Breaking: Fire results in the closure of Dublin’s Port Tunnel this morning
According to emerging reports, Dublin's Port Tunnel has been closed this morning due to a vehicular fire.
It has been established that the tunnel has been closed both ways after a truck, which is was travelling northbound, caught fire.
Dublin Fire Brigade has taken to social media to confirm the disruption, tweeting: "We're currently attending an incident involving a truck in the Dublin Port Tunnel, both bores closed while we deal, traffic delays #Dublin."
"Our crews are dealing with an incident in the Northbound bore. Both bores are closed to traffic to facilitate access," they added.

Reiterating the announcement, M50 Dublin tweeted: "Both bores of the Port Tunnel have been temporarily closed due to a truck on fire. #m50safety."
"Port Tunnel closed both ways following a fire on a truck.," reported AA Roadwatch. "S'bound traffic slow from M1/M50 Interchange and n'bound traffic slow from East Wall Rd. Emergency services at scene."
Units of the Dublin Fire Brigade are currently in attendance, and the public have been advised to expect delays in the vicinity this morning.
