From dishing dirt on their exs to taking down Honey G, Little Mix are dominating this week’s headlines.

But just because they’re one of the world’s most popular girl bands, doesn’t mean they’ve escaped the criticism of Twitter’s infamous trolls.

After performing their latest release, Shout Out To My Ex, on The X Factor over the weekend, the girls were hit with a barrage of abuse online for their outfits of choice.

Commenting on the band’s mix of leotards, crop tops and thigh-high boots, social media users asked: “Why do Little Mix have to give in/conform and go for the prostitute look?”

Others suggested that the group “have turned into strippers”.

When quizzed about the comments on The One Show last night, band member Jesy Nelson defended the stars’ style.

She said: “Our mums are all for it and I think it’s nice that we’re four young girls who are confident in our bodies and want to go out there and rock it.”

“We don’t get told what to wear,” she continued.  “If we want to wear something, we’ll wear it.  And the thing is…no one moans when Beyoncé comes out in a leotard, so what’s the difference with us?”

Leigh-Anne Pinnock suggested that because the girls first entered the entertainment world in their teens, the public sometimes forget that they are now adults.

She said: “Obviously on The X Factor five years ago we looked so young, we didn’t know what we were doing…Now our fashion’s evolved and we’re a bit more daring and we’re very confident in ourselves.  That’s a good thing, no?”

If it’s good enough for Beyoncé, it’s good enough for us.

After learning that a Chanel bag is a more solid investment than a house, our fashion focused daydreams became that bit more luxurious.

And while it is obvious that designer goods will never come cheap, it seems there is no better place to splurge than on the other side of the Irish Sea.

Thanks to Brexit, the pound has fallen to a six year low against the euro which means the UK has some major deals to offer Irish fashion fans.

According to new research from Deloitte, designer goods now cost less in London – when compared in dollars – than anywhere in the world.

Earlier this month, a Speedy 30 Louis Vuitton handbag cost £645 ($802) in London, €760 ($850) in Paris and $970 in New York.

As reported by the BBC, China was the most expensive place to make the purchase, with the same piece costing 7,450 yuan or $1,115.

The argument for a shopping spree is quickly gaining pace.

If fashionable Crocs weren't bad enough, there's now a new invention – The Slanket, "the original blanket with sleeves."

We're all for comfort when it comes to fashion, but when you're practically wearing your childhood blankie out of the house, we think it might be a step too far.

A Cosmopolitan writer said that it's a "fierce fashion statement waiting to happen," but it's not. It's just not. It's a blanket FFS!

We get that when the days are cold freezing, and you just want to stay in bed, this slanket might seem like the greatest idea on earth… but a fashion statement?!

In the video Cosmo posted, Charles Manning, the stylist and writer, is seen styling the girls in their blankets, turning it from a fluffy piece of fabric to a skirt or a dress. And while his skills in jazzing something up are excellent, wearing a blanket outside of the house just doesn't sit right with us.

No matter how you try to dress it up, it's still going to look like you just pulled it off your bed and wrapped it around yourself last minute – especially the polka dot one.

It's a… nice idea, but not for us. Sorry slanket, we just ain't buying it.

When I attended London Fashion Week for the first time three years ago, I left a note for myself in my iPad before flying home, reminding me not to take fashion so seriously.

After getting caught up in a PHYSICAL CRUSH outside of one over-subscribed show, and being 'scooched' out of the way by Made In Chelsea stars making their way to the FROW at another, I was left distinctly disillusioned by the whole experience.

So, while I walked away disappointed, I did learn something really important about the fashion industry: sometimes, you can't take it seriously and it's better off to just have a bit of craic.

A photo posted by art to fashion (@hfashione) on

I was reminded of this as I watched models wearing what appeared to be swimming hats and crystal elf-ears, strutting down John Galliano's catwalk at the Maison Margiela showcase, at Paris Fashion Week. Yep, that actually happened.

So, in tribute to some of the truly ridiculous Fashion Week looks of the season, I decided to recreate some of my personal faves – and I think it's clear I won't be road-testing them in public anytime soon.

Fendi’s metallic lip

This didn't actually turn out as badly as I thought it would – it looks fab, but I can't imagine it would withstand Thursday night cocktails with the girls. I'll leave this one to Gigi and Bella.

Thom Browne's 'bonnet'

Thom referred to it as a bonnet; I'm calling it for what it actually is: a shower cap. In the words of Simon Cowell, it's a no from me.

Céline's mismatched boots

Look, I'm all for breaking the mould, but I couldn't even walk straight in this look. While the real deal might work (think Sabrina, The Teenage Witch's Libby in those mismatched knee-socks), the DIY version just ain't cutting it.

Vetements' sleeves over hands

This one has been knocking around for a few months now, and the street style stars were all over it this season. Funny, I didn't catch sight of any of them holding a Starbucks while rocking the look – probably because that would be IMPOSSIBLE!

Versace's boob belt

Coco Chanel famously once said that before a lady leaves the house, she should look in the mirror and remove one accessory; three guesses as to which piece I'll be choosing!

Don’t get me wrong, I adore fashion and get WAAAY too excited about the bi-annual Fashion Month showcase; but, like anything else in life, sometimes we need to look at the funny side. Plus, embracing the ridiculous can actually be a liberating exercise!

I guess this means 'shower cap chic' is a thing now, right?

Whether she’s dressed in high street or high end attire, Kate Middleton always manages to land a spot on our best dressed list.

Stepping out for World Mental Health Day, the Duchess of Cambridge was snapped today wearing a stunning floral chiffon dress of Kate Spade design.

The mother of two paired the pink number – which features a collared bow tie neck and dark buttons to the front – with a set of nude heels and a matching clutch.

According to katespade.com, the Encore Rose Chiffon Dress retails for $498 (around €450) and is still available for purchase online in a range of sizes.

But since the “Kate Middleton Effect” is bound to hit soon, we’d advise buying this dress ASAP.

While there has been much criticism of Insta-famous models in recent months, it’s becoming increasingly obvious why big brands are opting for girls with strong social media followings over those who do not.

In the month since TommyXGigi first hit the runway, almost half of the nautical themed collection has sold out.

And – according to the New York Post – Gigi Hadid has helped bring thousands of new customers to Tommy Hilfiger with her capsule collection.

Interestingly, the styles which are no longer available are not simply the cheapest items in the collection as a €299 Cotton Band Jacket is among the sold-out pieces.

In the aftermath of Brangelina’s breakup, the Internet was quick to take sides with Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie and – for whatever reason – Brad’s ex Jennifer Aniston.

But while most people watched the web-based hysteria from a distance, online retailer Missguided decided to get right in on the action.

On the back of the drama, the popular site released a trio of coloured t-shirts, each of which is donned with a “Team Brad”, “Team Angelina” or “Team Jen” logo.

While Missguided is well known for its cheeky approach to marketing, the move did not go down well with the brand’s followers, with many taking to Twitter to denounce the controversial tees.

One social media user wrote: “Hey @Missguided How about t-shirts which say ‘Team Not Pitting Women Against Each Other.’”

While another said: “Why are @Missguided selling “Team Brad”, “Team Angelina” and “Team Jen” t-shirts?  Bit rude cashing in on someone’s divorce like that, nah?”

It seems Missguided has not been swayed by the backlash, as all three tops are still available for purchase on the site.

I’ll admit, I’m basically always on the prowl for outfit inspo.

Whether it’s in the office, out on the streets of Dublin or online, if I see pieces I like, I’ll immediately start thinking how I can make it work for me.

And while my main source of inspiration is definitely people I see walking by in town, another major source is famous folk.

Let’s be real, I can’t dress like a star everyday. Hell, I don’t feel like getting dressed at all some days.

But when it comes down to it, how easy is it to dress like a celeb? Can I pull off the same looks that they do? Will it cost much and will I be comfortable?

These are all questions I’m asking myself as I take on the task of Dressing Like A Celeb.

So, to get to it, this week I decided to dress like Cara Delevingne and this is how I got on.

Now, I’m not saying I have her body (obvs) and it feels like I’m a full person shorter than her, but I went for some outfits that, I think, looked totally UNREAL on her.

First of all, I decided to go for Cara’s looks in her new Puma campaign. Of course, she looks like an absolute beaut with rock hard abs…but would I look just as good? I tried it out.

OK, so no. Cara’s new take on sporty leggings/underwear just looks like I forgot to pull my trousers up (I also didn't have the balls to wear a crop top). While I love the River Island hoodie, and the Life Style Sports leggings are super comfy, trying to look like Cara did not work out well with this one.

And who am I kidding anyway, I go to the gym about… Never… I never go to the gym.

Cara – 1 / Me – 0

So, since the sporty look didn’t work out too well, for the next look I opted for something a bit more classy and covered-up.

It took a few tries but eventually I got the scarf where I needed it. I also put my hair up in two buns like Cara did.

Cara wore the black cut-out jumpsuit with a green tie around her waist. I wore a black top and trousers, both from River Island, and tried to wrap a green scarf around my waist.

I usually wouldn’t go for anything like this if I was going out myself, but I ended up LOVING this look.

At first, I feared I would look like a little green alien child but it actually turned out OK.

I’m super happy with this look and it's an outfit that would be really comfy on a night out too! Win, win.

Cara – 1 / Me – 1

Now, when I saw Cara wear the next outfit, for some reason I was totally drawn into it. It literally looked like she grabbed a Sharpie marker and drew a black line down her neck.

Something a three-year-old would do, yes, but when Cara did it, it was fierce.

I have no doubt that Cara had a team of make-up artists behind her on this one, so when I got my black marker out, I was shaking like a leaf.

What if it smudges? What if I make it look crooked? What if I get it on my boobs?!

I took a deep breath, and began. And it was graaand.

Cara wore a v-neck black dress, and I tried to match it with this River Island velvet number. I loved the dress, and thought it was very ‘Cara’ but I’ll pass on the big black line (and no bra). I think it makes me look like I have a bobble head – and that’s not attractive.

I’m not going to say this look totally worked, because it didn’t, but the dress was a good fit for me, and I’ll definitely be wearing it during party season.

Total: Cara – 1 ½ / Me – 1 ½

In the end, I realised that no, I can’t 100 percent dress like a celeb and get away with it. But, I have learned that if you just give an outfit your own little twist, you’re good to go.

This isn’t over yet, though. I’ll be on the prowl for more celebrity looks to steal. Watch this space.

When party season springs around, it can be difficult to choose what to wear.

Will I be too dressy? Too casual? Is this outfit too much? And most importantly, do I feel good/comfortable in it?

Here's seven great black dresses that are perfect for party season:

1. The Classic

If you're heading for the classic look, this dress is perfect. With an asymmetric neckline and peplum hem, it's like buying designer on the highstreet. Team with simple black heels and your fave jewellery and you're good to go.

So whether you're sitting down to a big meal or grooving all night on the dance floor, the shift dress has you covered.

7. The On-Trend

If you want to go with something that is very on-trend this season, the slip dress is what you need. This Topshop one is great as it has a bit of length, but you can also put a little top underneath if you're afraid you'll be too cold.

While the royal tour of Canada featured a multitude of designer gear, the Duchess of Cambridge finished her trip with a more affordable look.

Greeting crowds in Victoria over the weekend, Kate Middleton kept things high street chic with a cream blazer and black skinny jeans from Zara.

Beneath the jacket, the mother of two – whose selling power has been well documented – wore a ribbed top from H&M.

The look was finished with a pair of J. Crew loafers, a set of pearl drop earrings and a gold necklace – all of which could be easily replicated with cost effective dupes.

With a sister like Nicole, Sofia Richie is bound to know a thing or two about fashion.

But while most celeb’s wardrobes are well out of the average woman’s price range, Sofia’s latest bomber jacket is an absolute steal.

The 18-year-old model recently stepped out in perfected casual wear with a pair of faded black skinnies, a cropped white tee and a champagne coloured satin bomber from Pretty Little Thing.

The Karia jacket features cross stitch detailing to the front, comes in three different colours and, best of all, retails for just €39.20.
