Who knew Saoirse Ronan was such a messer?

The Carlow beauty is set to star in Ed Sheeran’s Galway Girl video which was filmed in Galway last week and it looks like the pair had a few laughs on set.

Ed, who is no stranger to body-art, asked Saoirse to write the title of the song on his arm so that he could get it tattooed in her handwriting.

However, our Saoirse saw the opportunity for a bit of mischief and ran with it.

Instead of 'Galway Girl', Saoirse wrote 'Galway Grill', which has now been permanently inked on Ed’s arm.

Speaking to the crowd at his gig in Glasgow on Sunday night, the singer said, "When we were filming it I meant to get a tattoo of her handwriting saying Galway Girl from her point of view.’’

"It actually says Galway Grill.  G-R-I-L-L.  She really took the p*** out of me.  Full on!"

Ed admitted that he was actually quite impressed by Saoirse’s creativity and isn’t holding any grudges.

“I’m actually quite proud of her. It’s the kind of thing I would do.”

G'wan Saoirse!

In the week following Ed Sheeran's two sell-out shows at Dublin's 3Arena, the singer has revealed that he is set to appear on the new series of BBC Radio 4’s Desert Island Discs next month.

The iconic radio show was first broadcast in January 1942 and has been a firm favourite with listeners ever since.

Each week a guest, dubbed the ‘castaway’, is asked to choose eight recordings they would want to have with them if they were stranded on a desert island.

The guest then discusses their picks with presenter, Kirsty Young.

According to NME, Ed will also choose a book and a luxury item to take to the fictional island.

He follows the likes of Bruce Springsteen, Kylie Minogue and Michael Bublé who have all previously been guests on the show.

The Galway Girl singer has already recorded his episode which is due to air on Sunday, May 7 at 11.15am, and we can't wait to hear what he picks.

Ed Sheeran has denied claims that he is cultural stereotyping in his songs about Ireland on his new album Divide.

The Galway Girl singer was criticised for some of his tracks during the week, but Ed backed it all up by saying he was writing from experience.

He told Dermot and Dave on Today FM: "I’m telling you, every time I’ve been in Ireland I’ve ended up at a lock in where people sing and dance.

"And every single time an Irish woman has out-drunk me. So I’m not stereotyping a culture. This is what I’ve experienced."

And speaking about trad music, Ed said he'd like to keep it alive in his tunes.

"What I would like to happen is that this becomes the norm now. Maybe this is the start of something.

"The way that Planxty and The Chieftains were massive in their time, I would like that to be a similar thing now.

"I grew up on trad music. I got to have tea with Christy Moore which was pretty cool. I have a great love for Ireland and the Irish culture.

"I came here four times a year for pretty much all my life and this is actually the biggest market for me in the world," he added.

Ed Sheeran, everyone's favourite flame-headed singer-songwriter, brought his Divide tour to Dublin this week.

The 26-year-old performed two sold out shows at the 3Arena – and he absolutely killed it.

Twitter is flooded with pictures and videos that are making us beyond jealous we couldn't be there.

With such a heavy Irish folk influence on tracks like Galway Girl and Nancy Mulligan, the Dublin shows were sure to create some moments of magic.

Ed even treated the crowd to a cover of Steve Earle's original Galway Girl

Everyone was feeling the love during Ed's performance of Perfect, arguably one of the cutest songs on the new album, but one lad took it to the next level by getting down on one knee.

Here's the moment she said YES, complete with a cheeky smile from Ed himself.

The crowds weren't the only ones enjoying themselves though. Ed was full of smiles throughout both performances, even telling the crowd "I knew that this was going to be the best concert of the tour".

And although he probably says that in every city, we're pretty sure he actually meant it this time.

So, Ed Sheeran is currently in the country playing his sold out gigs in the 3Arena, Dublin.

While visiting the emerald isle, the singer took the time to visit Galway to shoot a music video for his smash hit single Galway Girl.

The star was spotted in a pub in Salthill, Galway, and as word began to spread about his location, a crowd gathered.

Uploading a snap of the crowd to Instagram, the singer said: "Thank you to Galway and all the wonderful people in it for helping us shoot a music video yesterday."

Never one to be exclusive, the singer also took to Instagram last night after performing the first of two sold-out gigs in the capital.

Ed snapped a picture of the crowd, captioning it "Dublin night 1."

While the singer was in town, he revealed to 98FM’s Big Breakfast that Tommy Tiernan features in his new music video.

While chatting about the video, the singer revealed that the comic asked him if the mayhem in Galway on Tuesday evening happens a lot.

"I said to him I shot a video in my home town in Suffolk and literally nothing near what happened in Galway. I do think it's just an Irish thing. I don't think there's any other place in the world like Ireland for me," Ed replied.

Ed is clearly as big a fan of the Irish people as we are of him.

We love Ed Sheeran here at the SHEmazing! HQ, so when we found out that he was in the country, we got a little excited.

Ed Sheeran was reportedly spotted in a pub in Salthill, Galway yesterday evening.

The singer was there shooting a music video for his smash success single, Galway Girl, so it was only right that he shot the video in the West.

The singer was in O'Connor's pub in Salthill, and rumours of his presence drew a curious crowd.

Ed obviously has a soft spot for Galway, after busking there as a teen, and now, paying homage to the county in his new song.

The singer is also in town ahead of his sold-out concerts in the 3 Arena Dublin.

Ed Sheeran was in hot water last year when he was accused of plagiarising his hit single Photograph.

The musician was accused of copying "note-for-note"from a song called Amazing, which was previously released by X Factor winner Matt Cardle.

The singer has settled the claim to the tune of a cool $20 million, or €18 million.

The case was taken out against Ed and his songwriting partner Johnny McDaid of Snow Patrol fame by the songwriters of Amazing.

"This copying is, in many instances, verbatim, note-for-note copying, makes up nearly one half of Photograph, and raises this case to the unusual level of strikingly similar copying," they said in the complaint.

Ed was accused of copying 36 of the 39 notes in the chorus of the song.

"This is not my lawsuit. I think Ed Sheeran is a genius and 100 per cent deserves all his success," said Amazing singer Matt Cardle.

So, it turns out Ed Sheeran could be to blame for those late night trips to the drive-thru.

Well sort of!

According to The Guardian, a study conducted by the Swedish Retail Institute found that certain songs increased customers spending at an unnamed US fast-food chain by up to 9.1 per cent.

Philip Graves, a consumer behaviour expert, explains: “Music triggers associations in our brain… The way in which we process our environment is primarily unconscious. What gets passed through to us is a feeling, and that feeling is then misattributed to the thing we are looking at.”

So basically, the more you like the song, the more food you'll buy!

Also speaking to the paper, Magnus Rydén, head of music at Soundtrack Your Brand, admitted that songs which are  “welcoming, modern, and expressive” are often used by retailers to target millennials.

So what's this got to do with Ed? Well apparently ‘’the perfect burger-and-shake tune’’ is hard to define, but Ed Sheeran’s Shape of You comes pretty close.

Now there you have it, next time you're tucking into a cheeky burger and chips you can thank Ed for the food coma!

Ed Sheeran proved that he truly is a divine being during his trip to Liberia for Comic Relief.

After filming an appeal in a Liberian slum for the charity, the red haired singer was shook after witnessing the conditions that the young boys were facing.

The star immediately felt that he couldn’t leave without trying to protect the child, and chose to pay out of his own pocket to help them.

The young boy, named JD, had been sleeping rough in the slums.

"JD & his friends, who @EdSheeran met, are now safe but many more children still live in danger."

"Help us help them http://www.rednoseday.com,” reads a tweet from Comic Relief.

Ed Sheeran and Rupert Grint probably get mistaken for one another all the time, especially after the insane Lego House doppelganger video.

Ed has been having a very exciting year thanks to the success of his new tune Shape Of You, and now Rupert is trying his hand at the lyrics.

Sticking to his acting roots, rather than singing the tune, Rupert is acting them out through a dramatic reading.

The results are as funny as you would think, especially when it comes to reading the multiple  "Oh, I" refrains in the chorus.

How Rupert held it together so well, we'll never know.
