There is a new specialty coffee, and it has actual elephant SH*T in it
What will they think of next!
We recently learned that in Thailand, there is a herd of 20 elephants creating the world's most expensive coffee, with their poo…
This exotic new brew is made from coffee beans eaten by the elephants, and plucked a day later from their excrement (pretty!).
According to Blake Dinkin, who has spent over £200,000 developing the coffee, "when an elephant eats coffee, its stomach acid breaks down the protein found in coffee, which is a key factor in bitterness".
"You end up with a cup that's very smooth without the bitterness of regular coffee" he says.
Called Black Ivory Coffee, this special bew has been dubbed the most expensive coffee in the world, at a whopping €50 per cup.
The coffee has been launched at a number of luxury hotels in remote corners of the world – first in northern Thailand, then the Maldives and Abu Dhabi.
While we're sure it tastes delicious, we'll stick to our Starbucks flat whites for now…
