Looking for ways to improve your health without having to sign your life away to a gym or endure awful, apparently healthy, meals? Well, Tesco’s newest service should be right up your street.

To help customers improve their health and wellbeing, Tesco have launched their healthy living service, Tesco Health & Wellbeing.

The 100% free to join service is in stark contrast to their original paid subscription Tesco Diets – the #1 rated online weight loss service – which they have stopped taking subscriptions for.

While the brave move to stop the paid service will obviously have an impact on revenue, it is in keeping with their campaign to help more customers improve their health and wellbeing.

Through an interactive digital platform, Tesco Health & Wellbeing aims to help customers be healthy, improve their overall wellbeing and enjoy life more. The website, iOS and Android apps include all the must-have tools of Tesco Diets plus much more in the area of wellbeing, fitness, nutrition analysis, healthy recipes, personalisation and expert advice.

Some of the many highlights of the service include the ability to plan or track in the food diary, get healthy meal ideas (this will definitely come in handy), order groceries online and discover new exercises.

The service is easy enough to use –  all you need to do is visit www.tescohealthandwellbeing.com or download the app from Apple or Google play store, sign up and fill in your personal settings.

Having a healthy lifestyle couldn’t be easier.

In 1952, Marilyn Monroe gave Pageant magazine an exclusive interview and it seems the iconic actress was well ahead of her time in terms of diet and exercising.

Just like the rest of us, the blonde beauty worried “about eating too much” and not working out enough. Talking to the magazine, Marilyn confessed to spending “10 minutes each morning working out with small weights” and admitted to a high protein diet that she served with vegetables.

And it wasn’t just diet and exercise that Marilyn was on top of – she was sun smart too! Despite tanned skin being all the trend in California at the time, Marilyn wasn’t a sun worshipper, saying : “Despite its great vogue in California, I don’t think sun-tanned skin is any more attractive than white skin, or any healthier, for that matter. I’m personally opposed to a deep tan because I like to feel blond all over.”

However , she did have a few strange heath regimes like her warm milk and egg drink being one of them.

In the interview, the actress said: “Before I take my morning shower, I start warming a cup of milk on the hot plate I keep in my hotel room. When it’s hot, I break two raw eggs into the milk, whip them up with a fork, and drink them while I’m dressing. I supplement this with a multi-vitamin pill, and I doubt if any doctor could recommend a more nourishing breakfast for a working girl in a hurry.”

Over sixty years later, Marilyn is still as iconic as ever, so she was definitely doing something right.

It is favoured by the likes of Gwyneth Paltrow, although this doesn’t surprise us to be honest, and is even used by athletes and soldiers to build muscles and recover from an injury.

But what exactly is aerial yoga or anti-gravity yoga as it is also known as?

Well, it involves swinging from a sling hammock which is hanging from the ceiling. Once in the sling, you will do a series of exercises that involve you hanging upside down by your ankles or  swinging in the hammock with your head facing the floor to name a few – basically yoga positions in a sling.

While it does seem like a strange way to exercise, the workout is apparently great for your core strength and stretching the body.

Apparently hanging upside down is great for your complexion as it helps blood flow – we might just have to follow in Gwenie’s footsteps and give this a go.

The 29-year-old was centre of attention just days ago when she showcased her purple safety pin hairstyle.

Wearing a tiny pair of pink knickers, the celebrity captioned the snap, “It’s not a #FullMoon but it feels like one.”

Kelly said she piled on the pounds after she split from her fiancé Matthew Mosshart six months ago, but is said to be doing Pilates and yoga classes and hired a personal trainer five days a week to help her keep in shape.

Good for you Kelly!

Being healthy shouldn’t be a chore. It should just be a part of your lifestyle or a habit that you don’t want to break.

Here are 4 ways to ensure a healthy happy life:

Make exercise part of your life

Don’t plan your exercise regime around your day make it a part of your day. If you go o the gym after work or college put this in your diary. If night times aren’t suitable, simply start your day earlier and workout in the morning.

Be organised

Make sure you are organised. This way when it comes to gym time or run time you won’t have the excuse of “my workout gear is dirty”.

Meal plans

Meal plans are so important for helping you maintain a healthy diet. Buy everything you need at the start of the week. Do batch cooking at the weekend and freeze your food. This way you will always have healthy dinners, even if you are too tired to cook.

Have some fun

Don’t take all the fun out of life. Enjoy a coffee or a tub of ice cream every now and then – maintaining a healthy body should not just be about sacrificing all the good things!

Ask any celeb how they keep their figure so trim and no doubt nine out of ten will list yoga as the reason for their success. You’ve probably tried it yourself, and most people either love it, or they think it’s a snore fest.

If you weren’t won over by the average yoga class, then perhaps you should give Bikram yoga a go. There is definitely nothing boring about stretching every limb in 105 degree heat, we can assure you! It’s also really, really good for you. Check out the list of benefits below:

Sweat those toxins out
There’s nothing like a lot of sweating to flush the toxins from your skin. Make sure you’re not wearing make up to the session though. It won’t last very long if you do and it will only clog your pores.

Get some exercise and a hair treatment all in one go
If your hair is on the dry side, it’s a good idea to put some hair oil in your hair before the session. The heat in the studio will then activate the oils which help to moisturise your hair.

Stress reduction
Exercise in general is a great stress buster, but the relaxed nature of Bikram yoga makes it doubly good for getting over the humps and bumps of the day.

Fix old injuries
If you find your knees cracking when you bend down or walk up the stairs, a few sessions of Bikram yoga will have you back to your old, non-crackly self in no time.

Strength building
While many people assume yoga is all about stretching and flexibility, it actually can help to build strength as well enabling you to hold the postures for thirty seconds each. It doesn’t sound like a lot but if you do it often enough, you’ll notice the difference.

Calorie burning
Bikram yoga helps to burn more calories because of the heat. It is said that a 90 minute class can burn up to 1,000 calories (depending on how much effort you put into it!).

Just don’t forget to bring a BIG bottle of water!

Caggie must be taking some exercise tips from her best friend, Millie Mackintosh, who is an advocate of a healthy lifestyle.

We all know that squats will give us that lovely shapely bum we all want – but are we doing them properly?

Squats will only work if we do them properly and safely.

Here are four common mistakes that occur when squatting:

1. Leaning forward/backwards
Use your core to ensure you stay balanced and are not leaning too far forward or too backwards.

2. Too quick
If you are dropping into your squat too fast, this may be an issue. Take your time and make your movements mindful and steady.

3. Go lower
Don’t be afraid to drop it down low.

4. Knees going inwards
Keep your feet rooted and if your knees have a tendency to fall inwards as your lower, try using a slightly wider stance.

Stress, anxiety and worry can be tiresome and exhausting.

Try these tips to reduce your stress levels and overcome any anxiety you may have.

1. Get enough sleep
Sleep is vital in reducing stress as a lack of sleep can actually be a trigger for stress.

2. Drink enough water
Keeping hydrated will help you to be alert and concentrate better. Your lack of focus may be a cause of the stress you are feeling.

3. Meditate
You don’t have to become a meditation expert overnight or anything but simply taking ten minutes before bedtime to close your eyes and focus on your breathing can have big benefits on reducing your stress levels.

4. Talk
Talking to somebody about the reasons you may feel stressed can in fact help you feel less stressed.

5. Exercise
Working out is proven to reduce anxiety levels so get that gym gear on and get moving!

Yes, there is a lot of squatting.

These moves will tone that bum in no time and give you the confidence to hit the beach in style.

If you haven’t got any dumbbells, don’t worry! Grab two cans from the kitchen cupboard instead. No excuses!

1. Dumbbell Squats
Holding a dumbbell in each hand, sit to a squat and raise again. Repeat 15-20 mins.

2. Wall Sit
Squat against a wall and hold for as long as you can. This will tone your thighs as well as your bum!

3. Lunge and Side Kick
Holding a dumbbell in each hand sit into a squat and on the way up kick on leg to the side. Repeat 10 times on each side. Screaming “HIYAA” as you kick is optional.

4. Donkey Kick
Facing forward on a mat balance on your hands and knees. Slowly bring one leg up behind you and point the sole of your foot toward the ceiling as much as you can. Repeat 10 times on each side.

5. Around the World Lunge
Going in a circle, “around the world”, lunge to the front, then to the side, the back and finally the front again. Repeat set about 5-10 times.
