Trying to pull the wool over the eyes of any Irish mammy is no mean feat, so hats off to Ciara Redmond who did the almost impossible this week.

After four days of air travel and God knows how long keeping her secret to herself, Ciara, originally from Co Cork but living in Melbourne, made her way to Co Wexford where her mum was staying for the summer, and got a reaction which had us more than a little choked up at SHEmazing! HQ this morning.

Sharing the footage of her reunion with her mam on Facebook, Ciara wrote: "Well after 4 days of travelling from Oz, 19 hour layover in Delhi and caught on a 17 hour cancelled flight in Frankfurt- it was well worth the surprise!"

"Home for good. Ireland I missed you but even more I missed my family," she wrote in the post which has been viewed more than 1,000 times since its upload.

"Thanks to everyone who helped surprise my mammy! God she reacted well!" Ciara added.

Ah lads, we are all OVER this.

From Brooklyn’s romantic posts with Chloe Moretz to Victoria’s candid photos with Eva Longoria, the Beckhams have been owning social media lately.

So naturally enough now that today marks the youngest Beckham’s 5th birthday, her parents have taken to Instagram to wish her a special day.

David – who was recently spotted hanging out with Amy Huberman at Wimbledon – shared a black and white picture of Harper kissing her dad on the cheek on Instagram this morning.

The image was captioned: “Happy birthday to my Pretty Lady…In 5 years baby Harper has brought so much love into our family.”

“Such a special girl in so many different ways we are so lucky to spend each day with such a beautiful soul.”

“We adore you baby girl happy birthday love Daddy.”  Awh!

Shortly after the soccer star’s post went up, designer Victoria used the same social media platform to wish her only daughter a happy birthday.

She captioned a waterside picture of her and Harper: “Happy Birthday baby girl.  We all love you so much.”

“Kisses from mummy X.”  Cute.

Earlier this week the famous couple celebrated their 17th wedding anniversary with a throwback picture online and on Tuesday their eldest son Brooklyn was spotted driving around London alone after passing his driving test.

It seems like the Beckham kids are getting very grown up altogether.

Some people simply aren't the DMC type, so when you have a DMC-related subject to share with people you love, you really have to get creative.

Deciding it was more in keeping with her personality to come out to her family while riding Disneyland's Splash Mountain, one Californian teen went for it in recent weeks.

Explaining her decision to BuzzFeed, 16-year-old Gina explained: "I am not the type of person to have a deep, sit-down conversation, so I wanted to tell them in a lighthearted and fun way."

After hiding a sign which announced the news to her family, she hopped on in, readied her announcement and posed for the camera in a move which has delighted the internet since it started doing the rounds this week.

"I love funny ride photos so I figured I could make the sign just in case I decided to go for it, and I did," she explained, and her 'super accepting' family were all OVER it.

After sharing the snap on Twitter, Gina revealed she has been inundated with supportive comments, saying: "People have responded saying I’ve inspired them to do the same thing, which I think is the coolest part of it all."

"This Twitter account was just my spam account where I posted random fangirl stuff but I decided it couldn’t hurt to post it and the result was absolutely amazing,"

Props Gina, props.

We're going to come right out and say it – we adore the Obama family.

From the President's drop the mic public addresses to the First Lady's decision to ride shotgun with James Corden, the Obama family are the family you WISH you had if only everyone could just play it cool for five damn seconds.

And yet while President Obama broke the mould in so many, many ways, he remains steadfast in his traditional approach to one particular job – fatherhood.

Reminding the public that you can be schlick as a world leader but a total goon when it comes to your children, good ol' Barack decided to serenade his oldest daughter during yesterday's 4th of July celebrations in the White House, and we cannot get enough.

From his God-awful singing voice to the appreciative-but-please-stop side hug Malia goes for, this is just too adorable.

Ladies, fast forward to 4.00 for that oh-so-golden moment…

We have mild palpitations every time we splash out on a Lotto ticket and while we've never won ANYTHING so far, we know, deep down, that the next time could be different.

For one couple from Dublin, however, scooping big on the National Lottery has simply become part and parcel of married life. (Yeah, we know.)

Last Saturday marked the pair's ninth big win when they netted a whopping €113,661 after matching five numbers and the bonus ball in the weekend's draw

While they have matched five numbers each time they won, the prize money has gotten substantially bigger over the years, with the husband saying: "When you consider that the first time we matched five numbers we won a hundred pounds."

The couple, who have chosen to remain anonymous, said: "Since the start of the lotto, we have matched five numbers nine times and we’re not giving up on the jackpot just yet. We are getting closer and closer to the jackpot."

The generous pair are more than happy to spread the wealth, and told the press that they plan to donate money to local charities as well as an African children's charity.

We wonder if they'd be open to a syndicate…

We've never thought of beards as anything other than a very welcome addition to a man's face, but it looks like they can do much more than add a level of charm to a bloke's appearance.

They can, in fact, help raise awareness of a matter close to the heart of millions of Irish people – mental health and suicide prevention.

While these issues have affected Irish families for generations, it’s only in recent years that we’ve actively tried to remove the stigma attached to these matter.

And with high-profile figures sharing their own experience of mental illness and members of the public campaigning for increased support, it’s heartening to know that none of us are fighting the battle alone.

Having been dealt a devastating blow after losing his father to suicide last year, Gary O’Dowd from Co. Kerry decided to turn a negative into a positive by embarking on a personal journey which will ultimately help families in a similar position to his own.

As part of The Bearded Man’s Battle for Suicide Prevention, Gary has been growing a beard for a year in order to raise money for two charities – Console and Kerry LifeLine – who were a huge support to the O’Dowd family in the aftermath of their father’s passing.

On July 16th, Gary will take part in a Shave or Grow event in Jack Duggan’s Bar, Castlemaine, Co. Kerry where the public will decide whether Gary will ditch the beard or keep it for another year.

If the beard growing is a go’er, Gary will shave his head alongside other brave members of the public who want to get involved in this incredible cause.

So far, the Bearded Man campaign has raised over €700, but they need your help showing people that it’s OK not to be OK.

You can get involved by texting SWCC to 50300 to donate €4 or find out more here.

Good on you, Gary!

By this stage, we've all heard of the adorable gran who totally charmed the internet this week.

Proving good manners never costs anything, one young man's Nan made sure to say please and thank you to Mr. Google when doing a little research online.

And when Twitter user, Ben John, happened upon his 85-year-old grandmother's adorable internet search, he did what any upstanding millennial would do – he shared it online.

"Omg opened my Nan's laptop and when she's googled something she's put 'please' and 'thank you'. I can't" he tweeted alongside a photo of his Nan's attempt to chat with the search engine.

The post tugged on the heartstrings of internet users who shared it far and wide before it ultimately got the attention of Google itself.

Responding to the tweet from their UK headquarters, Google wrote: "Dearest Ben's Nan. Hope you're well. In a world of billions of Searches, yours made us smile. Oh, and it's 1998. Thank YOU."

Lads, our hearts.

After almost a year apart, reality stars Kourtney Kardashian and Scott Disick have sparked rumours of reunion after they were spotted on a family trip together in Las Vegas.

After flying from LAX to Sin City via private jet, the former couple brought their three children – Mason, Penelope and Reign – to see Cirque du Soleil’s The Beatles LOVE show at the Mirage hotel.

Afterwards the pair brought six-year-old Mason to dinner with them, where they were described as being "all smiles and very happy" by a Us Weekly source.

The eyewitness said:  “They were relaxed and very loving…They were out to have fun as a family and made sure Mason did too."

After the meal, Kourtney attended Scott's appearance at 1 Oak nightclub – where he regularly acts as host – with Kourtney's sister Khloe and family friend Malika Haqq.

But before you get too excited over the apparent rekindling of romance, a source revealed to Hollywood Life that the pair are not together and that Scott is actually seeing a number of different women.

Another great night last night with #ScottDisick and friends! Join us tonight for @djgusto Saturday's! #EndedUpAt1OAK

A photo posted by 1 OAK Las Vegas (@1oaklv) on

The source said: “Scott and Kourtney aren’t together…Scott still has a stable of girls he’s seeing. They are committed to being good co-parents together and that’s it."

"He drives her nuts sometimes and its not always easy but they do it for the sake of the kids. That includes going on amazing vacations together as a ‘family'."

"Mason likes Las Vegas, too. They all have a fun time. But that’s as far as it goes.”  Awh!

Happy birthday baby daddy!

And since Scott apparently believes in a Kardashian curse, we think he and Kourtney have a bit to go before they could possibly reunite.

Following a trip to Dublin Zoo last week, Claire Gray from Newtownards in Co. Down lost a very important member of the family, and she has been appealing to the public for their help ever since.

Explaining that Matilda Doll was given to her baby daughter who died three months after her birth in 2013, Claire has understandably taken comfort in the doll and immediately took to social media after realising she had become separated from her in the Phoenix Park.

"My little baby daughter Matilda grew her angel wings in 2013 aged 3 months due to Edwards Syndrome," Claire wrote. "She was given a gorgeous little dolly with her name on it when she was born. We call her "Matilda Doll".

"I've cuddled Matilda doll to sleep every night since Matilda passed away," Claire explained in the post which has been shared thousands of times since its upload. "Matilda Doll" even came to hospital with me when Matilda's baby brother Archie was born."

Claire explained that on Monday May 30th she lost the doll, writing: "Somewhere between the zoo shop, gate and Lord Walk's carpark "Matilda doll" went missing."

"Thank you to everyone who has been looking for her, " Claire wrote. "We now think someone maybe took her home or else she's lying in different part of Phoenix park. For us she is a piece of our little Matilda. I feel so stupid for losing "Matilda Doll" and very distressed."

After a week of searching, Matilda Doll still hasn't been returned home, but we're crossing our fingers for the Gray family and urging everyone to get sharing.

It's never too young to become a Belieber, and it looks like Layla Potter is as hardcore as they come.

Proving that good 'ol JB has an absolutely magical effect on his female fan base, this six-month-old tot went from no-chill to uber-chill every time she heard one particular Bieber classic.

While the rest of us may have to claw our eyes out if we hear Love Yourself one more time, for Layla Potter this jam will just NEVER get old.

Talk about crying on your own, Layla.

Remember all those times you would fall asleep on the couch as a kid, your dad would carry you up the stairs, bump your head along the banisters on the way, and both of you would pretend not to notice?

That, ladies, is total love, and exactly why you need to show you dad how appreciated he is this Father’s Day.

Why not tell your dad you think he’s worth more than a box of pastel-coloured hankies by choosing a gift which represents those all-important moments you guys have shared down through the years?

Here’s the run-down!

1. Drinks with Dad

OK, we all know that the first drink you shared with your pops was by no means your first proper grown-up drink, but he doesn't need to know that.

Chances are he slipped you a sneaky tipple at a family wedding when you were 16 and told you ‘not to tell your mother’, so why not celebrate that adorable moment by splashing out on a whiskey gift set or Guinness gift box for the ol’ rogue!

GARAVANS OF GALWAY IRISH WHISKEY GIFT SET €19.99

CRYSTAL AND GUINNESS GIFT BOX €77.99

2. That controversial curfew

Were your teenage years spent roaring about how embarrassing your curfew was compared to your mates'? Yeah, us too.

We plan to remind our dads of the importance they place on good time-keeping by springing for a stunning clock which they can watch with those hawk-eyes of theirs. (It WAS their favourite hobby back in the day, after all.)

TIPPERARY CRYSTAL HEXAGONAL CLOCK GIFT €40.00

3. Dining with Dad

We don’t know a single person who doesn’t have a classic ‘When Mum went away, Dad fed us this weird mixture of…” story, and that’s where the next top pick comes from!

Why not treat your pops to a selection of mouthwatering food and drink which he couldn’t seem to get his hands on when he was in charge all those times?

He’ll know EXACTLY what you’re getting at, believe us.

THE IRISH CHEESE & WINE HAMPER €51.83

THE GRAZING GIFT CRATE €59.00

4. Bathroom battles

It didn’t matter what time of the day or night you might have decided to pamper yourself in the bathroom as a teen, you could be guaranteed your father would be found banging on the door within the first five minutes.

Be the bigger person and show him you’ve gotten over these traumas by splashing out on a pampering kit which he can use uninterrupted and to his heart’s content without a single peep out of you.

THE HANDMADE SOAP COMPANY SHAVING KIT – MENS GIFT SET €47.97

5. Driving with Dad

Dads and cars go hand-in-hand, right? From roaring that he’s ‘not a bloody taxi service’ to yelling at you for not knowing how to parallel park, some of our most ridiculous memories involve being in the car with our dad.

Show him you’ve always thought that he looked super-fly in the driving seat by treating him to a piece of art which he’ll pretend not to understand, but you know will soon become his prized possession.

GUILLERMO FORCHINO "LES GANGSTERS" COLLECTABLE GIFT: €110.70

All of these incredible gifts and much, much more can be found at Hampers &Co.

If you grew up in a household that boasted an Irish mammy, you'll know that the reason you 'caught your death' is because you didn't wear a coat in July, the reason you've spots is because 'you won't leave well enough alone' and the reason you got over that last ailment is because she wheeled out the Sudocrem for you.

Yep, long before it became a staple in every girl's make-up bag, our Irish mammies were peddling it like good things, and there wasn't a day that passed that someone in the family didn't bang of the thick white ointment.

In homage to Irish mammies everywhere, the always hilarious Fupin Eejits have uploaded a video which reminds us all of the countless benefits of daubing some good ol' Sudocrem across yourself in times of trauma.

Uploaded to Facebook on Saturday, the video has clocked up a serious 68,000 views and us Irish have wasted no time tagging our siblings and having a right oul laugh at our mammy's expense.

This, girls, is absolute gold.
