The stars were out in force for the Met Gala last night, whose theme Rei Kawakubo/Comme des Garçons honoured the iconic designer in the best way.

'Rei Kawakubo is one of the most important and influential designers of the past forty years,' the Costume Institute’s curator Andrew Bolton told Vogue.

'By inviting us to rethink fashion as a site of constant creation, recreation, and hybridity, she has defined the aesthetics of our time.'

Unlike most years, many celebrities did not focus their looks on the theme, so there was a major mix of ensembles on the night.

It seems that the fashion world's obsession with all things 90s is never ending.

The latest item to be resurrected from the sartorial graveyard might surprise you, and for any 90s kids,  it will definitely remind you of your secondary school days.

Platform school shoes were a staple for 90s teens, if you could get away with them, and they matched our chunky highlights and Backstreet Boys hoodie.

While we definitely envied our peers who were allowed don those platform, clunky heeled school shoes, there is no way our mams were letting us head off to school in any shoes higher than a sensible half inch.

This is why when we saw these platforms on Gucci's website, our inner teenager begged for them immediately.

The shoes themselves are a platform adaption of the classic Gucci loafer, but they are distinctly reminiscent of the clunky school platforms we needed in our lives in 1998, but with a majorly modern update.

A post shared by Zig Metzler (@ziggy_shoots) on

Unfortunately they are slightly out of our price range at €1,100.00. Just slightly…

Vintage shops are a hot bed of the original versions of the school shoes, so we know where we will be looking if they officially make a comeback.

Now, all we need is some roll-on body glitter and our old Spice Girls C.D…

Summer is right around the corner, and although the weather may not be on board with this fact quite yet, there are some seriously cool summer sunglasses catching our eye on Instagram.

Colourful sunnies are ruling the roost when it comes to dominating the trend charts this season.

Rainbow-hued, reflective lenses have a huge celebrity following, with the likes of Bella Hadid, Selena Gomez and the Kardashians trying the trend.

A post shared by Selena Gomez (@selenagomez) on

The trend is giving us major noughties nostalgia, and remind us of better days when R&B dominated the charts and full on Juicy Couture tracksuits were an acceptable fashion statement.

The high street is keeping on track with this look, and we've picked out a few of our favourite coloured lenses that are perfect for festival season.

Mornings are hard.

Want a little extra time sleeping? Have an early exercise class? Just not bothered to go through your wardrobe at 6am? Then we have some handy tips to help you get dressed quicker every morning.

Whether you're heading to work or a weekend family brunch, you'll get ready in no time with these four tips:

The may seem obvious, but honestly, how many do you tick on a daily basis?!

Be a weather girl

Listen, we live in Ireland. And as much as we'd like to show off our new gúna, sometimes the weather just won't let us live our best lives.

So instead of listening to a weather report for the entire week, take a look on your phone the night before and then decide what is suitable to wear the next day.

Be practical

Open your diary or calendar the night before and see what's on the cards for the next day.

If you have meetings, then you'll know to dress accordingly. But if it's just a regular day in the office or you're heading for lunch with a friend, then you'll know to dress casually.

Low Angle View of Shoes

Have everything ready the night before

Were you one of those gals that just slipped on their uniforms 30 minutes before school started? You had it all ready to go?

Now that you're an adult, you can still stick to the same routine. Have everything out the night before – including bras, knickers, etc – so they're waiting for you in the morning.

Don't forget about your handbag

There's no point having all of your clothes ready, and then racing around the house to find your diary and keys for 20 minutes.

Make sure you have your handbag, and all of its essentials, ready to go for the next day.

accessory, bag, blur

See, this plan is foolproof!

2017 is fast becoming the year of bizarre fashion.

Last month Topshop brought us the clear-panel mom jeans, and now Levi’s presents, the bum zip!

#VETEMENTSxLEVIS @mytheresa.com @kevingiacco

A post shared by VETEMENTS (@vetements_official) on

Yep. Vetements have collaborated with Levi’s on a range of high-rise, distressed denim jeans that you zip up the back.

But why? Well, no one really knows tbh.

They also zip all the down the legs for reasons we're not entirely sure of.

Honesty, we don't see this trend catching on any time soon.

Especially considering these designer jeans will set you back a massive € 1,450.

As glamorous as it sounds, working in fashion is no walk in the park.

It's not all about the glitzy events or the red carpets. It's about creative ideas, concepts, and working seamlessly with designers, photographers, stylists, hairdressers, make-up artists, and models.

So, whichever route you want to take in the industry, we'd suggest you read one (or all) of these books:

Love Style Life by Garance Doré

Garance Doré began her fashion journey as a blogger, and then made her way into the photography and illustration business.

In her book, there's a mix of stories, career advice, and of course, her gorgeous illustrations.

Leave Your Mark by Aliza Licht

If you've ever heard of @dknyprgirl, then you need to read this book.

Aliza shares her personal stories about working in one of the biggest fashion houses, and gives you tips on how to build your own personal brand.

Tales From The Back Row by Amy Odell

If you still think the fashion industry is glamorous, then read this book.

Amy takes her readers behind the scenes of Cosmo, and writes about her (difficult) climb to the top.

Fashion (Oxford History of Art) by Christopher Breward

This little compact book is well illustrated and would be perfect for reading on your commute to college or work.

If you're working in the industry (or want to), then you'll need to know various terms and a bit of history, so this is the perfect place to start.

The Fashion Designer Survival Guide by Mary Gehlhar

Whether you want to be a designer or not, this book gives a great insight into the industry.

Mary gives advice about creating your own fashion label, drafting business plans, hosting runway shows and basically everything in between.

Summer is fast approaching and that means so are our summer adventures.

But one thing that always comes between us and our adventures is those dreaded blisters and cuts from wearing the wrong shoes.

It happens year after year, holiday after holiday, and we still haven't learned to buy the right footwear.

Fashion over comfort doesn't always work so well, huh?

But now, FitFlop has launched its new SS17 flipflop, and all of our prayers have been answered.

Not only do they look super slick, but they have iQushion technology, which is lightweight and also contours into the shape of your foot.

FitFlop uses biomechanics in its footwear; a science that applies mechanical principals to the human body.

But is putting so much science into a pair of flipflops really worth it?

Hell yeah, if you don't want to have burning, sore, blistered feet at the end of the day.

The mechanics of this shoe pays attention to the pressure points and pressure lines of your foot, which means you get all day comfort.

Well, that's us sold.
