Ed Sheeran has proven once again what an absolute legend he is.

The singer is in Ireland doing lots of promotional work as well as attending his cousin’s wedding in Spiddal.

Despite all of this, Ed still managed to do a secret gig in Dublin last night!

He performed for a small (but very lucky) crowd in Doyle's pub on D'Olier Street as part of the weekly Ruby sessions. 

But that's not all, the Don’t singer also praised our lovely city in an Instagram snap this morning, writing: “Played a secret gig for the Ruby sessions last night in Dublin. Always the best gigs of the year for me.”

Ed will also be making an appearance at the HMV store on Henry St. today at 12pm. 

We think it’s fair to say he loves us.

Oh no, poor Ed! The singer was hit with a plastic bottle while performing on stage back in 2011.

Somehow, the video is only now coming to light and fans on Twitter have gotten into a frenzy.

#DefendEd has begun to trend on the social media site as fans stick up for their beloved Ed.

Aww, it must be lovely to have such caring fans, but surely Ed has forgotten about this terrible moment by now!

There is exciting news for Ed Sheeran this week, as it has been revealed that his new album is the highest selling record of this year so far!

The singer shared his happiness at the news, taking to his Twitter account and writing: “182k sold in the UK week one making it the fastest selling album of the year. I’m on cloud 9 and keep laughing at everything. love you all x.”

Ed has been hard at work for the last few years, between writing his new album and touring with his best friend, Taylor Swift.

We hope he finds some time to celebrate this amazing news!

Courteney Cox surprised fans this morning by tweeting a photo of herself and Snow Patrol’s Johnny McDaid with the caption: “I’m engaged to him!”

Johnny also posted the same picture saying: “I’m engaged to her!”

Awh! Courteney was spotted out with a huge diamond last night and speculation was rising about whether or not they were actually engaged – we’re delighted it’s true!

The pair were on holiday in Amanyara in Turks and Caicos to celebrate Monica’s – sorry – COURTENEY’S 50th birthday. An eye witness saw the pair out together:

“It was very romantic and a beautiful setting. Courteney looked like there was nowhere else in the world she would rather be and just so happy to be doing what she was doing. Johnny was doting on her, rubbing her leg and passing her a cold towel when she got hot. They seem very happy together and totally in love.”

Courteney and Johnny were first spotted out together at Jennifer Aniston’s party in Bel Air, California, and Ed Sheeran revealed that it was actually him that introduced them!

“I wasn’t allowed to talk about this, actually, but it’s just gone public so… My housemate [McDaid] who I’ve lived with for a year, I introduced him to Courteney Cox. They started dating and [are] crazy about each other.

“I ended up spending a lot of time living in her beach house and therefore bumping into all these random people. We spent Thanksgiving eve at Jennifer Aniston’s before spending the day at Courteney’s.”

Wow, Ed is really hanging out with the right kind of people!

Ed Sheeran has opened up about his best friend and fellow musician Taylor Swift in a recent interview.

Ed described Taylor as an old soul and believes she is a “middle-aged woman” trapped in 24-year-old’s body.

“I know she’s 24 but she’s a sort of middle-aged woman trapped in a 24-year-old’s body. She hangs out with her cat and sews things.”

Well Taylor is living up to her old soul image as she recently shared a picture of her new kitten on Instagram.

When questioned on his age and whether he was also an old soul at heart, the singer reveals that it can vary.

“My soul age differs from day to day. It can be eight or 80. It just depends on what I’m doing. If I’m working it’s usually pretty spot-on for work, but if I’m with my friends and the clock’s off I’ll go back to being young.”

Hmmm, we wonder what Taylor thinks about Ed’s recent comments?

Taylor Swift has admitted that she is jealous of Ed Sheeran’s voice.

We know, we wanted her to be jealous of a girl too, but let’s face it, these two are never, ever gonna happen. Ever.

In a glimpse of Ed’s MTV documentary Nine Days and Nights, Taylor can be seen saying she is super jealous of Ed’s smooth voice, “The first thing that struck me was his voice. I’ve never been more jealous of anything in my life.”

Aww, we love Ed’s voice too, Taylor!

Ed supported Taylor on her Red tour last year and the two became very close with much speculation that they were dating.

Singer, Ed Sheeran has revealed that he is planning on converting a former police station in his hometown of Framlingham, Suffolk into a youth centre.

According to sources, the 23-year-old singer has invested £1.6 million into the construction project.

Ed Sheeran spoke of his excitement for the youth centre recently and said he discovered his own love of music at his local youth centre before it got sold on.

”I’m really excited about the project. I had a youth club from when I was 12 when I grew up which did a battle of the bands every week and that’s where I and other bands started playing. Then the land the club was on was sold… and I just went off to London and did shows instead. Now there’s no youth club and nothing to do so it’s a bad situation.”

But Sheeran also admitted that the youth club will factor into his future retirement plans.

“The plan when I get older is to end up running that (the youth club) – so I have pretty much planned my retirement.”

Awww that’s sweet Ed, but we don’t think you will be retiring for a long time yet.

Everyone has been speculating who Ed Sheeran’s song, Don’t, is written about – and now we know!

Ed appeared on The Ellen Show to talk about his new album, X, when he told Ellen who he wrote about.

It was about Ellen! We knew it…

It doesn’t look as if Ellen wants to talk about it thought, perhaps she is worried Portia is watching!

Hopefully Ed will reveal who the angry song is about one day, but for now it’s a guessing game.

Did you miss out on tickets for Ed Sheeran’s Irish tour dates in October? Then fear not!

Ed has just added another date to his tour in Ireland and will now be playing the 3rd of October as well as the sold-out dates of the 4th, 5th and 6th.

Tickets will be going on sale this Friday, May 15 at 9am and will be available from Ticketmaster.

Better set that alarm if you want to grab these bad boys – we reckon they’ll sell out in no time!

The announcement comes not long after Ed played a secret gig in Dublin’s Vicar Street which was live streamed on his website.

It looks like he just really loves us, you guys!
