Ed Sheeran has proven once again what an absolute legend he is.

The singer is in Ireland doing lots of promotional work as well as attending his cousin’s wedding in Spiddal.

Despite all of this, Ed still managed to do a secret gig in Dublin last night!

He performed for a small (but very lucky) crowd in Doyle's pub on D'Olier Street as part of the weekly Ruby sessions.

But that's not all, the Don’t singer also praised our lovely city in an Instagram snap this morning, writing: “Played a secret gig for the Ruby sessions last night in Dublin. Always the best gigs of the year for me.”

Ed will also be making an appearance at the HMV store on Henry St. today at 12pm.

We think it’s fair to say he loves us.

Ok – we have just about gotten over the whole horse meat scandal. But now, research carried out by the Food Safety Authority of Ireland and the Health Service Executive has found that seven out of 20 lamb kebabs ordered from takeaways in Dublin contain little or no lamb.

Six of them contain over 60% chicken and 30% beef, and only three of the seven had any trace of lamb at all (between one and five per cent).

There’s no horse in your kebab though, nor was there any goat, pig or turkey.

Prof Alan Reilly, Chief Executive of the FSAI is not impressed:

“When you order a lamb kebab you expect to get a lamb kebab and not a beef and chicken kebab.  Incorrectly listing meat products on a menu or menu board, whether inadvertently or by design, is an unacceptable infringement of the labelling legislation.”

Will this stop you from tucking into a kebab this weekend? Yeah, us neither. We love chicken!

The Feminist Film Festival will take place in the New Theatre, 43 Essex Street in Templebar on August 30th and 31st.

The aim of the festival is to counteract the lack of women in film, aswell as their misrepresentation by providing a platform for short films that encompass, express, illustrate or open discourse around feminist principles and women’s experiences.

They’re looking for filmmakers to send a YouTube link of their short and 100-150 words about why it should be screened at the festival to info@feministfilmfestivaldublin.com. All shorts must be 5-15 minutes in length and the deadline is 5pm Wednesday July 30th.

All the proceeds from the festival go to Sasane, a non-profit charity organisation in Nepal run by and for victims of sex trafficking.

So, go on! Get filming!

Dublin’s seagulls have been getting a very bad rep for themselves lately, and now Irish singer Bressie has declared war on them!

It seems The Voice Ireland judge was at the mercy of some feisty gulls while out training for his triathlon yesterday.

“The sea gulls got me. We are in a war people,” the singer tweeted last night, with a snap of a pretty nasty head wound.

“Day before triathlon and split head. Good start,” he added.

Poor Bressie!

Bressie’s gull bashing comes after a Fianna Fail senator called on the Government to take action against “raucous” seagulls that are attacking young children.

Ned O’Sullivan said seagulls have “lost the run of themselves” in Dublin City and are even taking lollipops from children.

We wonder if there’s such a thing as Anger Management classes for birds…

About 50 fans have taken to the streets of Dublin to protest Dublin City Council's decision not to grant a license for the five night event.

The fans marched from the GPO to the DCC offices to voice their disagreement at the decision, complete with signs and cowboy hats!

Many of the protesters described how they had travelled far and wide for the concerts and now feel severely let down by the turn of events.

There has been no update on the concerts as of yet, which were due to be held from the 25th to the 29th July.

Lead singer Jared Followill posted a snap and video to Instagram, showing the gift they received from Kodaline – their own Guinness pump – with a note that read, ‘Happy 4th of July from Kodaline. Have a few cheeky Guinness on us…’

A FEW?!

Their mega gift from Bono and the boys was a hamper of pricey champagne and, of course, more Guinness!

Jared posted the snap to Instagram with the caption, “Always classy. Always welcoming. The band that taught us how to do things on the road”.

We’re sure KOL  had a night to remember…or not, after their epic Marlay Park gig, thank to our Irish stars!

While most of us were still fast asleep at six this morning, hundreds of people were dancing away at Dublin’s first yoga rave.

The idea which was originally launched by a company called Morning Glory in New York – finally found its way to the Yoga Hub on Camden Street this morning.

Even though most raves are associated with a few alcoholic beverages, organisers insisted that attendees had to arrive at the event sober.

The next morning rave is taking place on August 6th at 6.30am.

Well it’s one way to start the day!
