Lindsay Lohan explains the accent that pushed Twitter over the edge

While things are rarely straight forward in the world of Lindsay Lohan, the star’s recent change of accent is something no one could have predicted.

The Freaky Friday actress has become the focus of intense speculation after a video of her speaking outside a Greek nightclub revealed she's adopted a brand new accent.

Yesterday, the 30-year-old told the Mail Online that her newfound change of tone is “a mixture of most of the languages [she] can understand or [is] trying to learn”.

“I've been learning different languages since I was a child,” she said. “I'm fluent in English and French, can understand Russian and am learning Turkish, Italian and Arabic.”

Bizarrely, the Internet appears to have dismissed Lindsay’s explanation in favour of its own theories and confusion.

People are continuing to tweet about the star’s new voice – which she has dubbed the “LILOHAN” accent – with many suggesting they can’t stop listening to it.
