A 14-year-old paperboy has been labelled the ‘next Ed Sheeran’ by music mogul Simon Cowell.
Britain’s Got Talent hopeful Bailey McConnell blew away the judges on the show last night, receiving a standing ovation for his performance.
After moving the audience to tears, the schoolboy confessed he penned the song Dying Hole, after falling out with one of his friends.
“One of my close, close, close friends turned on me. It was unexpected and it really hurt me,” he said.
A teary David Walliams gushed, “‘What is there not to like about you? Fantastic voice, you played beautifully and you can write really incredible songs.
“Often the best singer-songwriters have to go through something really tough and turn it into something really beautiful and we can all unite because we’ve all had some experience like that… I get it. I get it.”
And now Simon, who was in LA during Bailey’s audition, is reportedly very eager to sign the talented singer to his record label Syco, and has called him a young Ed Sheeran in the making.
While he may look more like Justin Bieber, we hope the super cute singer doesn’t follow in the bold star’s footsteps!
