We all know that the red chair can be a hit-or-miss concoction of tales good, bad, and (very) ugly.

But it was a certain Sean from Donegal who on Friday gave what we believe to be one of the best stories ever told on The Graham Norton Show

Recounting a rather unusual experience at a friend's wedding, Sean relayed to the audience the moment that the groom got up to address the gathered guests.

Asking everyone in the room to get up out of their seats, this groom next instructed the diners to turn over their plates; those with a clear plate being allowed to sit down again. Those who found a red dot on their crockery – a total of eight men – however, had to remain standing.

The groom then proceeded to reveal that he was aware that his new bride had slept with the eight men during their engagement. Stating that he planned on getting an annulment, the scorned man walked out of the room.

Stars on Norton's show – including Niall Horan and Chris O'Dowd – expressed a glorious mixture of surprise and admiration as Sean's story wrapped up.

And understandably, the Donegal man was allowed to walk from the infamous red chair too.

When we picture Sarah Jessica Parker, it's hard not to picture her as Carrie Bradshaw dominating New York streets in her highest heels but it seems SJP loves spending her down time in Donegal.

The 51-year-old actress owns a holiday home with her husband Matthew Broderick in Kilcar Co Donegal and it looks like their son James loves it as much as they do.

The 13-year-old has apparently grown to love the area as well as one other Irish tradition.

"My son is 13 and has a certain vanity about his appearance that seems age appropriate. He's interested in soccer and GAA," Sarah told the Irish Sun on Sunday.

I might do this all day long. Cause I love himsez so. HAPPY BIRTHDAY JW! XXX, Mama

Sarah says that the family, including her son James and her seven-year-old twins Marion and Tabitha all try and get to Ireland as much as possible but unfortunately this year it seems the Donegal town won't see a visit from the A-list family.

"We always have a fabulous time in Donegal and I’m sorry we’re not going to be able to make it this year.

“It’s one of our happiest places ever, but sadly we have to skip this summer. My in-laws will be visiting instead.”

Donegal is one of the most scenic counties in Ireland, and now it's getting its very own whiskey distillery.

The combo of stunning cliffs, a gealtacht, the wild atlantic way and whiskey means that Carrick in Donegal is soon going to become a hotspot for tourists.

The Sliabh Liag Distillery at Carrick in Donegal will be this first whiskey distillery in the county in over 174 years.

With the views, there really is no better place and while everything is still in the planning stages, the owners, James Doherty and Margaret Cunningham have already debuted their first whiskey called The Silkie.

We can't wait to try it.

Most of the country woke up to chilly conditions this morning – and it's just gotten a whole load more wintry out there too.

In fact, it's currently SNOWING in Co Donegal.

Fermanagh and parts of Sligo are also reportedly experiencing snow showers.

However, the worst hit areas are certainly in south Donegal, with hail furthermore impacting on driving conditions.

The likes of Rossnowlagh and Ballintra seemingly have the heaviest snow coverage on the ground.

Met Éireann reports: "Heavy blustery showers (some with hail and thunder) will continue for the rest of the day, with the showers tending to be more frequent over the western half of the country

"A cold day with highest temperatures of 7C to 9C in strong and gusty westerly winds."

Meanwhile, there will be "heavy rain" tomorrow "for much of the day".

A hotel that has spent much of the last five years closed and disused is on the verge of reopening – as slick student accommodation.

Amid economic uncertainty and recession, the Gleneany House in Letterkenny closed its doors in 2011 – however its proximity to the Letterkenny Institute Of Technology has now given it a second lease of life.

Indeed, it has already been overhauled and spruced up, resulting in 24 en-suite rooms which each come with Wi-Fi, a dishwasher and microwaves.

There’s also free parking, a student lounge, launderette and 24-hour security. Additionally, a former hotel restaurant will shortly re-open to provide meals once term kicks-off again in a couple of weeks.

The local estate agent, Manus McGroddy, told the Irish Independent that the rooms offer “Carlsberg accommodation at Ryanair prices”.

“We have put a lot of work into it,” he added. “There is a definite shortage of student housing in Letterkenny and this will help to fill the gap.”

Mr McGroddy said more than half the rooms in the town centre building have already been snapped up.

“The hotel was lying empty. A lot of money has been invested in it and it now ticks all the boxes for students coming to Donegal.”

With room for 35 occupants, single rooms start at €60 a week, while doubles for students willing to share cost €80 – or €40 each.

With most extras included in the weekly rent, the only additional bill will be electricity.

Sarah Jessica Parker is back in Donegal – and it seems she’s a big GAA fan!

The Sex and the City star and hubby Matthew Broderick own a house in lovely Kilcar.

And the Hollywood stars have arrived back to enjoy a few days of R&R there.

The couple’s son James was even spotted wearing a brand new Donegal jersey in Dunkineely.

According to a local shopkeeper, SJP bought four Donegal jerseys, but didn’t get any players names on them.

The couple are understood to be staying in Donegal for a couple of weeks before jetting back to America.

Sarah has previously spoken of how much she loves visiting Ireland.

She said, “The Donegal people are renowned the world over for their kindness.

“The locals always make us feel very welcome, and it is flattering that some even talk of us as one of their own. Donegal is always our preferred holiday destination”

We think she should just move here, so we can hang out with our favourite style queen!

The Happy singer was struggling to control his emotions, when he appeared on Oprah’s programme Oprah Prime, yesterday.

But don’t worry Pharrell was crying tears of joy, as the singer talked with the host about his childhood and the reaction Happy has had across the world.

One of the many viral reactions of the Oscar nominated song, was shown to Pharrell including Donegal’s own dance version of the hit song.

After, Williams saw the entire international compilation of various Happy covers, he started to sob and said: “I have no idea why I’m crying.”

The singer also saw snaps of his childhood before the video compilation, so it’s understandable why he might be a little emotional.

After he wiped away his tears, Pharrell went onto to discuss with Oprah what inspires his music.

“My best songs come from two different ways. Either when I have a really good gut feeling about something, it’s written in the shower or on a plane.”
