Ellen DeGeneres

Kendall Jenner has always been mysteriously private about her dating life, despite the fact that her famous family have cameras filming them 24/7 for Keeping Up With The Kardashians.

Most recently, the model was dating NBA player Ben Simmons until May of this year after 12 months of dating.

A meme has now surfaced on the internet mocking her seeming appreciation for basketball players, and it did NOT go down well…

A Twitter account posted a meme of the "Starting five of NBA players" Kendall was rumoured to have dated, commenting: "This is a playoff team LMAO." Highly mature content altogether.

The image featured Jordan Clarkson from the Cleveland Cavaliers, D’Angelo Russell of Golden State Warriors, Philadelphia 76ers Ben Simmons, LA Lakers’ Kyle Kuzma and Detroit Pistons’ Blake Griffin.

You might say that the Kardashian-Jenner wasn't here for the joke, clapping back; "2 out of 5 accurate, thanks". Go off, sis.

The Victoria's Secret model was referring to Ben Simmons and Blake Griffin, who she was previously seen with. Kendall rarely discloses her relationships in public, but she didn't let this joke pass her by.

Kendall allegedly dated Blake back in 2017, but the distance caused the relationship to fizzle out when he moved to the Detroit Pistons. She confirmed her romance with Ben Simmons on the Ellen DeGeneres show;

"So obviously you’re dating this guy who’s on the 76ers. How long have you been dating him?", Ellen asked. Kendall replied: "For a bit now."

The pair split in May, with a source close to People claiming that the relationship had "ran it's course. She’s spending time with her friends and back to being in fun mode."

Kendall opened up about why she protects her love life to Vogue Australia in May:

"For me, a lot of things are very special and very sacred, like my friends and relationships, and I personally think that bringing things into the public makes everything so much messier.

She added; "I’m very young and right now I feel like relationships aren’t always super-certain and I don’t want to bring too much attention to something if you don’t really know long-term," she continued.

"A relationship is only meant to be between two people, and the second you make it the world’s business is when it starts messing with the two people mentally"

The reality TV star takes privacy seriously; "Like once everyone is let in, you’re letting all these opinions into your relationships, and I don’t think that’s fair."

Kevin Hart has been forced to defend himself yet again after he sent prayers to Jussie Smollet, the Empire actor who experienced a recent horrific racist and homophobic attack.

The 35-year-old singer and actor was hospitalised after a savage attack in which a noose was put around his neck and bleach was poured on him, with the assailants shouting 'This is MAGA country' in a racially-motivated attack.

The homophobic and racist hate crime sparked anger all over America, with celebrities tweeting their support for the actor. Kevin Hart sent the actor prayers through his social media accounts, with the 39-year-old tweeting;

"Sending prayers your way Jussie Smollett ….This is unbelievably sad. Why are we going backwards….this is disgusting. We as people have to do better. WTF is going on the world?"

"Why are we falling in love with hate? God damn it people….Choose love…I repeat…Choose love. I will forever choose love and I will continue to teach my kids how to do the same. Stand strong brother," he concluded.

The tweet sparked yet more backlash online, following the controversy which lead to him stepping down from hosting the 2019 Oscars. A series of homophobic tweets were uncovered from the past, featuring jokes about beating up a gay son.

One social media user responded: "Do you see why the “jokes” weren’t funny now?”, while another replied with one of Kevin’s polarising past tweets reading:

‘”Yo if my son comes home and tries to play with my daughters doll house I’m going to break it over his head and say 'stop that’s gay.'”

Podcaster and writer Ira Madison quote-tweeted Kevin’s tweet about Jussie and wrote: "Your funniest joke congrats." This was the final straw for Hart, who responded with a tweet of his own.

"I stand with a man in his time of hurt and need by giving him heart felt support and u take the time to harp on my ten year past that I have apologised about and moved on from by being a better person. Do you want change? If so I am an example of what u want people to do…CHANGE!" he wrote.

Ira replied, saying;

"I 'harp' because my community of black queer people face violence 365 days in America and when we tried to tell you that we weren’t trolling you but wanted to educate how your jokes lead to actions like what happened to Jussie, you went on Ellen to talk about your wheelchair movie."

Fans of Kevin Hart chose to defend him, saying that he has shown remorse for his past actions and praising him for his support of Jussie.

Hart refused to host the Oscars after the controversy, and Ellen DeGeneres gave him a platform to speak about his past homophobic actions.

The Chicago Police Department have just released CCTV images of two persons of interest in the Smollett case. Nine days ago, he was sent a letter in the post to Fox Studios which read: ‘You will die black f*ggot".

He has received negative attention from racist and homophobic people in America as a result of his role in Empire, where he portrays a rising gay, black singer in the music industry.

Ellen DeGeneres has generated controversy by throwing her support behind comedian Kevin Hart, who was forced to step down as the host of the 2019 Academy Awards following accusations of homophobia.

Hart appeared on The Ellen Show for a full hour to promote his new film, The Upside, and to defend his decision to step down as the Oscars host following the re-surfacing of years-old tweets and quotes.

Ellen interviewed the comedian and according to Variety, said the producers of the Academy Awards "admitted to possibly mishandling Hart's departure” and would be “emphatic” to see him return.

The popular chat show host, and former host of the awards ceremony herself declared; “We want him to host. Whatever we can do, we want him to host.”

He spoke about the issue uninterrupted for nearly six minutes, a rarity on US television, and told Ellen that the Oscars was; "…one of the highest of highs, simply because there hasn't been a lot of African Americans that have been able to do it."

Saying it was "unreal" to be asked to host the coveted awards ceremony on ABC this February, he described the onslaught of social media backlash which followed his appointment and later led to his stepping down;

"To get the moment, celebrate the moment—'Oh, my God! I can't believe it's happen!'—and then the next morning after a day full of congratulations and celebrations, I'm hit with an onslaught on social media of my past coming back up again."

"Literally, the next morning! Not even a full 24 hours to glow in the glory of 'Kevin Hart Is Hosting This Year's Oscars,'" the comic described.

"When it happened, my first thought is, 'I'm going to ignore it. I'm going to ignore it because it's 10 years old. This is stuff I've addressed. I've talked about this. This isn't new. I've addressed it! I've apologised for it. I'm not going to pay it any mind.'"

His controversial tweets were between 2009 and 2011, and the now deleted post reads; “Yo if my son comes home & try’s 2 play with my daughters doll house I’m going 2 break it over his head & say n my voice ‘stop that’s gay’.”

The interview is broadcasting on today's episode of Ellen, with the host saying she believes in "second chances", and believes he deserves to host.

“It’s all they ever wanted him to do, and he’s doing it in spades. So now he should be able to come back on his own terms."

She has incredible influence in the public eye and within the awards circuit herself, so who knows what could happen?

So back in February of 2018, which seems like decades ago at this stage, Heidi Klum declared that she'd be down to f*ck with none other than DRAKE himself.

Imagine that combo? We'd be here for it. Unfortunately, Drake texted her "a week too late", and she ended up ghosting him.

She has now apologised for her Casper move, and it's such a gas. She's the gift that keeps on giving.

It was revealed that the Canadian rap god reached out to the 45-year-old model, but she didn't reply. 'But why??' I hear you ask.

Well, she'd met her now-fiancé; Tom Kaulitz. Case closed.

Ellen, being the sh*t-stirring wizard that she is, responded, “That’s all he responded? Oh, he’s mad.”

Poor Drakey. You snooze, you lose, henny.

The reigning queen of daytime talk TV, Ellen DeGeneres, has spoken about the future of her hugely popular show while out promoting her upcoming Netflix stand-up special, Relatable.

In an interview with The New York Times, the comedy star speaks about her desire to return to acting one day, and maybe even play an 'unappealing' role for once. SOB.

The infamous host evidently wants to explore more of her own personality, as opposed to continuing with her sixteen-year long programme, The Ellen Show.

One of the reasons why Ellen may need a bit of a breather from her show is most likely because of her ultra-nice reputation, which might refrain her from showing other parts of her emotional range;

“The talk show is me, but I’m also playing a character of a talk-show host. There’s a tiny, tiny bit of difference," she says.

She comments on how she can't do anything even slightly rude, no matter the circumstances, as everyone expects her to show her sunny side constantly, or else to break into dance…

She can't even beep a pedestrian who walks out in front of her car, even if it's just the Biebs prancing around in the snow:

Her show rarely has anything negative or serious, unless she's mentioning tragedies or natural disasters taking place in America or around the world for humanitarian efforts.

In fact, she almost didn't extend her contract until 2020- imagine, a world without her show? We just can't.

She discusses the different stances which her brother and wife Portia De Rossi take on the future of her talk show.

Vance believes that his sister needs to remain the beacon of light and hope until at least the current US President resigns (they need her, so badly), whereas Portia thinks her wife should explore other creative outlets;

“I just think she’s such a brilliant actress and standup that it doesn’t have to be this talk show for her creativity. There are other things she could tackle.”

There must be a ridiculous amount of pressure on Ellen's shoulders, the world would potentially shut down if she even uttered a curse word.

We hope she doesn't leave our screens too soon, but Ellen would undoubtedly go on to even greater projects- she's clearly got talent in any role she takes on.

Her anticipated stand-up show Relatable which streams on Netflix on December 18.

We all know and adore Chrissy Teigan; gorgeous model, hilarious social media darling, wife of John Legend and just all-round sound lady.

Teigan visited Ellen DeGeneres on The Ellen Show for a chat to discuss her new cookbook, Cravings 2, and the clapback queen discussed the topic of retouching in the modelling industry.

While some take issue with their hips, thighs or facial area, Teigan confessed that she has a major problem with showing her feet. Random…

Chrissy claims that her feet are so ugly that she has written in her legal contract that they must be retouched or hidden in every photoshoot. This is the gospel truth, we swear.

After casually mentioning her hatred of bare feet, she was quick to cover up her toes while sitting in Ellen's infamous chair.

Chrissy laughed and said jokingly, "I have Asian jungle feet, like we're meant to climb trees." (Her mother is from Thailand, her dad is of Norwegian descent)

Of course Ellen tried to get a good look at those notorious toes, but Chrissy slid off the couch and literally sat on her feet so nobody could have a viewing of them. Damn, we're intrigued now.

When asked how she could pull off this contract clause in various shoots, such as swimsuit campaigns, the media personality explained:

"I used to have it in my Sports Illustrated contract: no feet," she said. "I would bury them in the sand."

Now, we have obviously had to google 'Chrissy Teigan feet', because we had to see this. Her feet were, dare we say it, GLOWING.

Teigan admitted that she has to wear open-toed shoes to red carpet events and other major media ceremonies, but we have no clue why she's insecure about her feet. They're prettier than our future.

Keep slayin' Chrissy, your down-to-earth vibe is keeping us alive.

Saoirse Ronan may be well in her way to becoming one of Hollywood's most in-demand stars, but you'll be glad to know that even she is no expert in the world of romance.

Appearing on The Ellen Show today, the Irish actress admitted that she wasn't “into the whole 'let's got out for dinner'” thing, before stumbling through the most drawn-out game of 'Who'd You Rather' we've ever seen.

Taking the time to really consider her options, Saoirse justified almost every decision by saying the gentleman in question would make a great “companion” – basically missing the whole premise of the game.

As the game went on (for an entire five minutes, btw), Ellen's frustration began to grow.

“So you really, really think these things through,” the host noted after Saoirse gave a lengthy explanation as to why she thinks Zac Efron would be good craic in a night out.

"I feel like I'm talking to a 70-year-old woman," she added.

However, it was all in good fun and Ellen even joked that Saoirse's final choice was waiting for her backstage.

One of the reasons Ellen De Generes is one of America's most popular chatshow hosts is because she takes a no-holds-barred approach to her presenting style.

Viewers have both laughed and cried with the host who seeks to share as much of her life as possible with the people who watch her show, and this week was no different.

Having seen her community of Montecito devastated by a mudslide, Ellen had told viewers she was struggling with the aftermath, before later revealing she had been dealt a second blow this week.

With great poise, Ellen told viewers that her father, Elliott DeGeneres, had passed away in recent days.

Paying tribute to the man she believes gave her her sense of humour, Ellen gave the studio audience and viewers at home an insight into the life she shared with him before recalling the only family vacation she took as a child.

We'll let Ellen take it from here.

Remember when you were 17-years-old and your idol invited you onto their show in order to surprise you with a cheque for $10,000?

Yeah, us neither, but that's because we're not Eimear O’Tuathail from Co. Galway.

The Irish teenager found herself on Ellen's famous set this week after a song she composed in her honour caught the star's attention.

Hugely likeable, Eimear instantly endeared herself to the audience by revealing her desire to see a real-life palm tree, get her hands on Starbuck's Pink Drink and stock up on lipbalm.

However, in true DeGeneres style, Ellen did one better and presented her adorable guest with an enormous cheque to cover her university fees.

So if you'll excuse us, we have some composing to do.

It's been 20 years since Ellen DeGeneres made the decision to come out as gay, and while she was lauded in some circles for her courage at the time, the fall-out from the announcement sent the much-loved TV presenter into a severe depression.

Speaking to Good Housekeeping, Ellen, who used her then sitcom as a platform for her announcement, revealed that the months that followed her admission were some of the toughest of her life.

"I moved out of L.A., went into a severe depression, started seeing a therapist and had to go on antidepressants for the first time in my life," the 59-year-old explained.

"The bullying I endured in Hollywood after I came out made up for the lack of it during my childhood," she added.

In the year that followed Ellen's announcement in April 1997, her show was cancelled which understandably wreaked havoc on both her personal and professional life.

"It was scary and lonely. All I’d known for 30 years was work, and all of a sudden I had nothing,” she admits.

And it wasn't just fear that Ellen experienced during this time, but a deep sense of injustice at the reaction her announcement garnered from the public.

"I was mad. It didn’t feel fair – I was the same person everyone had always known," she argued.

Thankfully, the Louisiana native made a valiant attempt to turn her life around, and explains that she sought solace in meditation, exercise and writing, saying: "Eventually I started meditating, working out and writing again, and I slowly started to climb out of it."

The woman described by Ellen in the interview is a far cry from the confident, upbeat and insanely popular presenter she is today.

Happily married and the face of one of the best-loved chat shows in the States, Ellen insists: "I can’t believe I came back from that point. I can’t believe where my life is now.”

Let's be honest here, we all see Ellen DeGeneres as a cool auntie.

She's warm, she's spirited and she's mischievous, but she'll call you the hell out if it comes to the crunch.

And that's exactly what one unfortunate member of Ellen's audience realised recently when she made the mistake of stealing from Ellen and her crew.

In a move which had us squirming in our seats, Ellen and her crew set up hidden cameras and then told the audience that they were welcome to take one piece of show swag each before they took to their seats in the studio.

Thankfully, the vast majority of audience members played by the rules, but there's always one who tests the limits. right?!

And when Ellen clapped eyes on her, she wasn't letting her off easy.

Warning: You may end up watching between your fingers.

Last week, 12-year-old, Allie Sherlock, went viral when a video of busking on Dublin's Grafton Street received over 1.2 million views on Facebook.

The Cork native stunned audiences across the world with her version of Ed Sheeran's Supermarket Flowers, and it seems her stellar performance even caught the eye of US talk-show host, Ellen DeGeneres.

According to reports, producers of The Ellen Show approached Allie with an offer to appear on the show.

However, the 12-year-old turned down the opportunity, saying that singing is just a hobby.

She told the Evening Echo, "I don't want it to be a professional career but I'd like to do it, just as a hobby. I'd like to do childcare because my auntie owns a creche,"

"I want to keep practising all the time and singing and so it's like a hobby really. Maybe I'll do weddings. I'd like to see what happens in the future before deciding anything."

Her father, Mark also went on to say that Allie is still young, and see music as a fun pastime.

"There's been a few people on to us about different things. She had the Ellen Show in America contact her but she's only 12 and she just enjoys a bit of busking.

"My main thing is that Allie continues to be Allie because she's a child. She enjoys her singing and as soon as it isn't fun anymore, that would be the end of it."

"Her plan is to do childcare, she would love that. Music is second. She might go to college and maybe head into town busking and earn herself a few quid."

Now, that's fair enough, but if The Ellen Show ever came knocking on our door, we'd be on the first flight to LA, no questions asked.
