Could Ed Sheeran make us love him anymore? Evidently, yes.

Following the scandal on Sunday night’s X Factor NZ where contestant Joe Irvine was cruelly targeted by judges Natalia Kills and Willy Moon, Ed has lent his two cents to the argument.

Tweeting to Joe, Ed wrote: “@jooe64_joe don’t worry about what anyone else says man. Enjoy yourself with it, that’s what singing is about, not what other people think.”

Excuse us, there’s just something in our eye…

Needless to say, Joe was over the moon (sorry) about Ed's kind words, replying: "@edsheeran thank u so much I'm a huge fan of yours love all your songs I really want to meet you."

Thankfully, Natalia and her husband have now been fired from the X Factor panel and won’t be given another chance to inflict such hurt on any other contestants.

For such a nice guy, Ed Sheeran gets a seriously bad time of it!

The singer shared an image of one of his many pieces of fan mail on Instagram today, and now we just want to give the poor fella a hug.

The letter, which Ed received from a Korean fan, went as follows:

"To Ed Sheeran (my great singer)
I hope you love the shirt.
You are little ugly but I love you!
Please wear this shirt and get some 2015 concert tour!
From Lee Jaung In (your fan)"

Now, we're sure something got a little lost in translation there, but was there really any need to use the word "ugly"?!

The singer shared the photo with the caption "God Bless Korea," so luckily he didn't seem too put out, and his fans were quick to reassure him a little bit, with one writing, "He's so perfect ! What is wrong with that person!" and another saying "thats sweet but not really…. Wtfudge?!"

Well, we hope the shirt was nice at least… and that the singer is following his own advice today:

Our love for Ed Sheeran grows on a daily basis, which is why his latest comments have our hearts in absolute tatters right now.

Opening up in an interview with The Sun newspaper this weekend, the BRIT Award winner revealed that he once considered wearing a girdle because he was worried about his weight.

“I tried it on for an awards show because I was wearing a shirt and my belly just went nuts. I was just like, ‘No, this isn’t happening.’ It was like a corset,” said the 24-year-old.

Aw, Ed!

While his insight is enough to have us reaching for the tissues, thankfully Ed added that he is quite content to be ‘normal’.

“I’ve never had a six-pack and that’s like most of the guys in the world. We just want to eat burgers, not do sit-ups,” added the Don’t singer.

If you ever find yourself reaching for that girdle, Ed, just remember – to us, you are perfect!

Charleville Lodge in Dublin has come under some serious fire this afternoon after a rather tasteless Facebook status they wrote went viral.

In relation to Croke Park's Ed Sheeran concerts this summer, the hotel's status read: "For the attention of the people giving out about our prices on the nights of 24th and 25th July 2015” went on to offend prospective customers with phrases such as: “If you are expecting reduced rates on these nights, you need your head examined” and “At the end of the day, beggars can’t be choosers”.

The biggest shock of all came when the hotel listed ‘alternative accoamdation’ for guests before listing the details to St. Vincent De Paul, Dublin’s Simon Community, Peter Mc Verry Trust and the DSPCA Pet Boarding Kennels.

Needless to say people have been horrified but it seems the hotels plan of action is to only rub salt into the wound, so far refusing to apologise and saying only that they plan to share the three ‘funniest’ calls of complaint on Facebook later on…

This isn’t the first time Charleville Lodge has gotten on the wrong side of the Irish nation, last year proclaiming that the Garth Brooks concerts were back on, inciting further rage to a very, er, delicate situation.

We’re waiting with baited breath on this one…

Oh gaaawd…these are the kind of photos that make us want to never drink again.

Ed Sheeran had many things to celebrate last night after walking away with two BRIT Awards, one for Best British Solo Artist and one for Best Album. And it looks like he definitely made the most of his big night, as he was pictured leaving the Warner Music after-party looking… well…  little worse for wear!

Poor Ed had to be held up by his security team and manager who led him to a waiting taxi:

One onlooker said that the singer “was so dazed that he managed to walk head first into a lamp post before finding his footing,” according to MailOnline. Ah, we’ve all been that soldier, to be fair!

The 24-year-old had taken to the mic at the Warner party to entertain guests, including Daisy Lowe, Charli XCX, Rita Ora, Rob Pattinson and FKA Twigs, and Orlando Bloom, and judging by these pictures, the drinks were definitely flowing.

Rather than heading to McDonalds and home to bed (as we would have done), Ed instead went on to The Box nightclub in London where he continued partying until 6am with pal Sam Smith.

We reckon the Thinking Out Loud singer has a VERY sore head this morning… but at least he’s waking up to the news that his two Irish gigs sold out completely within just one hour earlier today! Every cloud, eh…

Today is a BIG day for Ed Sheeran fans in the Emerald Isle. A VERY big day. The biggest.

This morning, at 9am, tickets will go on sale for two Irish gigs by the hit singer in Dublin's Croke Park on July 24th and 25th.

We reckon they'll sell out in minutes so you're going to need to be prepared for some serious (but short-lived) stress!

Here are a few tips to get you through…

1. Set an alarm
Even if you're up and about already, you don't want to find yourself getting distracted come show time! So set an alarm (or three) for 8.55am. Ed thinks you're doing GREAT so far.

 

2. REMAIN CALM!
Have your card details at hand, ensure there's enough money in your account, track down your Ticketmaster login details, and take a few deep breaths. Ed's watching out for you.

 

3. Have a cup of tea on hand
Not too near your keyboard, mind. You don't want to short circuit your computer two minutes before the tickets go on sale. Follow Ed's example:

 

4. Play some soothing music to help you chill out

5. Have someone trying to buy tickets on another computer/phone/tablet too

Ah Ed, how we love you…

The singer has had one hell of week in the US; from performing at the Grammy Awards and singing a duet with Queen Bey to going for dinner with the superstar and her rapper husband, Jay-Z.

However, it hasn’t all been rosy as newspapers began to circulate a story stating that Lady Gaga had mistaken him for a waiter. The rumour began when a fake Ed Sheeran account tweeted about the embarrassing incident.

The real Ed wasn’t too impressed by the rumour and tweeted: “Newspapers are writing stories based on tweets from a fake parody account, that’s what it’s come to.”

Lady Gaga also blasted the story on Twitter, writing: “Silly stories about me & @edsheeran! Of course I know who this gem is! THERE ARE NO WAITERS AT THE GRAMMYS PEOPLE.”

The pair then posed for a selfie together where Ed showed his funny side and took it all in his stride, writing: “Just bumped into gaga and she’s fetching me a drink. God bless the press.”

Well, everyone else can just give up because we have just witnessed the best musical collaboration of all time!

Last night Ed Sheeran appeared at a Stevie Wonder tribute concert in Los Angeles' Nokia Theatre to duet with none other than… Beyoncé!

The pair performed three Stevie Wonder hits for the audience – Master Blaster, Fingertips and Higher Ground.

Oasis frontman Noel Gallagher learnt the hard way that you just DON'T mess with Ed Sheeran, after he made a throwaway comment about the singer earlier this month.

Speaking to music magazine NME, Noel branded Ed's music as "polished pop," adding, "I don’t think I can live in a world where [Sheeran playing Wembley] is even possible." Ouch!

Ed was quick to respond with a tongue-in-cheek message on Twitter to put Noel in his place:

Now though, the Thinking Out Loud singer has revealed that he also contacted Noel directly to get some mischievous revenge. "I texted him because I have his number and asked him if he’d like some tickets," the singer told Radio 2. "He wrote back, ‘You cheeky so and so. My daughter would love some.'"

See, even Noel can't resist Ed's charms!

Luckily the Oasis star's comments won't result in a lifelong feud, as Ed says he understands that these things have to happen. "He’s always going to be the guy who’s outspoken,” he said. “I wasn’t offended. I found it quite cool to be in his interview."

The red-haired singer added that every celebrity needs a certain level of criticism to stay down to earth. "“I get a lot of stick from press and people but it’s good to get stick,” he said. “If you speak to anyone from Adele to Chris Martin, they would say they are grounded cos they get a hiding from the press."

We're not sure we'd have taken things quite so well, but kudos to Ed!
