David and Georgia Tennant's family just got a little bigger. The Doctor Who star and his wife have welcomed their fifth child into their family.

Georgia confirmed their joyous news by posting a snap of David carrying their little one out of the hospital.

The mum also shared a photo of Michael Sheen leaving the hospital with his newborn and joked, “An angel, a demon and a couple of babies. What could possibly go wrong?”

The caption is referring to David and Michael’s show Good Omens, where David plays a devil and Michael an angel. David’s co-star welcomed a baby girl two weeks ago, a baby girl called Lyra.

The Criminal star revealed Georgia was pregnant with baby number five in May. He told James Corden, “Five is a lot. What’s really weird about it is we’re now getting lectures on birth control from our 17-year-old son.”

David and Georgia are also parents to 17-year-old Ty, eight-year-old Olive, six-year-old Wilfred and four-year-old Doris.

At least the parents will have plenty of helping hands at home.

They have yet to reveal the name or gender of their fifth child but we’re sure the parents will pick another adorable name for their son or daughter.

We can’t wait to find out their name.

When news broke that Jodie Whittaker would become the first female Doctor on Doctor Who, most fans rejoiced, hailing the move as an important step for female role models.

However, not everyone was happy about the casting with some struggling to imagine a woman  in a role previously reserved for white, male actors.

Most notably, former Doctor, Peter Davison, who played the fifth Doctor in the early 1980s, has been speaking openly on his reservations about the casting decision.

According to The Guardian, while at Comic-Con this weekend, Peter said:

“If I feel any doubts, it’s the loss of a role model for boys, who I think Doctor Who is vitally important for. So I feel a bit sad about that, but I understand the argument that you need to open it up.”

“As a viewer, I kind of like the idea of the Doctor as a boy but then maybe I’m an old-fashioned dinosaur — who knows?”

He then went onto praise Jodie who is a “terrific actress” and likely to do a “wonderful job.”

However, his previous comments did not go unnoticed and another former Doctor, Colin Baker, was not too impressed.

“They’ve had 50 years of having a role model. So, sorry Peter, you’re talking rubbish there — absolute rubbish,” he said to The Guardian.

“You don’t have to be of a gender of someone to be a role model. Can’t you be a role model as people?”

Peter later took to Twitter to defend his comments saying that he "urged uncertain fans to be supportive about change."

She's the gorgeous 29-year-old actress who earlier this year caught the eye of none-other than Prince Harry.

And while fans had hoped that Jenna Coleman would be playing Doctor Who's Clara Oswald for some time to come, she sensationally announced this morning that she's quit the gig.

Up next? The role of none-other than… Queen Victoria, a formidable historical character better known for her aloof nature, permanent state of mourning, and – it has to be said – her rather large waistline.

But petite Ms Coleman evidently couldn't be happier.

She told BBC One's breakfast show that she now has "four weeks to become the Queen".

She added: "I need to learn to ride a horse, to waltz, play Beethoven."

The forthcoming eight-part period drama follows the early life of Victoria, from her ascension to the throne at the age of 18, through to her courtship and marriage to Price Albert. It is costing ITV some €13.5m to put together.

Jenna has been an on-screen companion to both Matt Smith and Peter Capaldi in her three years with the Doctor – the longest-serving assistant since the series was rebooted in 2005.

A source told The Mirror today: "Jenna clinched the role of Victoria a while ago but it’s been a very closely guarded secret.

"There is a lot of excitement about this series, which has Sunday night written all over it.

"ITV hope the eight-part epic will give them a ratings hit like Downton Abbey."

There are to be even more cast changes in the long running sci-fi series as Jenna Coleman has announced she is quitting her role on Doctor Who.

Jenna – known for her years on Emmerdale as Jasmine Thomas – plays the Doctor's companion Clara Oswald, a role she first appeared in 2012. This years Christmas episode will reportedly be her last.

This comes not long after the recasting of the Doctor himself. Matt Smith stepped down as the Doctor is an episode aired last year, and will be replaced in the upcoming series.

The next Doctor will be Peter Capaldi, best known for playing sweary spin doctor Malcom Tucker in The Thick of It. The new series is set to start on August 23rd.

A series insider has said that the decision was “mutual”.

"It's important to keep the series moving and fast-paced," they explained, "and the time is just starting to feel right and the feeling is that it could be a perfect Christmas storyline."

"By the time she leaves she will be one of the longest-standing companions ever. She has been absolutely brilliant in the role but everyone agrees it is a part that should change after a period."

Jenna said that she's really happy about the move, but for the moment isn't thinking about the future.

“It's one of those jobs that will only happen once – the whole adventure that it brings. The key is not to worry about the future, and enjoy it.”
