Noooo! The oh-so devastating story behind this lost engagement ring

A newly-engaged woman has been left devastated – losing her engagement ring just hours after her boyfriend gave her a dream proposal in Dublin.

The bride-to-be travelled from Northern Ireland to the city for a weekend mini-break on Friday.

“He totally surprised me,” the woman told SHEmazing! this afternoon. “We were staying at the Shelbourne – then on Saturday morning he asked me to marry him.

“He whisked me straight off to Grafton Street and there we visited a few different jewellers – being offered glasses of champagne on arrival.

“It was just an amazing experience – a whirlwind.”

Sadly, however, her delight could only last a few hours.

“We had dinner in The Shelbourne and then decided to get a drink on Baggot Street.

“We were in O’Donoghues – and I know I had my ring leaving – and then decided to go on to the No.5 Vinoteca bar.

“Either I lost it there, or I lost it en route back to the Shelbourne.”

Only bought that morning, the ring had yet to be resized and was loose. Understandably, she is now devastated that she never even got the opportunity to bring her ring home to show it to friends and family.

Describing why she chose that particular piece, she said: “I just like that it was a bit unusual looking – there was a real vintage feel to it and the particular cut jumped out at me as soon as I saw it.”

She’s already informed gardaí of the loss and is now desperately appealing for anyone who might have found the ring to come forward.

“Vinoteca have been really good – they looked high and low for me but nothing. I’m hanging on to blind hope now and just trying to get the word out.”

You won’t believe how much Kim’s SECOND engagement ring is worth

For most people one engagement ring is enough to last a lifetime, but since Kim Kardashian West is not most people, her precious rock has just received a new best friend.

Earlier this week the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star stepped out in Miami wearing not one, but two engagement rings so, naturally, fans quickly began to wonder how much Kanye’s latest gift to Kim set him back.

According to TMZ, the 35-year-old’s original engagement ring was 14 carats, of Lorraine Schwartz design and cost $1.3 million.

But while Kim’s new sparkler is from the same jeweller, it’s a massive 20 carats, boasts a rare form of near flawless diamond and cost three times more than the original, bringing the grand total to over $5 million.

Now that’s a LOT of bling.

Pinterest’s fave engagement RING has reignited our search for BAE

Earlier this month Pinterest had us swooning over its most popular wedding dress, and now the much loved image sharing site has really given us wedding fever with its favourite engagement ring.

We all know it’s the thought that counts when it comes to receiving gifts, but when jewellery reaches engagement-level importance, it sure is nice to dream about the perfect rock.

And – according to HelloGiggles – there is one engagement ring in particular that’s made its way into many people’s dreams as the Alvadora Diamond Ring has been pinned over 160,000 times.

The 18 carat white gold ring features a bezel set gem, lattice detailing and a halo of diamonds and is available for purchase from American retailer Brilliant Earth for $1,490 (that’s currently around €1,330).

The vintage inspired piece also comes in four different styles: White gold, rose gold, yellow gold and platinum.

Previously it had been reported that the Verragio Venetian ring by Raymond Lee Jewellers was the most popular engagement style on Pinterest with 63,000 pins.

Like the Alvadora Diamond ring, the Verragio Venetian is an 18 carat white gold piece but it also boasts 0.45 carats of diamonds and costs around €3,800.

Woah! Look at the price of FKA Twigs’ engagement ring

This gives us yet ANOTHER reason to want to marry R-Patz.

FKA Twigs is rumoured to be engaged to Robert Pattinson and was showing off her engagement ring at the Met Gala this week.

Jeweller Mark Keeney told RadarOnline: "FKA Twigs' ring looks to be a custom style, possibly vintage. It features a pear-shaped diamond, which looks to be between one and two carats, set in a French-set halo."

"Two round bezel-set diamonds are set vertically on the finger, for an art-deco inspired look that flatters the length and suits her avant-garde sense of fashion," he said.

He then continued: "The setting is most likely platinum, the favoured metal for art deco jewellery. Depending on the quality of the stones, this engagement ring could be worth between $40k-$100k."

Wow, we bet Kristen Stewart is slightly bitter… it's okay Kristen, we would be too.

The pair could be set to get married soon as they apparently both want a low-key ceremony in London. He popped the question after six months of dating.

Jennifer Lopez’s former husband Marc Anthony is getting married again – this month!

According to reports, the 46-year-old singer proposed to girlfriend Shannon De Lima all the way back in March and managed to keep it a complete secret from everyone.

We wonder if this included Jennifer…

The happy couple are set to walk down the aisle this month in the Dominican Republic.

Marc and the Venezuelan model began dating back in 2012, breaking up for a time in January 2013 before reconciling again.

Marc is father to Jennifer’s six-year-old twins Max and Emme and also to 20-year-old daughter Ariana with his ex-girlfriend Debbie Rosado.

Congrats to the happy couple on their happy news!

You have to be careful not to pick trends over classics because trends are always changing whereas your engagement ring will be the same for many, many years to come.

We picked out a few cuts we think will never go out of fashion. Every woman is different and your engagement ring should reflect who you are – do you see your perfect ring below?

1. Radiant
Wowsa, this looks like it would weigh us down! Of course it doesn’t have to be quite so elaborate but the idea of a radiant cut is that it emits maximum sparkle potential and is designed to stand out and demand attention, perfect!

2. Baguette
Simple and subtle, this baguette cut engagement ring is classic and understated.

3. Trillion
The trillion diamond is most often seen as a side stone rather than the main solitaire. Unique and beautiful!

4. Marquise
Historically designed by King Louis XIV, this cut is striking and has a hint of vintage about it.

5. Colour
Diamonds aren’t for everybody – some girls love something a little different. Sapphires are very popular as engagement rings, especially following Kate Middleton inheritance of Princess Diana’s beautiful sapphire engagement ring. Rubies, emeralds and champagne coloured sapphires are also popular.

6. Vintage/vintage inspired
