With Longitude and Forbidden Fruit revealing their line ups in recent weeks, we're already looking towards festival season.

However, there's another kind of festival that's caught our eye, kicking off in Dublin.

The Pizza & Prosecco festival is happening on June 9, and the clue is in the name

The festival will be celebrating Dublin's best wood fired pizza, all washed down with a glass (or five) of bubbly.

'Get your slice of fun while you sip on bubbles to a singalong sound track that's cheesier then your pizza topping,' reads the event description.

Each ticket includes one deliciously refreshing Aperol Spritz and a slice of pizza, as well as entry.

There will also be DJS performing, as well as live acts and performers.

The event is over 18s only, as 20 types of prosecco will be on offer.

You can register for tickets here.

The Notebook is often hailed as one of the greatest romantic movies of our time, and with the old Hollywood rapport between the leading characters, it's hard not to get wrapped up in the romance and tragedy.

However, the movie is also seen as a little sappy thanks to the OTT dialogue and declarations of love scattered throughout – so what if it was given a more relatable edge?

Giz A Laugh and Windup Merchatz are giving us a glimpse at the film if it had been set in Dublin.

From the typical arguments about what to order from the takeaway to Snapchatting stunts on a Ferris wheel, this is an essential watch for Valentines Day.

So, the most stomach churning of Hallmark holidays is upon us, but rather than moping in single or semi-singledom, we're choosing to make this lovable day about the gals.

While thousands of 'the boy done good' captioned pictures of designer bags and Victoria's Secret hauls flood Instagram, we've decided that we'll be sinking pints and G&Ts with our fellow single crew members.

Where exactly? Well, Drop Dead Twice is hosting the ultimate antidote to this love sick holiday – The Netflix & Chill pub quiz.

The pub quiz is completely free for teams to enter, and the team with the best name wins a delish bottle of The Dubliner Whiskey, so even if your trivia skills aren't up to scratch, your name-choosing may win you some drank.

For the more competitive among us, it's time to get the flash cards out and start swotting.

The theme of the quiz is, of course, Netflix, so we're sure that every team member will have a bit of organic knowledge in there somewhere.

The event will be held at The Tap Room in Drop Dead Twice on Francis Street, Dublin.

The venue recently had a refurbishment and is looking laaaavely, and now has more than 20 craft beers on tap for those knowledgable in both trivia and an excellent brew.

Now to watch the entire series of Stranger Things again before tonight, just in case it comes up.

Dubliners listen up!

As if our heads weren't big enough already, now the lads and ladies hailing from the capital city have been voted the biggest heart-throbs in all the land.

According to romantic new research from leading hotel group, Jurys Inn, the people of Dublin are in high demand, with the men being voted most handsome (28 per cent) and the women most beautiful (27 per cent) out of all 32 counties.

A survey of 1,000 Irish people showed that 21 per cent think Dublin 'stun-huns' are the best people to settle down with, closely followed by the gorgeous people of Galway (16 per cent).

Looks aside, when it comes to accents the dulcet Donegal tones take the top spot, with 37 per cent of people voting it the most attractive in Ireland.

Looking abroad, a quarter of Irish people believe people from France have the best accents in the world, followed closely by the Aussies (18 per cent) and Italians (17 per cent).

According to the survey, Italians, Scandinavian, French, and Spanish men all rank amongst the best looking. The most beautiful women are said to come from Scandinavia, Italy and Spain, while the British and Canadians were considered to be the best marriage material.

Commenting on the findings, Suzanne Cannon, Head of Marketing at Jurys Inn, said: “Valentine’s Day has become a fun day for all to pamper people they love, whether it’s a romantic, familial or platonic relationship.”

“While our research has some playful findings, it also shows that the Irish have a lot of love to give! At Jurys Inn, we host a number of Valentine’s visits ranging from couples coming to spoil their sweethearts with a weekend break to groups of friends heading out in the city to celebrate being single!”

Gardaí in Dublin have launched an investigation into an alleged sexual assault involving disgraced producer, Harvey Weinstein.

According to reports, police in the UK have forwarded a case file to Irish detectives in relation to the alleged incident.

The complaint, which was reportedly made by Irish film producer Laura Madden, was first made in the UK last year.

Details of the assault were sent to Gardaí late last year, though investigators have refused to comment on Irish-UK police communications.

Madden, who previously worked for Weinstein’s Miramax Hollywood movie company. was one of the first women to speak out against Harvey Weinstein, telling The New York Times how he would ask her for massages when they stayed in hotels in Dublin and London in the 90s.

"It was so manipulative," she told the paper.

"You constantly question yourself – am I the one who is the problem?"

Criminal investigations continue on both sides of the Atlantic following a series of sexual assault allegations made against the former Hollywood big shot.

With Irish pubs being legally allowed to serve alcohol for the first time in 90 years as of this Good Friday, it only seems right that a pub crawl to honour the momentous occasion was organised.

Thanks to Publin, one such even has been organised in Dublin city already.

The pub crawl will bring fans of a good gargle to some of Dublin's finest pubs to celebrate the lifting of the ban.

'On the night we'll visit 4 pubs, each with a different story to tell,' reads the event description.

'Publin crawls aren't just about the drinking; we'll try to show you a side of pubs that you haven't seen or considered before.'

'Before each location we give you a short history of the pub and a few tidbits of stories that should be news even to the most well informed pub goer.'

The crawl kicks off at 6.30pm from an undisclosed location on Good Friday.

Tickets are priced at €16.34 abd are available here.

Britney Spears is a 90s icon, and when the news broke that the Overprotected singer was taking her Vega residency international, the fact that there was a Dublin date on the list was major.

The date was set for August 20, and fans began anticipating the difficulties of securing tickets.

Tickets for the covetable gig went on sale this morning, and according to dismayed Twitter users, sold out in minutes..

Tickets for the 3 Arena concert were going for a reasonable €68.50..

However, they are now being sold on Ticketmaster's re-sale website, Seatwave, for a whopping price.

The resale site has prices for tickets listed of up to €1000 – each.

There are four tickets available for the 3Arena gig being sold on the site for €1000.00 each, coming toa grand total, including booking fee, of €4719.96.

The cheapest standing ticket on the resale site, priced at €175 in total, is still more than double the original cost of the tickets.

And, they're being snapped up by disappointed fans who could not access the Ticketmaster site the first time around.

A number of listed prices on the Seatwave website were connected to broken links as the tickets were 'no longer available' due to being purchased.

Fans are outraged by the massive cost of the re-sale tickets, and are calling for better regulation of ticket sales.

Dublin has some seriously creative street artists, who constantly battle with Dublin City Council to have their work maintained on Dublin's walls.

One half of The Rubberbandits, BlindBoy has been immortalised in spray paint on the outside of Dublin venue The Hangar.

The mural is the work of Subset, who showcased the piece on Instagram.

A post shared by SUBSET (@subsetdublin) on

Subset are responsible for many of the beautiful works of street art Dubliners are lucky enough to encounter on the daily.

Remember that epic Stormzy mural down in Smithfield? You can thank Subset for that.

And the Make Dublin Grey Again mural which ruffled a few feathers thanks to it's depiction of Donald Trump?

A post shared by SUBSET (@subsetdublin) on

Once again, Subset are responsible.

Not content with making an aesthetic piece, Subset added a quote against Donald Trump's leadership from BlindBoy which reads:

'Donny is more terrifying than a Jack Russell with human hands.'

The street art group have been fighting a long battle with Dublin City Council, who continue to paint over their art.

The council calls the art 'unauthorised developments,' and says that the work is a breach of city planning.

Head into town to see the piece for yourself.

Every city has a handful of unique destinations which appeal to die-hard fashionistas who know that bang for your buck is still possible even at designer label level.

And this week, our favourite has opened its second branch!

Designer Exchange, Ireland’s leading pre-loved luxury handbag and accessories retailer expanded, and is now tempting the masses on Dublin's Exchequer Street.

Running alongside their existing store on Dawson Street, the Designer Exchange team are thrilled to be growing and also adding new staff to the team.

Designer Exchange’s Paddy Coughlan said: “When we first opened we always planned on having more stores, we found the perfect location and we are thrilled it’s happened."

"There are lots of growth plans for Designer Exchange in 2018 and beyond, but this is a great way to start a new chapter in our story.”

Since opening its doors in October 2012, Designer Exchange has disrupted the designer accessories retail market.

Having researched the market, recruited a strong team and ensured everyone was educated on all authenticity issues, Paddy Coughlan has created a retailer where many dreams come true!

In a retail sector predominately aimed at women, what drives Paddy’s interest in handbags?

“Personally, as much as I love the traditional craft, especially the brands that pride themselves on hand finished craft, I adore the romantic histories of the designers," Paddy replied.

"From Louis Vuitton, humble beginnings and how each of the oldest fashion houses have evolved through the years. A bag is for everyone, but 10-inch stilettos aren’t. A bag or accessory no longer just completes a look, a look can be built around it.”

The official opening of Designer Exchange second outlet will be held in late February but in the meantime the Exchequer Street store is now open with an incredible selection to tempt everyone.
