You need to take part in the Foodie Movie Club
Good food, good movies and good company – nights out don't get better than this!
A few members of the SHEmazing team decided to spend their Monday night at the Foodie Movie Club after seeing some buzz about the monthly event online.
The Foodie Movie Club is run by one of our favourite bloggers, French Foodie in Dublin, and it’s really surprising that someone else hasn’t capitalised on this fab idea before. This great event combines a French movie that has some element of food in it with a beautiful French meal and of course, wine.
The night kicked off in a private cinema screen in the basement of Brooks Hotel on Drury St. The movie of the month was Amelie and every super-comfy seat in the cosy screen was filled with enthusiastic Francophiles.
Afterwards we moved on to French restaurant, La Maison on Castlemarket St, where we were seated communally and served the most delicious meal. In between bites of escargot and mouthfuls of a beautifully flavourful duck cassoulet (who knew a stew could be so sexy?) we got to know our fellow foodies and our charming host, Ketty.
Students, retirees, singles, couples, people from home and abroad – this great mix of people made for hilariously entertaining conversation, especially after a glass or two of French Red.
Tickets are €35 (plus booking charge) and while wine isn’t included in the price, you can purchase it as an extra with your dinner when you’re at the restaurant. Which you no doubt will.
Would we go again? Mais oui! Can’t wait!
