap!”

Adding: “I’m not sure what they’re going to do with my character. My character is very, very broad and I don’t know who they’re going to find to play that.”

Bette played the role of Winifred Sanderson in the 1993 original, alongside co-stars Sarah Jessica Parker and Kathy Najimy.

Mick Garris, a writer who worked on the original Disney Channel film previously said that re-casting the story's main characters would be a “big mistake” – but we're not holding our breath.

When asked by reporters have big the pay check would need to be before she would consider reprising the role, Better simply replied, “no!”

Brb – just mourning the loss of our treasured childhood memories.

You may have realised by now, but we are TOTALLY obsessed with all things Disney (shocking, I know).

Anyway, that has led to a constant hunt for new and gloriously magical products, that just put a smile on our faces.

I don't mean to alarm you, BUT we have found the best Disney related goodies yet – and they're homegrown!

Odds&Trends is a gorgeous company that sells special gift boxes, filled to the brim with Disney goodies, along with other magical things (we're talking mermaids, wizards and unicorns!)

"We met in our home town of Limerick over 15 years ago. Both a bit blunt, both ambitious, and both creative, we knew immediately that we would be close friends," says the awesome Jenny Lang, co-founder of Odds & Trends.

Explaining how their fantastic business idea came about, Jenny said: "With an eye for detail, and over 20 years of online-shopping experience between us, we have always enjoyed picking out the perfect items to bring a smile to the faces of our friends and family."

"And so the concept of Odds&Trends was born, from our belief that giving gifts should be as stress-free and enjoyable as receiving them. Therefore, we've decided to do the leg work so that you don't have to."

Amen to that sister, we thank you in advance!

Magical Friends Gift Box

Odds&Trends was founded in 2017 and since the first day in business, they have been bringing the best selection of products and merchandise to their magical customers.

The best part is that the two gorgeous ladies behind the brand put so much time and effort into ensuring a variety of fantastic items, along with unique limited edition and seasonal items that fit any budget.

"Tell us more, immediately!"  I hear you ask?

Basically, the ladies offer magical themed gift boxes that are filled with gorgeous goodies – like mermaid makeup brushes, Disney princess prints, and even the occasional butter beer!

We're telling you that this is the BEST present idea out there – and we'd like to order 87 boxes.

The best part? These gorgeous goodies won't break the bank, at a very reasonable €22.50!

I mean, kindly shut up and take our money.

Nothing reminds us of Christmas like sitting around the table playing a board game, right?

Sure, eventually someone gets extremely p**sed off by losing, flips the game in the air and the fun is over – but that's just a family story to tell!

Anyway, this year might be the year that NO arguments over a board game occur – all thanks to our amazing pals at Disney.

That's right folks, this year will see the official launch of Disney Monopoly, and we can hardly wait to play!

The counters have had a Disney makeover, swapping the Old Boot for Cinderella's Glass Slipper, naturally enough. But wait, there's also the Lamp from Aladdin, the Circus Tent from Dumbo, and Hook's ship from Peter Pan.

HOW DIVINE?

There's also a tiny version of Snow White's Poisoned Apple, and Beauty and the Beast fans can rejoice as there is a little stack of teacups too – we're swooning!

The game is just like the classic in that you pay bills and taxes and all that other fun stuff.

However, there are cute perks like teaching Bambi how to ice skate, which will help you earn a fortune. So cute.

The money has had a Disney mix up too, with cute little dalmatian paw prints scattered on it, and in true magical style, you'll be playing for castles and cottages, instead of flats and semi-detached homes.

You better act fast if you want to get your hands on one of these babies, as they are limited edition, and cost £27.43 from Amazon

Bargain.

Of course, that means the always-luxurious Kiehl’s products will be even more adorable than usual!

But wait, there's more – 100 percent of net proceeds (up to $100,00) from each item will also help benefit charity, namely Feeding America.

The collection will officially launch on November 2nd, but we're to give you a special sneak peak.

You're welcome.

If you've ever dreamt of being a real life princess who travels the world for a living, we suggest you keep reading.

Disney is currently on the hunt for wannabe princes and princesses to work on its luxury cruise ships in a variety of exciting roles.

From character performers and DJs, to nursery counsellors and housekeeping managers, there's a position to suit every qualification.

Each role will of course require some specific skills, but the most important thing to keep in mind is that all Disney staff must go the extra mile to make the cruise experience as magical as possible.

According to the company's website, the “amazing crew members are a big part of why Disney is known as a world-renowned leader in the entertainment industry.”

“With incredible itineraries that visit exciting destinations around the world, crew and officers can chart the course for an unforgettable adventure with Disney Cruise Line.”

Sounds amazing, right?

Of course it does – travelling the world via the happiest boat on earth – what's not to love?

Well, there's just two small catches.

  1. The roles are based in the US, which means you'll have to be willing to move.

  2. You need to commit to a seven-day working week with limited time off.

But if the idea of being ferociously happy seven-days a week hasn't scared you off, you can apply for a role at disneycareers.com.

All adorable, as you can imagine.

The four packs (the ones with the Mickey mouse ears) are €5, and then the special baubles are €6 each.

Will we be buying every single one of them? Hell YES.

Okay, so we have good news and we have bad news.

The bad news is, Disney is fleeing the comfortable confines of Netflix by severing its deal with the streaming service.

From 2019, US Disney fans will find that their favourite new fairy tales will no longer be part of the service.

The good news is, Disney is taking the opportunity to branch out, and create a Disney streaming service of their very own.

As well as playing host to classic Disney films, the service will host TV shows and ESPN-branded sports.

There will be separate streaming channels for the various TV genres.

Old movies may remain on Netflix, but upcoming Disney movies will probably go straight to the Disney-owned streaming programme.

The service is expected to follow the available on-demand business model, with a monthly subscription service.

Disney previously launched its own service, called Disney Life, in the UK in 2015.

As if the cast for Disney's upcoming Lion King revival wasn't already out of this world,  it now looks like producers may have found their perfect Scar.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Twelve Years A Slave star, Chiweltel Ejiofor is currently in talks to voice the famous Disney villain.

If the reports are correct, Chiweltel will join a stellar cast which already features the likes of Donald Glover, John Oliver and Seth Rogan.

Scar was originally voiced by British actor Jeremy Irons, in the 1994 animated version.

James Earl Jones is set to reprise his role of Simba's dad Mufasa in the remake, Billy Eichner and Seth Rogen are attached to play Timon and Pumbaa and Donald Glover will take on the role of Simba.

Beyoncé is also rumoured to be in the running to voice Nala, although this is yet to be confirmed.

The Lion King is due to hit cinemas in July 2019.

If you grew up watching Disney movies, then you're familiar with the Disney villains.

Honestly, they were some of our favourite characters (because… humour, drama), and we were always a little sad to see them go.

Disney villains all have a few things in common (like, why do they all have English accents?), but one thing we never really noticed was how they all die.

You've copped on now, right? They all fall to their deaths.

So much so, a YouTube video has even been made about it.

We actually think it's kinda smart, because, as Cosmo points out, it deters the blames from the heroes of the film.

Belle can't be with the Beast if he's in prison for killing Gaston, right? They all either fall to their death because they were too clumsy or too greedy.

Also, it gets rid of the bloody mess, because no kids (or anyone, for that matter) wants to see that on screen…
