We Irish are famous for many things, but let's face it, our sense of style isn't one of them.

After all, we're the land of saints and scholars, not sequins and shift dresses.

However, it might be high time we give ourselves a little more credit, because this classic Irish garment has just been chosen as one of the world's most iconic fashion designs.

The Aran Jumper is set to star alongside other time-honoured fashion pieces such as the little black dress, the biker jacket and Levi jeans at a major new art exhibition in the New York Museum of Modern Art (MoMA).

According to MoMA, each of the 111 items featured in the exhibition were selected because of their “profound impact on the world over the last century”.

Sure, Aran Jumpers come in all shapes and colours, but the garment in question is a cream, knitted creation from 1940, on loan from Ireland's Nationla Folklife Collection, housed at Turlough Park, Co. Mayo.

Long been a symbol of Irish rural life, Aran jumpers began to grow in popularity when manufactures began to export them around the world in the 1950s.

Speaking about the incredible feat for Irish design, Tony Candon from the National Museum of Ireland commented: “We are pleased to be able to contribute to this exciting new exhibition in the Museum of Modern Art in New York.”

"Aran sweaters are a powerful expression of the creativity of the Irish folk craft tradition and we are very happy that this is being recognised through inclusion in this important exhibition.”

Time to go digging through the attic – we have a feeling these babies will be back in fashion very soon.

Gigi Hadid and Zayn Malik have sealed their reputation as the 'it couple' of a generation as they appear on the front cover of US Vogue.

In the August edition of the fashion magazine, the pair talk openly about gender fluidity in fashion as they both rock eccentric androgynous looks.

Speaking with Vogue's Maya Singer, the loved-up couple revealed how they often experiment with style by raiding each other's wardrobes.

Zayn asked: “What was that t-shirt I borrowed the other day? I like that shirt. And if it’s tight on me, so what? It doesn’t matter if it was made for a girl.”

“It can seem like everyone’s doing the same thing. Gender, whatever — you want to make your own statement. You know? You want to feel distinct.”

Gigi then added: “It’s not about gender. It’s about, like, shapes. And what feels good on you that day. And anyway, it’s fun to experiment…”

“If Zayn’s wearing a tight shirt and tight jeans and a big, drapey coat, I mean – I’d wear that, too. It’s just about, do the clothes feel right on you?”

In an accompanying video interview, the US supermodel revealed the most romantic thing the former One Direction star had ever done, saying “a couple years ago on Valentine's day we went on a boat trip and it was really nice.”

She also gushed over the star's culinary skills saying that her favourite dish was Zayn's chicken and sweetcorn pie, adding, “it's like a hug.”

The August issue of US Vogue is out on July 25, but for now you can check out Gigi's round of 73 quick-fire questions below.

Roz Purcell stepped out at the Qatar Airways Gala this week wearing the most amazing two piece, and the question on everyones lips was 'where did she get it?'

Thankfully, the model-turned-influencer shared the details of her stunning outfit with her 194,000 followers on Instagram.

New Irish fashion label VAENO is the premium collection responsible for Roz's chic, minimalist look.

A post shared by Rozanna Purcell (@rozannapurcell) on

VAENO is a new Irish fashion concept which aims to empower the women through effortless tailoring.

A refreshing change from fast fashion, the brand promotes the curation of wardrobe stocked with interchangeable separates.

This has led VAENO to create an edited capsule of classic, timeless essentials that work for all occassions.

The concept, whose motto is 'with the right components, a woman can achieve anything,' is the creative endeavour of Nadya Gaughran and Louise Merrick.

The pair of entrepreneurs have a combined extensive experience in fashion and retail, and the collection reflects their understanding of female form and shape.

The emphasis is on fit, cut and quality, to create timeless, elegant and achingly stylish ensembles.

The collection includes silk bodysuits, simple shift dresses, and well cut, structured two-pieces, much like Roz's.

We're dying to see more from this designer duo!

Meet Coco.

A six-year-old Instagrammer with over 100,000 followers and a wardrobe full of drool-worthy clothes.

The mini-fashionista rocks her funky and unique style so well, she even gets invited to brand parties and fashion shows.

Coco's love of fashion was ignited by her parents who own a vintage clothing boutique in Harajuku, selling one-of-a-kind items from around the world.

While her parents still offer their style tips, they say Coco has been picking her own outfits since she was just two-years-old.

Her mother, Misato Hamamatsu, says her style is a mix of high fashion and art.

"She gets noticed by young Japanese kids and foreigners who have seen her Instagram," Misato tells Daily Mail Australia.

"She enjoys being noticed, and all the attention gives her lots of energy and motivation."

Misato also said that style-seekers of all ages could draw inspiration from Coco's Instagram.

“Her style is very trendy and shows the newest styles in fashion that adults to kids want to copy and imitate.”

We may have just found our summer style inspo.

We'll admit it; we like staying in our comfort zone.

Nothing too sparkly, nothing too backless, nothing to bright. To be honest, most nights out consist of 'jeans and a fancy top'.

So, in an effort to change that, we scoured the Dresses.ie website to see what they have in store, and to hopefully up our 'fancy top' ensembles.

Oriental

One of the biggest trends for high summer is Oriental. Think soft, satin material, tight bodycons, high necks and pretty prints.

For a summer night out, a wedding or anything in between, we'll definitely be ditching our fancy tops for this.

The Slip

Now, this isn't anything new, but many of us have shied away from slip dresses because 1) we live in Ireland (i.e. rainland) and 2) we're afraid it'll show all of our lumps and bumps.

But, don't be afraid because this one won't cling and hangs softly on your body. Pure 90s vibes as well, which is always a plus.

The One Shoulder

If you just have to go for a 'fancy top' then you need to try this one. Don't be afraid to wear a one shoulder top either, because it's coming back into fashion in a big way.

The perfect statement for a hot day at the beach, or drinks with the girls.

ONE SHOULDER TOP
€29.99

Bardot

Bardot tops and dresses are another style that have been around for a while now, but this summer, you'll notice everything going a bit… lower, and sexier.

If you want to try out the trend, this is the perfect dress to start, as it hold everything in. And the mesh detail is pretty fabulous too.

Last month, Clémentine MacNeice's chic and sophisticated fashion sense earned her the title of Style Icon of the Year at the inaugural SHEmazing HP Awards.

She is one of the most established stylists in the country today, but how did she make it to the top of her game?

A post shared by Clémentine MacNeice (@clementinemacneice) on

Having originally set out to complete a degree at Trinity College, Clémentine's journey into the industry was somewhat unconventional.

English and Drama was her subject of choice, however, it was the costume design module that really ignited her imagination, and inspired her to pursue a career as a stylist.

A post shared by Clémentine MacNeice (@clementinemacneice) on

Upon making the decision to jump head first into the world of fashion, Clémentine took various style-related roles in an effort to establish herself in the industry she loved so much.

Starting at the bottom, she offered her style skills for free, before eventually making a name for herself as a freelance stylist.

Today, she is one of Ireland's most sought-after stylists and boasts an impressive list of clients, including TV3's Anna Daly, Karen Koster and Lucy Kennedy, as well as Dancing With the Stars presenter, Amanda Byram.

The stylist achieves her timeless look by combining contemporary and vintage pieces, but what is her number one style tip?

"Invest in key pieces. Don't waste your money on trends and be daring!"

And as for the guys, Clém reckons our very own Conor McGregor has hit the nail on the head when it comes to out-there fashion choices.

So, with a keen eye for style and a wardrobe most women would kill for, it's no wonder Clémentine MacNeice was crowned our Style Icon of the Year.

We all know Lidl have been knocking it out of the park recently, but their latest announcement may actually top all their recent offerings.

According to numerous reports this morning, the German retailer will be joining forces with Heidi Klum, one of the country's best-known models.

The discount supermarket have made the decision to develop a new clothing range, and they want the supermodel-turned-television presenter at the helm.

It is understood that the clothing range, which has been developed to attract 'more affluent' shoppers, will be hitting shelves (or baskets) in both Europe and the US later this year.

Commenting on the collaboration, 44-year-old Heidi explained that she sought to create a line which is 'accessible to everyone'.

With Lidl explaining that the range 'mirrors Heidi's characteristic style,' the mum-of-four agreed, saying: "I had so much fun designing the pieces in this collection."

"I’m proud to partner with them on this fashion collaboration." she added. "I can't wait for you to see it. I hope you love it as much as I do."

"At Lidl, we believe high-quality fashion should be attainable for everyone and we look forward to sharing this collection with our customers later this year," Lidl US chief commercial officer Boudewijn Tiktak said.

Form an orderly queue, ladies.
