Former X Factor star, Ella Henderson, has been left devastated following her father’s fraud, theft and money laundering chargers.
Ella’s father, Sean Henderson, was charged with the offences yesterday.
It has been widely reported that the former car salesman made his money as a Dubai property developer.
Sean, 49, was charged while her mum Michelle, 51 was released after questioning and will not face any charges.
It is being alleged that Mr Henderson is part of a larger fraud operation: three others were also charged yesterday and police in Britain say a fifth person is likely to be charged at a later date.
"Three other people have also been charged today with related offences and a fifth will be charged later this week," confirmed a police spokesperson.
A family friend told The Sun: "Ella is close to her family and devastated about the charges."
Two properties belonging to Sean and Michelle, both located in North East Lincolnshire, were raided on the 21st of April 2013 and the pair were arrested later that day.
Talking about her parent's arrest, Ella told The Mirror last year: "We're a very strong family, it takes a lot for me to break down or make me cry, someone would have to be terminally ill for that to happen."
Ella, who shot to fame when she competed in The X Factor in 2012, is currently on tour with Take That.
She has previously referred to the band as her "big brothers".
She explained: ''They invited me on tour, which is surreal. I knew Gary [Barlow] from The X Factor and Mark Owen and I did some writing together."
Ella’s first concert with the band is set to take place on Wednesday, June 24 in the Motorpoint Arena in Sheffield.
