Galway is one of the country's finest counties, and the girls from the west now officially have two very famous songs written about them.

Ed Sheeran's Galway Girl has taken Ireland by storm, and Galwegians have been calling for a mash up between Ed's offering and Mundy's popular tune of the same name.

Luckily, one of Galway's best pubs has just released a video, shot in Galway, featuring a Galway lad mashing up both tunes.

That's a lot of Galway all in one three minute clip.

Guitarist John Gaughan has combined both Galway Girl songs to create one epic hybrid of homage to Galwegian women.

We have to say, it's seriously good.

Have a little listen for yourself:

Hold the phone – Ed Sheeran is creating his very own boyband, and it's like something we never knew we wanted.

Because, let's be honest, most boybands have had their time; but an Ed Sheeran boyband? Now that's what we're talking about.

The singer is in the middle of auditioning aspiring performers to make a "superpop" group.

The handsome red head graced the cover of Rolling Stone this month, and the feature inside claims Ed is “in the process of auditioning members of a boy band” and has “already written lots of songs for the group."

The songs are “really, really decent. Superpop, but obviously credible."

He added that he will also want to take the successful lads on tour with him: “I’m gonna put three or four boys together and do all the songs, take them on the stadium tour with me.”

We can't wait for this!

Fans of Ed Sheeran were delighted to see his nanny yesterday, who appeared on RTÉ's Today.

Nancy, who lives in Co. Wexford, was interviewed after Ed released a song about her, Nancy Mulligan, during the week.

RTÉ viewers looked in wonder as she told stories about Ed's childhood and how he hasn't let fame go to his head, staying much the same as he was as a teenager.

Nancy also got to listen to Ed's new track, and was very modest in her reaction to a song being written about her.

Watch the video here of her time on the show.

Nancy, you were a delight.

Ed Sheeran has been having a moment with Ireland, between his new song Galway Girl tugging at all of our heart strings, and his sold out Irish tour dates.

We thought all hope was lost when it came to ever getting tickets to Ed's gig, but now the singer is giving us some hope.

The star has come up with a treasure hunt, in which people have to find the lyrics to Ed's song in an unknown place marked by coordinates on this map.

The undisclosed location has already been revealed by some fans to be Eyre Square, Galway, which is fitting seeing as Ed's one that got away clearly lives there, according to his new tune.

Ed fans have until March 10 to get down to Galway and take a picture with the lyrics to be in with a chance of winning tickets to his sold out 3 Arena gig as well as a meet and greet.

Fans then have to upload the image it to social media with the hashtag, #DivideLyricsIE.

The M6 is going to be chock-a-block!

Twitter is losing the plot over Ed Sheeran's new album, but one song in particular is standing out to fans.

When Ed originally released his track list, there was one song that really caught Irish fans' eyes.

The new song, called Galway Girl, was released at midnight last night along with all the rest, and the hashtag is now trending in Ireland.

“I’ve got a trad band called Beoga. They’re actually from Belfast, but they’ve – it’s a fiddle, a pipe, a bodhrán and piano. And we really jam,” he explained to Eoghan McDermott on his 2FM show.

“It’s going to be good. I do think I’ll never be able to play another song in Ireland again because this will be the song."

With mentions of Guinness, Grafton Street, céili dancing and Carrickfergus, Ed's definitely paying homage to our Emerald Isle.

Whoever this song is written about clearly left a lasting impression on Ed!

We've been listening to it on repeat all morning.

Oh, if we could have been a fly on the wall when this happened!

Ed Sheeran has admitted to accidentally hitting Justin Bieber on the face with the golf club.

Speaking to The Guardian, Ed said that they were in Japan at the time, and he got "hammered" in a dive bar. The lads then went to a golf course where the incident happened.

"We were in Japan. We'd been out to a dive bar. He just drank water and I got hammered.

"Then we went to a golf course, and he lay on the floor and put a golf ball in his mouth and told me to hit it out of his mouth. I was like, 'f*ck, I need to aim this properly,' and I swung.

"I'd cracked Justin Bieber right in the cheek with a golf club. That was one of those 'what the f*ck' moments."

What a night out that must have been.

Tonight at midnight, Ed Sheeran finally releases his new album, ÷ (Divide).

To celebrate the hotly anticipated moment, there are Ed Sheeran album parties going on up and down the country.

Tower Records, on Dawson Street, Dublin are opening their doors at midnight for fans to pick up the album as soon as humanly possible.

The classic Dublin music store is also giving away two tickets to his April gig in the 3 Arena.

Those tickets are more sought after than a golden Wonka Bar find, so we can't imagine the scrum to get through the door!

OMG@Zhivago in Galway will also be opening the doors at the midnight hour for fans to get a hardcopy of the red-haired singer's tunes.

We cannot wait to hear all of the singer's brand new music.

We have been waiting over a year, after all.

So, Ed Sheeran is having a major moment, between the rest of his highly anticipated album ÷ (Divide) coming out today and beginning preparations for his world tour.

The singer also has two amazing singles at the top of the charts, Castle on the Hill and Shape of You, and the latter just got a pretty creative makeover.

Walk off the Earth is a multi-faceted group who cover popular tracks using unconventional musical means.

The crew just covered Shape of You, foregoing guitars and instead opting for pipes, spoons, shells, a kazoo and some seriously strong vocals to recreate the track in a unique way.

There is even a bowl of popcorn and some seriously impressive gymnastics involved. Oh, and an adorable toddler.

The band also remixed the song with TLC's noughties classic No Scrubs and Blackstreet's No Diggity, so if you thought Shape of You was good on its own, wait until you hear it combined with the R'n'B tracks.

We're adding it to our predrinks playlist right this second.

So we're obviously massive fans of Ed Sheeran here at the SHEmazing! headquarters, but when we saw these snaps of the star, we nearly couldn't cope.

If it was possible for us to love the red-haired singer more than we already did, then that's what happened when when we laid our eyes on this image of Ed leaving the Brit Awards after-party, hand-in-hand with his long-term girlfriend Cherry Seaborn.

Ed decided to go barefoot after his GF's Louboutin heel snapped, giving her his shoes to wear instead.

A post shared by People Magazine (@people) on

Predictably, our hearts completely melted.

And to be honest, she actually kind of rocks this look.

Ed even carried Cherry's heels for her after they snapped, what an absolute gentleman.

The couple have been friends for years, and have been dating for two years.

Where can we get ourselves a gent like Ed?

Ed Sheeran's Brit Awards performance was absolutely deadly, and when Stormzy arrived on stage to assist Ed with his symphonic sounds, we nearly lost it.

He performed his two new singles Castle On The Hill and Shape Of You, with Stormzy collaborating on the latter to create an amazing new song.

The new song is absolutely unbelievable, and is being hailed as a "work of art" by fans, who are keeping their fingers crossed that grime artist Stormzy might make a guest appearance at some of Ed's shows on his world tour.

Not content with re-creating one amazing tune, Ed Sheeran followed in his own footsteps by dropping not one, but two new versions of Shape Of You this morning.

The second remix is by Major Lazer, who headlined at Longitude last year, and the electronic music collective have made their version of the song almost unrecognisable.

Ed Sheeran has clearly brought his A-game after his 365 day sabbatical.

Ed Sheeran popped into BBC Radio 1’s Live Lounge recently for an acoustic session, which has gone completely viral overnight.

The star covered Little Mix's latest hit Touch, but gave the peppy pop song a major Ed makeover.

Slowing down the tempo and adding some gentle harmonies made the song almost unrecognisable, and people are loving it.

The Little Mix girls completely approved, tweeting to the chart-topping singer that he had "smashed it."

Although Ed Sheeran could probably cover just about anything and make it sound top notch.
