We all went through it, and for the people that still are going through it, we feel for you.

Trying to nab student accommodation that is close to your college and is a good price is pretty hard to find.

However, Cork property owner Michael O'Flynn has just bought a site which was previously owned by NAMA and CIE, and is planning on turning it into nearly 1,000 student beds.

According to The Irish Times, the two apartment blocks will comprise of seven stories, with retail space at the ground level. It will feature a variation of sleeping arrangements, with clusters of three and eight bedroom spaces as well as twin and single study areas.

The site is right across from the Luas at The Point, and is easily accessible. It is claimed that the 2.3 acre site was sold for more than €20 million.

Lance Armstrong was supposed to take to the stage in Dublin in less than 24 hours, but has had to pull out at the last minute.

The cyclist was meant to take part in the One Zero Conference which is being held in the RDS, but organisers have now confirmed he won't be attending due to "legal reasons."

The organisers told Pundit Arena: "He was no longer willing to travel to Ireland and participate in the planned interview with Ewan McKenna.

"We are extremely disappointed that Armstrong has withdrawn at the last minute from appearing at One Zero.

"He has let us down, he has let his fans down and he has let down those that wanted to hear him openly discuss his past and the future of sport."

Ouch, not a good move Lance.

Over the weekend, a shabby one-bed apartment was listed on popular property website, daft.ie.

Located in Dublin's north inner city, the "charming" home was seemingly located in "a sought after red brick Victorian terrace". The description went on to state that "four rent increases in three years indicates how desirable" the offering was.

"The very small floor area makes this a wonderful example of creative design. This property boasts a wonderful community spirit with communal laundry and shower facilities shared with numerous other tenants."

Dublin's rent crisis has been well documented in recent months; as Central Bank regulations narrow the numbers getting mortgages, the rental market has swelled – sometimes pushing the most vulnerable into homelessness.

Indeed, on closer inspection, this was the message behind this particular daft.ie post.

"Homelessness has reached critical levels," it continued.

"In July 2016 there were 6,525 men, women and children homeless in Ireland. It can be something small that forces someone out of their home but it could also be something small that helps get them back on their feet.

The Spire was pretty controversial when it first got planted in Dublin, and to this day, there's still a divide in opinions.

However, recent footage shot by Youtuber, Charliebarrett23, has captured the view from the top of the monument, and we have to say it's pretty spectacular.

The video was shot a few months ago, which you can probably notice with the lovely weather, but has recently resurfaced after fans began to share it online.

We often give out about our city, but it looks quite beautiful here:

With Halloween on the horizon, a new Internet craze is in action which sees a creepy clown just stand in dark areas or chase people around.

It seriously puts people on edge, and we thought we *might* have gotten away with it since it's mainly happening in America.

But last night saw the first Irish creepy clown sighting, and we're not happy. Not happy at all.

It was spotted in Darndale and it's already put the creeps in us.

Here's what Twitter had to say about it:

Nope… Too creepy.

With the Dublin – Mayo rematch tomorrow, it's safe to say GAA fans are getting pretty excited about it.

However, one little boy, David Barrett, was left heartbroken after not being able to secure a ticket to the match.

David's mam, Maria, wrote into Broadsheet, and told them a story that is going to brighten up your day:

"My son has been to event Mayo game this year, apart from the drawn final. We struggled to get tickets and it was breaking out poor little man's heart. We had to take down the poster of Aidan O'Shea from his room as he was so upset.

"Then an incredible thing happened. My husband was having a pint in our local pub Mulvihill's, when he started telling the story to our local barman Darragh (A Cork man better known as 'Hightower').

"A stranger sitting on his own at the bar overheard the whole story, and fell into conversation with my husband about GAA, the price of milk, and all kind of other things.

"He left the bar late in the evening and said to my husband, 'your son's name is David, right?' My husband replied yes.

"He never knew anything about the man, apart from the fact that his name was Conor and he had very pronounced dimples when he smiled.

"Two days ago, a letter arrived into Mulvihill's addressed to 'Master David Barrett, Mayo's biggest fan' and Hightower's jaw nearly dropped when he saw a ticket to the final in the envelope!

"Little Davey wrote him a letter (above) and I just want to let Conor know, if he ever sees this, that his kindness will never be forgotten."

This is the sweetest story we've heard all week!

It seems like Mel Gibson is having some great 'ol craic in Dublin.

Over the past two weeks he's been spotted in various restaurants, at the Panti Bliss play and has enjoyed some down time on the streets of the city with his girlfriend.

And last night, the man himself hopped on stage in the Abbey Theatre.

The theatre captioned the pic: "We had a visitor last night for the final performance of #ObserveTheSons on the #Abbeystage!

"#MelGibson with Andy Kellegher and ASM Aidan Doheny."

We're looking forward to seeing what he gets up to next!

Here at SHEmazing, we did a double-take and twice checked the calendar when we saw snaps from the recent Etihad Airways charity lunch and fashion show.

Taking place last Friday in the salubrious surroundings of the five-star Westin Hotel on College Green, it was held in aid of the wholly worthy Rape Crisis Centre.

But while the location and the charity were certainly headline acts, what also definitely caught our eye were the added extras: oodles of tousled blonde tresses, deep Marbella tans, a five-course feed, and generous glasses of champagne… not to mention a guest-list that had the glory-days of 2006 written all over it.

For one, Miss Ireland 1991 Amanda Brunker was present-and-correct, acting as host for the afternoon's proceedings.

That's not all, however. Yes, before you could cry "120 percent mortgage approval," we spotted the glamorous likes of Miriam Ahern, Blathnaid Ni Chofaigh, and Lisa Duffy – in addition to Lorraine Keane, Roz Flanagan, Joan Palmer, and Lisa Murphy.

And let's not forget the Celtic Tiger-worthy raffle prize up for grabs: one lucky winner scooped a 5-star €5,000 prize composed of return flights for two people to Abu Dhabi with Etihad Airways complete with a suite at the luxurious Shangri-La Hotel, Qaryat Al Beri. VIP table at Renards not included, sadly.

Impressively, and having weathered the ups and downs of the Irish economy, the lunch is now in its 21st year, raising in excess of an impressive €2.5m over the years.
