Ah, dry shampoo; a true friend to all women out there who can't be bothered washing their hair every day.

We recently discovered a delightful new brand of dry shampoo, that you can customise to match your hair colour.

Created by two women in need of a better dry shampoo, Stranded is tinted to match blondes, brunettes and redheads.

Using nothing but ingredients found in nature, Stranded contains powders that match to individual hair shades, and we're in love.

To make things even better, the ingredients are also vegan-friendly, and sulfate- and paraben-free… SOLD.

A bottle of this dry shampoo will set you back $26, which is pretty OK by us.

We are absolute slaves to dry shampoo, and by the looks of things so is everyone on Instagram.

After taking to social media to promote Ouai Dry Shampoo Foam, celebrity hair stylist, Jen Atkin, has been inundated with comments from Instagram users only dying to get in on the action.

Set to drop in the States in four days time, the new product claims to actually remove oil and product build-up instead of simply concealing it for a day or two.

In addition to sharing footage of the product in the run-up to its launch, Jen has given Instagram users a tutorial on the way in which to apply to hair for maximum results.

Rocking a barnet that apparently hadn't been washed in three days, Jen applied the foam to her tresses, and instantly transformed a relatively lacklustre 'do into a volumised beachy look, and we're officially converted.

Not only the founder, but also a client. the Dry Shampoo Foam drops 1.13.17 @theouai Preorder on theouai.com

"Game changer," remarked one of Jen's followers while another added: "I want! I need! I must have!"

We're with them on that one.

When you're in work ALL day, hungover or simply just lazy, it can be an effort and a half to get up and wash your hair (don't lie, you know it's true).

So, it's safe to say you're going to welcome this little beauty with open arms into your life.

Living Proof dry shampoo is unlike any other dry shampoo you have used before – because it actually cleans your hair.

Most brands just hide the grease (we know, disgusting) but Living Proof has a "triple action cleaning technology" which basically washes your hair without all the water and soap.

The spray is totally weightless and has various powders which work as a formula to absorb and dissolve dirt and oil (rather than just masking it).

All you need to do is sprit the spray onto your hair (it will seem a bit stiff at first), then leave for a minute and brush though, leaving your hair looking like it's been freshly washed.

We can see this becoming our new BFF.

Hands up if your dry shampoo is bae? Especially for everyone that has long and knotty hair, washing it a million times a week can be a total effort.

But, fear not ladies, because there is a new hair tool in town that promises to cut your washing time in half. Hurray!

PonyDry is a new product that allows you to cup all of your hair up into a ponytail, and then wraps a tight band around your pony so no water can get in.

Then, all you have to do is just wash the top of your hair and around the scalp, and presto! You're hair is washed.

While this invention sounds absolutely incredible, hair stylist, Kat Zemtsova told Cosmo that it's not suitable for all hair types. *Sobs*.

"Kat advises only those with straight hair to use the PonyDry. If you usually blow out your naturally curly hair, it's going to be tough to re-style it after your roots get curly again."

Look – we do genuinely mean to have a shower every morning. And we absolutely know that we should exfoliate AND moisturise before applying a layer of fake tan.

Yup – our nails could be more manicured; feet less rough. No, a messy slept-in bun is rarely as striking as tumbling GHD curls.

But then we weigh up the prospect of an extra 30minutes in bed, or more time spent on the couch watching Strictly before we head out… and suddenly we’re willing and oh-so able to embrace our inner Lazy Girl.

Do we looked as preened and proper as a Kardashian-Jenner at the Met Ball? Well, no… but hey, we don’t look half bad either.

So here, in honour of those extra 30minutes in bed, SHEmazing! rounds up our top 10 Lazy Girl beauty habits that our fellow Lazy Girls will know ALL about.

1) Dry shampoo is god: in fact, we reckon we're pretty much keeping Batiste afloat at this stage

2) A 'fancy' up-do or messy plait is merely a cunning ruse to get through another day without washing your hair

3) And when we do wash your hair… we never have time to actually dry it properly. Pony-tail or bun still wet at 6pm? Yup, that's us

4) To our total shame, we've found stray hairpins buried somewhere in our tresses DAYS after we've applied them

5) Thankfully, big brows are in – because we haven't shaped, plucked or HD'd them in MONTHS. Au natural ftw

6) Cleanse, tone and moisturise? Lolz; we're ALL about the facial wipes. For a really thorough clean, we'll even occasionally use two

7) Allegedly, lipstick requires a specialist brush for expert application – that AND you need liner too? Oh, we genuinely didn't know…

8) We do own an eyelash curler, but we have never once used it. Nor do we plan on starting any time soon

9) We are aware that contouring is a thing. We have never, however, contoured; tinted BB cream has works perfectly well thanks all the same

10) Sunglasses can be worn at all times, and in all weather, in lieu of actually putting on makeup

Here at SHEmazing! we’re going to be totally honest and admit that we probably couldn’t get through the week without our trusty bottle of Batiste dry shampoo.

It’s cheap, it’s effective – and on more than one morning it’s given us a coveted extra 30minutes in bed. Bliss!

However, experts (think hairdressers and trichologists) are now warning that using it too often can lead to a host of problems: itchy flaky scalps, pimples, sores and even hair loss – including bald patches.

That's because dry shampoo isn't actually designed to be used every day (oopsies) as an alternative to washing.

So, how often is too often?

Apparently once a week is plenty (eek!) and dry shampoo should only be used on clean hair as a styling product – NOT as way to get three days out of your blow-dry.

Hmm, is it enough to persuade us to put down the bottle? We reckon if your hair is relatively healthy and strong, then there's no need to cut back just yet.

However, if you're experiencing problems with your tresses AND you're something of a dry shampoo addict, it might well be time to re-think your styling schedule.

You have been warned!

We’ve ALL been there: you’re running late; you slept in; you have 20-minutes flat to get yourself ready, get out the door and be somewhere where you’re required to look respectable.

Which is why we’d be oh-so lost without a trusty bottle of dry shampoo.

And we’re not alone either: sales have rocketed over the last five years as savvy women everywhere strive to get that extra day (or two!) from their style.

Because, understandably, when you spend the best part of an hour straightening, curling, fixing and perfecting every strand, you want to see it last longer than 24 hours.

But while dry shampoos definitely breathe life into limp locks and let you skip a shower, these top tips will most certainly go a long way to really nailing your technique:

  • Shake the dry shampoo bottle vigorously before use (and also between sprays)
  • Lift sections of dry hair and spray lightly at the roots using short bursts; aim to hold the bottle around 20-30cm from your head
  • Leave the product to settle for one minute, then use your fingertips to massage it in
  • Then brush it out and style as usual

There are plenty of brands to choose from, but our pick is most certainly TRESemmé’s Instant Refresh Volumising Dry Shampoo.

Infused with mineral clay and citrus, it revives fine, limp hair and – of course – removes excess oil and impurities. Furthermore, it helps to eliminate any lingering odours, leaving hair perfectly revitalised.

Indeed, when Instant Refresh is sprayed at your roots, the fine mist refreshes without leaving behind ANY visible residue.

And even if your tresses are freshly-washed, TRESemmé has developed a product which is also fantastic for creating lots of body and movement – without weighing down your hair.

Frankly, it’s a product we just couldn’t live without.

For us girls dry shampoo can be the biggest saviour sometimes….ever sleep in a little late and no time to wash you hair before work?! Yea, we know that snooze button can be tempting…

But the one thing that gets us is that powdery white look this wonder product leaves in our hair. Our beauty expert Odette might have found something that gets rid of the grease without leaving us with ghostly hair!

Take a look.

Dry shampoo is definitely a contender for being the best invention since sliced bread. It has become every girl’s BFF and is most likely in your handbag right now.

Unfortunately, while it has become a hero in hair emergencies, there is a knack to using it and not every girl has mastered it.

Follow these easy steps to give your hair life without leaving random grey patches.

  • Pick a brand that is close to your hair colour, especially if it is dark
  • Brush all the tangles out of your hair.
  • Hold the can about 15 cm away from your hair focusing on the roots.
  • Use continuous spraying rather than spritz.
  • Don’t rub it in.
  • Leave it to settle – about five minutes.
  • Brush through your hair again.
  • A few drops of essential oil at your tips will leave you smelling like you just jumped out of the shower.

Ta-da!

Remember, dry shampoo is not a replacement for washing your hair…
