Ladies, hold on to your tents – there’s RAIN a comin’.

While Irish festival goers know only too well not to expect Coachella-style climes at home, it sure would be nice not to have to buy a boat before this weekend’s highly anticipated Electric Picnic.

Unfortunately though this coming weekend is on its way with one simple warning: DON’T forget your wellies!

Met Eireann has reported good news for those with a Friday EP pass as – some scattered showers aside – “a good deal of dry weather” is predicted as the favoured festival gets underway.

But sadly the truly dedicated revellers amongst us could be facing “wet and blustery [conditions] with persistent rain” for the rest of the weekend as showers will be a feature of Saturday night and Sunday.

So if your mam offers you a raincoat, poncho or brollie as you head off to Stradbally, make sure you take it.

This year's Electric Picnic is set to be better than ever.

Not only are we going to be able to swim in a lake (which will be… interesting) BUT there's also a Fr Ted song contest taking place. YAAAS.

We all remember the episode where Ted and Dougal sang My Lovely Horse, and well, the comp is going to be a little like that.

But even better, is that there's going to be a mini-reunion. Eoin Mc Love and Fr Damo Lennon (Patrick McDonnell and Joe Rooney) are stopping by Stradbally Hall to judge A Rubbish New Song For Europe.

The competition is open to everyone and you can check out the details on the EP website.

With this year's stellar line-up, we know that Electric Picnic 2016 was going to sell out fast.

But no one was expecting it to sell out this fast!

Without warning, EP social media pages shared those most dreaded of words yesterday evening: "Sold out."

While a sigh of relief was heard by those who had got in there early and purchased their ticket, there was an audible collective murmer of PANIC.

Stradbally's annual music and arts festival is setting up shop on the 2nd of Sep and with acts such as Lana del Rey, LCD Soundsystem, Haim and The Chemical Brothers, it's little wonder that tickets were snapped up in record time.

Still, there is reams of fans who are not dealing well with the sudden news:

Phones, wallets, bank cards, guitars, dignity… we've all lost something at a music festival over the years.

With over 50,000 revellers attending this year's Electric Picnic, it's no surprise that Gardaí in Stradbally and Portlaoise have been left with piles of homeless items.

If you've lost a bank card, passport or driving licence, it will have been sent back to the issuing authority or your bank branch, so call them rather than the police. But if you're hoping to be reunited with your phone or another item, there are a few things you can do.

Speaking to DailyEdge.ie today,  Gardaí said they would be holding an open day in Stradbally Garda Station next Tuesday, September 15th, with all lost items on display between 10am and 5pm.

If you can't make it on the day and can't afford to bribe your mam/brother/boyfriend to attend on your behalf, you can of course call the station and give them your details.

You'll need to be as specific as possible with details so include things like distinguishing features. In the case of wallets be sure to mention what might be inside, and for phones you can give the IMEI number and PIN, plus any screensaver information.

The Gardaí can take your name and contact number and will call you if your information matches up with anything they have in their Lost and Found.

You can contact Portloaise Garda Station on 057 8674100, and the number for the Stradbally station is 057 8625222.

Fingers crossed!

Removed from the joys of Electric Picnic for another year, tired and weary souls are now creeping back to a festival-free reality.

The memories will, of course, live on – and no more so than the 90s Power Party area, which over three days thrilled and delighted thousands of fans of the bygone decade.

Hosted by Electric Ireland, revellers were brought back in time – to a time that may not have boasted Wi-Fi, but instead could champion treasures such as Friends; Dawson’s Creek; Buffy; Clueless, and The Matrix.

It was the era that gave rise to Saved ByThe Bell; to Tupac Shakur, and Michael Jordan – not to mention Power Rangers, and Alanis Morissette’s not-so ironic Ironic.

Nope, it’s hardly surprising that the 90s Power Party stage was pretty much the talk of EP.

With the stage kicking off with 2 Unlimited on Friday, Mark McCabe conquered Stradbally with his throw-back rendition of Maniac on Saturday night. Then the Vengaboys wrapped it all up yesterday.

If you missed it, and sadly not everyone could bear witness to such iconic Nineties-tinged performances, Electric Ireland has kindly stuck the best bits in a 2-minute-long video.

Suffice to say we’ll be watching this on loop for some time…

Electric Picnic is wrapping up today for yet another year.

Sigh.

But as you reminisce about the weekend past, it could be your chance to help St. Vincent de Paul aid the homeless.

Every year hundreds of sleeping mats and sleeping bags are left behind on the mucky grounds of Stradbally.

SVP are asking you to to donate your sleeping bags instead of throwing them in the trash.

The charity partake in weekly soup runs every Monday, where they give hats, scarves, tea, soup and sandwiches to the homeless; and now they have made an appeal to all festival-goers to give their old, unwanted sleeping bags and mats to people in-need.

If you would like to donate your equipment to St. Vincent de Paul, head over to this Facebook page to find out more.

Or get in touch through Twitter.

We hope you enjoyed your time at Electric Picnic and remember; every little helps.

Ah, vodka. The Sex and the City girls always enjoyed a glass or two.

It can bring out the good, the bad and the very ugly.

But it's not hard to see why it's one of the most popular alcoholic drinks around the world – it's very neutral, has no harsh smells, and mixes well with many other drinks.

However, vodka can be used for many other things other than getting sloshed… Shocker!

It can actually be used for medical reasons, hygienic uses, and cleaning solutions around the house too.

Treat a tooth ache

When you start having a tooth ache, pour some vodka on a small cotton ball and put it on the gums around your sore tooth. After a few minutes it will start to alleviate the pain.

Prevents dandruff

Mix a shot glass of vodka with a glass of water and use it to rinse out your hair after washing it with your normal shampoo. This prevents any left over shampoo or dead skin from building up.

Use as a mouthwash

Vodka is a great disinfectant and brilliant for killing odours too. Combine vodka with water and add a few teaspoons of cinnamon to create a refreshing mouthwash.

Bug repellent

Vodka is actually an extremely effective bug repellent. Just pour some into a spray bottle and keep it with you on holidays to warn all the nasty flies away.

Cure jellyfish sting

Instead of going through the clichéd "should I pee on my friend's leg" inner monologue, the next time someone gets stung by a jellyfish try putting vodka on it. It will sooth the sting within 10-20 minutes.

Use as a deodorant

Feeling a bit sticky but have no deodorant on hand? A few squirts of vodka from a spray bottle will do away with any bad odours.

Keep your razor in it

The main reason why razors become so dull so quickly is because small amounts of hair, water and shaving cream are left on the blades after every use. Next time, soak your razor in a cup of vodka, it will totally clean out your blade and disinfect it for your next use.

Clean Windows

Another product that relies primarily on alcohol for its effectiveness is your average window cleaner. Swap it with vodka and it will do just as good of a job.

Clean mould or grease

Greasy dishes or a grubby bathroom? Use vodka and a sturdy brush to remove the dirt easily. For dishes, leave them soaking for about 5 minutes and they will appear as good as new.

Stop clothes from fading

Sometimes dark clothes fade, and the worst thing is they will fade in some places and not in others. To help protect your clothes from this, mix vodka and lavender and spray onto your clothes. They will never fade again – and smell great too.
