If you spent your youth listening to Teenage Dirtbag on repeat, then this is going to be a great night out for you.

Yep, Wheatus are coming to Dublin and we're very excited to see them.

The lads will play in Whelan's on this upcoming Bank Holiday Monday, May 1, and we think it's the perfect way to end the long weekend.

Tickets into the gig are only €18 and are on sale now.

'Cause I'm just a teenage dirtbag baby…

There is a podcast for everything these days, but it's not too often that an independent, niche show climbs the iTunes charts or takes the top spot.

However, in the case of feminist podcast It Galz, dominating the charts is a regular occurrence.

Run by two fine-ass feminists Jenny Claffey and Lindsay Hamilton, the women are bringing real talk and relevant listening experiences to our ears in hour long segments.

It Galz is an engaging endeavour, chipping away at the veneer of how we usually view women, be that through a prescribed interview or Instagram filter, and delving into the modern, Irish female experience.

A post shared by IT GALZ (@itgalzpodcast) on

Free flowing and far from contrived, the galz, who are best friends IRL, use their own experiences to illustrate life as a woman in this country.

While their experiences are eclectic and Dublin-centric, the duo eloquently describe relatable concepts through their personal stories, and voice opinions that reflect those of the majority.

The episodes are peppered with 'she just said exactly what I've always thought!' moments, as the fierce and hilarious women explore themes such as female friendships, dating in Dublin and social media influencers, saying the things most people have never felt they could vocalise (but have always thought) about our society.

A post shared by IT GALZ (@itgalzpodcast) on

Exposing intimate details about their personal lives, the galz reflect on relationships, life lessons and house parties past.

In one of my personal favourite podcasts, Is Beauty Blogging Dead, the ladies unapologetically dissect the Irish blogging industry, and describe issues with the phenomenon in better terminology than most Gucci-belt wearing, skinny tea sipping influencers could themselves.

'When the whole influencer thing really exploded we definitely noticed a gap in the market for ‘real talk’, Lindsay told The Daily Edge.

'That’s when I think we started to see our conversations as important and that they could help the women of Ireland today who are being fed so much false content.'

A post shared by IT GALZ (@itgalzpodcast) on

Evidently opposed to the idea of creating inauthentic content, the girls seem to naturally have the knack for conceptualising relevant topics for their series, with episodes like Gal Palz which discusses the intricacies of female friendship, and Dating Talez, which ventures into the murky waters of dick pics and male entitlement.

Though the podcast is a laugh a minute, the integral elements of educating women on their rights and reminding girls that there are fierce woman in this country who are young, edgy and not afraid to speak their minds are there.

Also, if you're looking for a new page to follow, their Instagram is a gas bundle of 90s and 00s nostalgia throwbacks that are giving us life at the moment.

Fine-ass feminists is definitely the correct adjective to describe these women, and they encourage their listeners to embrace the term too.

Ultimately, this new podcast has to be one of the most engaging, relevant and authentic on the Irish market right now, and if the feedback on their current episodes is anything to go by, the pair are set to go from strength to strength.

It's high time Ireland had more women taking to the podcast podium to express themselves and project the feelings of their fellow females, and Jenny and Lindsay are doing exactly that.

British Vogue has given its opinion on Dublin's fair city.

The Vogue Guide to Dublin has some pretty great spots on its list, however, you may want to take out a mini loan if you plan on doing all of these things in the space of one weekend.

However, we're very board with waking up in one hotel and going to sleep in another… #lavishlife.

We love the top ten places they recommend:

Stay: At the Marker

"The Marker Hotel is a juxtaposition of urbanity and nature. Its dominant checkered façade cascades over its neighbours, setting the aesthetic tone for a developing borough populated by start-ups and tech mavericks," the website reads.

Shop: At Roads

Gilly Hopper for Vogue comments, "The publishing house, created by Danielle Ryan, embodies elegance and innovation, working with the best international artists, curators and designers to create books that are collectable and timeless works of art."

A post shared by ROADS (@roadsgroup) on

Eat lunch: At Bastible

"From the simple to the complex, Bastible, a contemporary neighbourhood bistro, focuses on seasonal produce and an eclectic set menu," reads the site.

A post shared by Bastible (@bastible111) on

Don't miss: Francis Bacon’s Studio at The Hugh Lane Gallery

"Today you can encounter Bacon’s chaotic working space, which conserves photographic materials, slashed canvases and some two thousand samples of Bacon's painting materials," says Gilly.

Shop: At Article

The review reads, "Located in Lord Powerscourt's former dressing room, Article is a homewares haven in the heart of Dublin city. Offering an edited selection of items created by local and contemporary Irish designers, the relaxed retail space will make gift shopping a breeze."

Stop off: At 777

"Combining bold flavours from Mexico City with international tastes, 777 is the ideal spot for a full feast or just a post-prandial drink," Vogue reports.

Visit: The Long Room at Trinity College Library

Gilly recommends, "During your visit, count the 48 marble busts of eminent writers and philosophers and compare the halls to the computer-generated version, which appeared as the Jedi Archive in Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones."

Drink: At Sidecar at The Westbury

"The Twenties style bar is filled with tarnished mirror walls and marble tables, a stand-out space in the newly revamped hotel. Relax in a sumptuous velvet armchair as you work your way through the extensive drinks menu," says the review.

Eat dinner: At Forest & Marcy or Forest Avenue Restaurant

Vogue remarks, "For lunch or dinner, choose from two bespoke restaurants created by culinary duo John and Sandy Wyer. Offering fine dining at an affordable price, the couple (formerly of L’Ecrivain) focus on simple fare across both their restaurants."

A post shared by Forest Avenue (@forestavedub) on

Relax: The Dean

The writer knows how to do it well: "Settle into a modern boutique room clad with Marshall amps and a fully stocked mini Smeg, before indulging in a firewood pizza and a cocktail at Sophie’s rooftop restaurant."

The world has become obsessed with gin, and rightly so.

The refreshing and versatile beverage can be dressed up with fancy cordials and fruits, or enjoyed as it is with a light tonic, and because of the delicious amount of variety available, there is no better way to show off the drink than with a gin festival.

If you're feeling like a G&T next week, you can head to the Ranelagh Gin Festival

A post shared by The Hill Pub (@thehillpub) on

As well as being located in one of Dublin's most pleasant areas, the G&Ts at this festival are far from overpriced, at a very reasonable €6.00.

Hosted by The Hill pub, there are a number of delicious concoctions to try.

We're particularly loving the sound of the Mi-mi, because what better partner is there for gin than a splash of elderflower.

Make sure you nook a table in advance to avoid disappointment.

The latest addition to Dublin's coffee culture has a little bit more than speciality coffee and a cosy atmosphere going for it.

Container Coffee is about to open on Thomas Street, and the unique venture boasts an impressive shipping container as its host.

Cutting a squat but striking figure surrounded by buildings, the charming steel structure's pop of blue and inviting outdoor space sets it apart from other shop front coffee houses.

Entrepreneur Gordon Hickey has been documenting the progress of the unique project on Instagram, amassing the interest of hundreds of coffee culture enthusiasts.

The coffee hot spot, stocking Cloud Picker brew, is set to open in the next two weeks, so the months of hard work are soon to pay off.

'The reason I set it up was I was working on a medical television programme last year, and there was a shipping container with a clinic inside of it, and we toured it around Ireland giving free medical checks, and it was quite easy to do it,' Gordon told SHEmazing!

'So last year I came back from New Zealand and I was cycling down to Thomas Street and I was thinking that it needed an injection of life and I'd seen an empty piece of land and thought this would be a great place to put a shipping container on and open a little cafe.'

After coming up with the idea, the entrepreneur kicked off the project in September last year, and hopes that the unique container will become a bit of a landmark.

As well as being a tourist spot thanks to the surrounding attractions, the shop hopes to become a regular pit stop for the local businesses and residents, serving high quality coffee and gourmet sandwiches.

Thanks to the wide, versatile open space surrounding the cafe, dogs are welcome to visit the area with their owners, and while they can't enter the freight container itself, there will be doggie bowls and treats lined up in the outdoor space.

The cafe has already had a hugely positive response from the local area, with one Instagram users commenting: 'Live literately around the corner and this area definitely needs a good coffee spot! Can't wait.'

If you fancy following the project, you can find Container Coffee on Instagram to find out when exactly the new space will be open to caffeine connoisseurs.

Paramore have announced that they are coming to Dublin this summer.

The Tennessee rockers will play the Olympia Theatre on Dame Street on June 15, as part of their European tour.

The band is coming back with a new album, After Laughter, after four years of being off the music scene.

Many are reporting that the new tracks have a bit of an 80s vibe to them, so we can't wait to hear it.

Tickets for the Dublin show are on sale from April 28, and are priced at €29.00 from ticketmaster.ie.

Creme Eggs are an Easter institution, and no Easter bank holiday weekend would be complete without a few of these bad boys.

Sadly, if you've been off the chocolate for Lent, you may have forgone the confectionery icon in favour of your chaste religious commitment.

Those off chocolate are probably gagging for a bit of the sweet stuff, and now Rage restaurant in Dublin is serving up a new way to fix your craving.

A Creme Egg cocktail exists, and we're more than delighted.

The popular eatery in Blackrock Village is serving up the sweet treat which looks completely delicious.

We'll take a vat of the stuff, please.

So Ireland has gotten more than a little bit obsessed with gin, and now there is an entire festival dedicated to the stuff coming to the capital.

Ginfusion is coming to Dublin, and the G&T drenched drinks festival will be taking up residence at the Bernard Shaw.

The show gives an insight into the relationship between photographer Brian Duffy and David Bowie. Brian snapped many iconic photos of the legendary artist, including the Aladdin Sane album cover.

Curated by Brian’s son, Chris Duffy, the show features a host of rare and previously unreleased images

Bowie by Duffy will run for three weeks in the Ebow gallery Castle Street, Dublin 2, and entry is free.

Although all the music, performance and orchestral events are free of charge, event organisers recommend the talks, film-screenings, workshops be pre-booked to avoid disappointment.
