If you want to give your lips an instant plump, you don’t need to put in as much effort as you think. With these five simple steps you can have lips that are as perfect as Angelina Jolie’s……. well almost.

Exfoliate
This is a crucial step before any lip application. Use a damp toothbrush or use a clean and small mascara wand to get rid of any dead skin cells on your lips.

Liner
A good lip liner will give your lips definition that will get you noticed almost almost immediately.

Brush
Apply your lip color with a lip brush to make sure it penetrates deep into your lips.

Gloss
Put a shiny gloss right in the middle of your lips. This will make the middle part more noticeable and your lips a full rounded appearance.

Conceal
To have a perfect pout, the edges of your lips must be clean. Use concealer to tidy up and watch your lips pout almost naturally.

The winter can play havoc with your lips, causing them to become hard and cracked – not good if you have a hot date coming up, especially in Valentine’s season.

Stick with us and you will be irresistibly kissable in no time at all.

Moisturise, moisturise, moisturise

By writing it three times, we’re hoping you’ll understand the importance of it. The skin on your smackers is prone to drying so it is vital that you keep them well moisturised. Keep a lip balm handy and apply regularly.

Exfoliate

Use a soft toothbrush and gentle circular movements to gently remove any dead or flaky skin. You can give your lips a lift while recycling your old brush.

Keep hydrated

Drink plenty of water to prevent your skin becoming dehydrated. Coffee or tea doesn’t count towards you daily fluid intake.

To keep your pout perfect, avoid licking, picking, peeling and biting the skin.

Most ladies are aware of the fact that they need to regularly exfoliate their skin, but many don’t know why they should.

Dead cells can make the face look tired, so regular exfoliation can actually transform your skin’s dull, sad appearance.

It is important that you remove these dead cells to encourage those cells below to replenish, making the surface of the skin look fresh.

They can also clog up pores resulting in blackheads and spots, which nobody wants.

While you may believe that your cleansing and toning regime is second to none, if you have a layer of dead skin on your face you won’t be able to truly cleanse.

You only need to add it to your skincare regime one or twice a week, depending on your skin type. If your skin is sensitive, you should only do it once a week, as it may irritate it or make it dry. Make sure you include your neck and chest area.

If you’re about to tell us that your budget won’t allow for more products, we’re telling you that there are DIY options. Adding sugar to your cleansing cream is the perfect way to give your skin a good exfoliation.

You don’t have an excuse now, so start scrubbing.

There’s nothing worse than seeing someone desperately fail at pulling off  Marilyn Monroe’s famous ‘red lip’. In fact, dry and cracked lips look terribly under any lip color, not just red.

Here are a few guidelines to follow for the perfect lipstick – read them, treasure them and pass them on to your mates.

  • Always exfoliate your lips before applying makeup. It will get rid of any dead skin lying on the surface.
  • Before lipstick comes lip balm. It will keep your lips soft and moistened under your lipstick.
  • Remember to fill your lips with lip liner before you apply your lipstick. This will make the color last longer.
  • Line your lips to give them some definition.
  • Apply your lipstick with a lip brush to let the color really get into your lips.
  • For a non-surgical lip augmentation, apply a bit of highlighter to your cupids bow. This will give you a sexy pout.
  • Avoid getting lipstick on your teeth by poking a (clean) finger into your mouth.
  • Use cotton bud to clean up around the edges of your lips.
  • Finish up with translucent powder so that the lip color lasts longer.

And most important, remember to smile.
