Dublin

Doughnuts are possibly one of our favourite treats here in Shemazing! HQ – we honestly can't get enough of them (in moderation, obvz).

And with news that there's actually going to be Annual Doughnut Festival in Dublin, we're happier than ever.

But a new doughnut trove, Treasure Sugar, is after popping up in Drumcondra in Dublin, and they look glorious.

There's a mango and peach one, the ever-popular chocolate and marshmallow and even a BACON maple doughnut. Mmmm…

For now, you can order the doughnuts via email which come in a box of six, however, their shop has yet to open.

We'll take 50 boxes so, thanks.

We all know the importance of mental health, but do we always act on it in the best way?

That's what Dublin GAA club, Cuala have picked up on in their compelling video on mental health.

The short clip shows how people treat physical illness compared to mental illness and how we need to care for BOTH.

“What if you couldn’t play the next match, wouldn’t you tell your teammates and your coach?" it asks.

“Wouldn’t you get help from a trained professional and look after yourself?

“And if a teammate was down, wouldn’t you lift them back up?”

The film's producer Colmán McKenna said: "What we wanted to do with the video was to open a discussion about how we look after our mental health, and to try and normalise it, by comparing our mental health to our physical health."

IMAGINE cleaning up your room, finding a Euromillions ticket and poof! You've just won €500,000. It would be pretty sweet, right?

Well, that exact scenario has just happened to a man in Dublin.

According to The Journal, the man, who wants to remain anonymous, said that his wife asked him to clean up a pile of papers, and he couldn't believe what he found.

"I was cleaning up a pile of old tickets and I just started checking them on my phone. When I saw that I had won the plus draw, I had to keep scanning my tickets with my wife to make sure we had won.

“It’s hard to imagine that I had a €500,000 winning ticket rolled up into a ball on my floor for three weeks.”

The winning ticket was a quick pick selection and was purchased in Ballsbridge, Dublin 4.

When asked how he'll spend his good fortune, the Dubliner said: "We are going to pay off our mortgage first and foremost while the rest of the money will be put towards our children’s education over the next number of years.”

It has been just over a week since we lost the legend that was Prince.

Nearly every star in Hollywood and beyond has been paying tribute to the artist all week, and now a gorgeous mural has just gone up in Dublin to honour him.

Outside the Sugar Club on Lower Leeson Street, the design above will stand for the next few weeks.

But that's not all. Another tribute was spotted on Instagram in Dublin, paying both tribute to David Bowie and Prince.

NBC News claim that Prince had "enough music to release a new album every year for the next century," so at least he'll still live on.

We can all admit that we love getting glammed up from time to time (or ALL the time), but when you have to trek here and there to get your make-up and hair done, it can turn into more of an effort than anything else.

Well, professional make-up artist Zoe Clark has put an end to our woes by opening a new salon in Dublin which will allow us to get the full shebang done under one roof!

Kazumi salon, which has opened on Molesworth Street, which will offer clients a whole host of services including make-up application, private and group make-up lessons and a range of professional make-up courses.

Sure, what more could you want?!

Commenting on the opening, Zoe, who will also run her exclusive make-up school from the salon, said: “I wanted to find a base that isn’t intimidating with a welcoming relaxed, warm and friendly atmosphere, where clients can come and enjoy a bit of ‘me’ time."

"Kazumi was the perfect fit," she said of the city centre base.

“I feel that make-up should be a fun and lovely thing, so I strive to have everyone leaving my new space to not only look fabulous, but above all to feel happier, more confident and ready to face the world!” Zoe said.

We already want to book an appointment!

Fan of Bear Grylls? Then you're going to be happy with this news.

If you've watched any of his shows before, then you'll know he has a true talent for beating the odds out in the wilderness – something that many of us wouldn't dream of doing.

But the wildlife extraordinaire is bringing his first live show to Dublin, and it promises to be a "thrilling" experience.

The show, titled Endeavour is going to recreate some of Bear's most gruelling stunts from his past challenges.

It will use state-of-the-art technology and an array of aerial stunts to show the real-life encounters Bear faces while on his adventures.

While speaking to RTÉ Radio 1, Bear told Ryan Tubridy, "I can’t wait to get back over to Dublin and Ireland. It’s been too long."

The 'spice bag' has gained major popularity in the past year or so. So much popularity in fact, that is has its own Facebook appreciation page for all the devotees in Ireland.

And now, Spice Bag Social has announced that they're planning a 'spice bag party' and tickets for the early bird are already gone.

The FB page promises to hold “a series of events which endeavour to bring Ireland’s flourishing Spice Bag community together, in harmony”. Nice one.

The first spice bag event is being held on May 7:

The price of admission includes a delightful spice bag and a free drink so you can chomp away to hours of good music in a secret location in Dublin.

You can buy a ticket here, but be quick – they could be gone in the same amount of time you eat a spice bag after a trip to Coppers (and that's fast).

Macklemore has touched down in Dublin town, and he's loving it so much, he can't stop posting on Snapchat.

The rapper is performing in the 3Arena this weekend, but arrived to the capital city early so he could soak up some Irish culture.

One of his snaps shows him dancing on Grafton Street with his daughter and he looked very happy to be here.

Macklemore and his partner Ryan Lewis are performing tonight, Saturday and Sunday, and if his last gig was anything to go by you're going to have a good time.

It was reported a couple of months ago that College Green in Dublin will become more pedestrianised, but we didn't realise there would be THIS much change.

Goodbye to the roads, bus stops and taxi ranks, the new plans boats a wide open walking space, which can be seen in full here.

The space is going to be tailored to buses, the Luas and pedestrians, which will mean new routes for anyone driving around the city.

There's a public consultation in action until May 23, and if everything is agreed upon, the changes will roll out around summer 2017. While the plans show major changes to the area, we have to admit it looks quite nice and spacious – but it'll take a while to get used to.
