Airports can be so stressful.

Whether you're a nervous traveller, a naturally anxious person or simply struggle with crowds and time restraints, the hustle and bustle of an airport is enough to test anyone.

With that in mind, Vancouver International Airport have launched the Less Airport Stress Initiative, which means that those passing through the airport will be given the opportunity to get acquainted with therapy dogs who want to make your life that bit easier.

The group includes two labradors, a Newfoundland landseer, a great Pyrenees, and a shih tzu who have, unsurprisingly, made a massive impression on holidaymakers in the Canadian airport.

Commenting on the scheme, a spokesman for the airport told the Press Association that the dogs' presence has brought a huge amount of reassurance to the public.

“The programme has been incredibly well-received with passengers requesting visits via social media while they wait, and Norman aka #BIGNORM becoming a bona fide rockstar in the process," he said.

While in the company of their minders, the gorgeous doggos are open to pats, belly rubs and general chats should you wish to engage. And we do wish.

And frankly, the idea of taking a holiday in the airport itself is really appealing to us right now.

Judge Judy surprised her courtroom this week after she used a rather unconventional method to settle a custody case.

Viewers of the hit US TV show were left with a lump in their throats after the notoriously straight-talking judge let a dog decided who its rightful owner was.

The case in question saw a woman claim ownership over a dog named Baby Boy after she allegedly purchased him from a woman on the street, however, the defendant claimed the dog had been sold without his consent.

Rather than listen to the back and forth “he said, she said”, Judge Judy decided to ignore all evidence and instead let the dog choose his preferred owner – and things got pretty emotional.

So, if you had could choose one super power, what would it be?

Time travel? Invisibility? The ability to speak to animals?

The last one. Obviously.

Well, according to a new Amazon report, pet translators are not only possible, they could be on the market within ten years.

Futurologist William Higham of Next Big Thing, who co-authored the report for Amazon, said: “Innovative products that succeed are based around a genuine and major consumer needs.”

“The amount of money now spent on pets – they are becoming fur babies to so many people – means there is huge consumer demand for this. Somebody is going to put this together.”

He also referred to research being carried out by Con Slobodchikoff, professor emeritus at the department of biological sciences at Northern Arizona University, who found that prairie dogs had “a sophisticated communication system that has all the aspects of language”.

“They have words for different species of predator and can describe the colour of clothes of a human, or the coat of coyotes or dogs,” Slobodchikoff says.

The author of Chasing Doctor Dolittle: Learning the Language of Animals, now believes his research could apply to other animals and is currently raising money to develop a cat and dog translation device – and we're totally behind the idea.

Just think of all the fun you and your four-legged friends could have together!

If there's two things we love in this world it's dogs and weddings (pizza comes in somewhere too, obvs).

Unfortunately for most of us, neither of those things will ever be incorporated into our working lives.

But now, a woman named Veronica Silva had trouble finding a dog sitter when she was getting married, and feared that her beloved pet would end up alone on her big day.

In the end, the bride couldn't find anyone to mind her precious pup… so she came up with a very smart business idea.

Dog sitting at weddings.

Veronica set up her own company Pawfect For You, and we think it's the dreamiest job in the world.

She takes care of everything that the pet needs on the day, from transport, to cleaning, feeding and everything in between.

Speaking the HuffPost, Veronica said: "I was trying to find a pet sitting service that would take care of our dog on our wedding day, but would also bring JakeBear to the church and venue to be in some of our pictures.

“I didn’t want to ask one of our friends, since they were all part of our wedding.

“I love this, being able to go to couples’ special events where they’re already ecstatic and in a wonderful mood. Having their pet there elates them more.”

Dogs and weddings? Does it get any better?

Meet Lara – a Brazilian rescue dog whose soul is too pure for this world.

It seems the eight-month-old pup is a true believer in 'what goes around comes around' and is using her new found home to help dogs less fortunate than her.

See, Lana was rescued from the streets of Brazil by her now owner, Suelen Shaumloeffel, but she obviously hasn't forgotten where she came from.

In a true act of kindness, the rescue pup dragged her new blanket out to share with a stray dog who had been sleeping on the streets on a cold night.

Suelen had recently bought a thicker blanket for Lana to snuggle up in as the temperatures in the region has dropped.

But little did she know, Lana was actually using her blanket to make sure her new pal had a comfortable place to sleep.

As soon as Sue discovered what was going on, she began to leave food and water out for the stray, even though it would always run when she tried to approach.

Speaking to The Dodo, she said: “I thought, 'How beautiful that she did that for her friend'.”

"My best four-legged friend reminded me of something so important: generosity!"

"She is the nicest little dog I’ve ever met. We forget sometimes the difference we can make in someone’s life. She reminded me of this."

We're not crying – we are absolutely BAWLING.

Whether you're a dog-owner, or just a dog-lover, we can almost guarantee 70 per cent of your camera roll consists of cute puppy pics.

And why not? They're adorable and the world deserves to know.

Well, one girl has taken her doggie photography skills one step further and is secretly replacing her family photos with photos if their dog, Dixie.

Genius, we know.

(Side note: How much does the top right photo look like baby Kourtney Karashian?)

21-year-old Marissa Hooper originally started this as a way to drive her mam crazy, but of course, as soon the internet got wind of her epic prank, it turned into so much more.

After a few weeks, her mam finally noticed the subtle changes around her house and according to Marissa, “she wasn't amused.”

But, much to Marissa's surprise, the rest of the internet certainly was.

And as if that wasn't enough, little Dixie has now got her very own Instagram account so we can all keep up with her adventures.

Coast Guards have rescued two dogs in separate incidents in Dublin over the past 24 hours.

Yesterday evening a member of the public contacted the Coast Guard after their dog had slipped and become trapped in a cliff at Red Rock in Sutton.

A team from the Howth station were immediately dispatched and a climber was lowered 15 foot down to the Golden Retriever.

Three-year-old Marely was successfully rescued and reunited with his owner.

In a separate incident earlier today, another dog owned contacted the Coast Guard after their dog swam into a shipping lane in Dublin Bay.

After a quick response from the Howth station, the dog was rescued from the water and reunited with its owner.

A spokesperson for the Coast Guard praised both owners for contacting them rather than attempting to rescue the animals themselves.

We're just glad both doggies are safe and sound.

If there's anything New Yorkers have in abundance it's creativity in the face of adversity.

Nothing will get in their way, not even the Metropolitan Transit Authority, capiche?

Last October, a new NYC transit rule came into effect prohibiting any animal from riding the subway, with the exception of service dogs and animals small enough to fit in a an enclosed container.

The new rule states: "No person may bring any animal on or into any conveyance or facility unless enclosed in a container and carried in a manner which would not annoy other passengers."

And of course, being the upstanding, law abiding citizens that they are, the people of NYC hav obeyed this new rule down to a tee.

Just take a look.

Pet-lovers of New York City, we salute you (and your four legged friends).

This is just too much.

Tom Hardy has penned an emotional tribute to his dog Woody, who sadly passed away earlier this week.

In a heartfelt blog post, the actor told fans about his loss, explaining that Woody had died following a six-month battled with polymyositisis – a rare, autoimmune, muscle disease.

Tom had rescued the dog back in 2012 when he was filming his film Lawless in Atlanta, and the two have been “best friends” ever since.

In the post, Tom told the story of the night he and Woody first met, explaining how the Labrador-cross ran out in front of his car one night while he was driving in Georgia with his Lawless co-star, Jessica Chastain.

He then got out of his car and went out looking for the dog, who was just 11-weeks-old at the time.

He wrote, “Jessica asked me was he a girl or a boy. It's a boy I said. How do you know. Erm… I can feel his Woodstock. great !!! let's call him Woodstock!!! And so it was.”

When it came time for Tom to return to London, Jessica's parents stepped in and took care of Woody at their California home until the actor could return to the US.

Tom's wife, Charlotte Riley, also had a close bond with the rescue dog.

“Charlotte worked tirelessly with him to get him through a rough case of separation anxiety. He loved her like his Mum. And when she was pregnant he guarded her fiercely.”

Woody was quite the regular on Hollywood movie sets, and red carpet premieres, and was even named TIME magazine's 73rd most influential animal .

“He beat JAWS. Something we all thought was brilliant. He's been in peaky blinders. Legend everyone who met him loved him. He didn't have a bad bone in his body. All he knew was love,” Tom wrote.

“I don't normally speak out about family and friends but this is an unusual circumstance. Woody affected so many people in his own right.”

Tom finished the heart-breaking letter by thanking Woody for the times they shared together, stating that “the world for me was a better place with him in it and by my side.”

“Thankyou Woody for choosing to find us. We will love you and be with you and you with us forever. Never ever ever forgotten. Your Boy tom xxx”

We're not crying, you are!

And that’s not even the best part.

Pupp is a BYOB café.

The restaurant will open for dinner every Wednesday to Sunday from 5:30pm – 9:30pm.
