Are you a lover of PHASHUN but are searching for a great cause to donate to? Well, boy do we have the event for you.

Faisean Éire's unique Fashion Showcase will exhibit stunning pieces from novel Irish designers tonight at 7pm in the Chocolate Factory, and it's set to be quite the night.

Proceeds from the evening will be donated to Pieta House, whose 'Two in Eight' campaign reflects the statistic that one in four people in Ireland will experience mental health issues at some stage of their lives.

Performances will include a catwalk show with 30 gorgeous and unique pieces designed by 10 fashion grads and students.

The show will bring three art forms together in a spectacular charity event; a fashion show from professional and diverse designers, murals on the walls of an industrial setting and last but not least, aerial artists showcasing their skills.

Chloé Commins and Polly Shapkina are two aerialists featured in the event, who will be using hoops and silk to impress the fashion-forward guests.

The pioneering show 'Two in Eight' marks the shocking statistic that one in four people in Ireland will suffer from mental health problems; Pieta House will use the funds to help counsel those with suicidal ideation.

Sinéad Ronan Wells, Fundraising Executive for Pieta House, commented on the vital need for events such as these;

Pieta House operate a network of centres across the country, employing 270 qualified therapists. In 2018 we saw over 7,000 clients who were either at risk of suicide, engaging in self-harm, or bereaved by suicide," she added.

News hit recently that Kanye West and Kim Kardashian are expecting their fourth child via surrogate, and already the parenting qualms are emerging.

A source has revealed to People that the rapper and reality star are already on the hunt for the best possible clothing for baby number four, and are officially "in nesting mode."

Despite having three other children, five-year-old North, three-year-old Saint and 11-month-old Chicago, apparently the famous couple want BRAND NEW clothes for their newest family edition.

“They don’t really do hand-me-downs, so each baby is like their first,” according to the source, who added that the reality star and rapper husband donate the used clothes to charity.

“They’re buying everything they need for him, and Kanye insists they go top-of-the-line for everything. So they’ve been shopping," the source added.

Apparently the Yeezy designer is a major online shopper; “When he can’t sleep, he gets online and buys whatever he wants. A lot of what they’re getting, they order online.”

That is one lucky baby, by the sounds of things.

People also claimed last week that Kim is planning a huge upcoming baby shower; "Family and friends will be able to honour the couple with gifts soon enough."

“Kim plans on having a baby shower for No. 4 too. They are looking forward to another baby.” Their son is due in the spring, which means excitement is building for the baby.

In November 2017 the Kardashian-West clan had an extravagant party in honour of Chicago.

Fans of Kardashian West may recall the extravagant party thrown in honor of Chicago in November 2017, which was filled with cherry blossoms and her famous family members.

The Keeping Up with the Kardashians star formerly commented during an interview with Elle that “my home and my heart feel really full right now,” she said she was open to having another child, but it would be her last.

“I don’t think I could handle more than that. My time is spread really thin,” she admitted. “And I think it’s important that in all couples, the mom gives the husband as much attention as the kids.”

The couple appear to be going all out for their latest, and possible last, feature to their fabulous family.

Saoirse Ronan stepped out in a custom-made Gucci gown – and she was SMOKIN'.

The silver floor-length dress had a plunging neckline, crystal embroidery and fringed embellishment that oozed a 1920 fashion-feel.

Saoirse embodied the movie star feel and her role in Mary, Queen of Scots was adored by critics – G'wan, gal.

Lady Gaga's purple Valentino Couture gown was all the talk of the red carpet.

It was speculated that her outfit choice was a tribute to Judy Garland.

Judy wore a similar dress in the 1954 remake of A Star is Born, where she played Ally – the same role as Gaga.

However, Gaga explained that the purple gown was just coincidental and she didn't mean to copy Garland.

The early noughties WORSHIPPED the French manicure, and all of a sudden we're seeing a major comeback.

Between Ariana Grande using the trend as part of her iconic 00's chick-flick themed Thank U, Next music video, and Ocean's 8 featuring the nail art, fashion has taken a turn.

White-tipped nails were huge back in the day, everyone who was anyone sported the chic style craze. Heiresses such as Paris Hilton and Kim Kardashian West aided the movement.

The trend appeared to die by the time 2010 came along, with those in the ensuing decade calling it cheesy and (*gasp*) TACKY.

The tide is turning, because the nail style is appearing everywhere from red carpets to fashion shows, from celebrity appearances to music videos.

We're seeing massive 1990s comebacks, from bands such as the Spice Girls and Westlife as well as reboots of popular TV shows and movies such as Sabrina.

It makes sense that nails should follow fashion and popular culture, and we're SO ready to whip out those white tips.

LeChat celebrity nail artist Elle has said that;

"Fashion has taken a '90s turn from influence, so of course the trends have returned from that era. I'm enjoying the new modern twists, maybe because it comes from my era."

"How you approach the modern take is vital; the nail shape should be a ballerina, not a square. If it's not done right, it will become 'basic'," she commented.

Heaven forbid.

Are you ready to WERK the trend, or do you think it should stay in the 2000s where it belongs?

We're sure you all remember the teen heart-throb and sandy blonde protagonist of Saved By The Bell.

The absolute hunk that was Zack Morris was played by Mark-Paul Gosselaar, who is now hoping that the show will have it's reunion on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon.

Hold on to your nostalgia hats, because Saved By The Bell is set to have it's 30-year-anniversary, so we suddenly feel infinitely older.

Jimmy Fallon previously had the cast-members back for a mini-reunion on-screen in 2015, which the internet was DELIGHTED for, and the star is hoping for another TV celebration.

The 44-year-old actor shot to fame back in 1989 playing the main character of the show, and it's now renowned as one of the biggest treats of the 1990s.

The 90s fashion alone has remained iconic, but we haven't seen much of the cast since the show ended, except for Mario Lopez and Gosselaar.

Lopez, who portrayed AC Slater, has remained in the TV business through his penchant for presenting. Mark-Paul has also stayed in the industry, playing roles in NYPD Blue, Franklin & Bash and now The Passage.

Gosselaar recently spoke to Metro, and stated that there are currently no plans to get the crew back together for the anniversary; "No, we haven’t discussed anything."

He continued:

"I think the last time we did something for the 25th was with Jimmy Fallon, so possibly he might have something up his sleeve which would be great."

"I think we’d all gladly take up the offer if it was there to reprise that role with them."

PAY ATTENTION JIMMY. Give the world what it wants, and deserves.

We're all most likely familiar with the incredible Marvel film Black Panther.

One of the biggest phenomenon's of 2018, and the highest grossing superhero movie of ALL TIME, the hiring of a nearly all-black cast was a pivotal moment in cinema.

The setting of Wakanda remains one of the most iconic aspects of the film, which mainstream fashion has gripped onto.

Image: Polygon

The film's acclaimed costume designer Ruth E. Carter wanted to change the public's generalised perception of the African continent;

“I want people to have a new vision of the continent of Africa,” she told Refinery29.

“I want people to understand it's not just this dark place where everyone dresses the same with bones in their nose, living in a grass hut. People need to see this is a modern continent. It has a voice and an aesthetic.”

Unfortunately, clothing brand Forever21 have released clothing inspired by the film, but have gotten into some hot water when it comes to the models chosen…

Fans of the film are NOT happy to see possibly the palest man in existence modelling merchandise for the infamously diverse movie, but some fans are claiming that the backlash is unfounded.

Forever21 tweeted; "Wakanda Forever, get the sweater here" last night, alongside a photo of a mens' top, named a 'Wakanda Forever Fair Isle Sweater.'

Twitter did it's job, to say the least. The clothing company quickly deleted the tweet, but the image is still on their website.

If you click on the link, it redirects you to another model, this time a diverse one, wearing a yellow and black sweater.

There's nothing wrong with a person of any race enjoying a movie's merchandise of course.

However, many users online were troubled at the perceived whitewashing, considering the film is arguably the first superhero of it's kind to appeal to all races, ages and genders.

Whitewashing has been appearing in fashion more and more recently, with Zara and H+M getting into trouble for missteps in their high street fashion.

Prada found itself getting backlash last week for a shop window display featuring a charm eerily reminiscent of a Blackface character.

We think Forever21 need to be a tad more careful with it's marketing campaigns…

Popular high-street store New Look has been at the centre of a major controversy after it was uncovered that they were charging more for plus size clothing.

Maria Wassell said the store placed a “fat tax” on their plus sized range. She explained that a pair of green trousers were £22.99 in the plus size section, however, when she spotted the exact same pair of trousers in the standard size section they were £19.99, making them 15 percent cheaper than the plus-sized pair.

Many people have disagreed with Maria’s accusation, stating that the store has a right to charge more for clothes from their Curves range.

One Twitter user argued that plus size clothing needs more material, therefore, there is nothing wrong with charging more for them.

“I’m plus size, more fabric is required, more time to make the garment. Why shouldn’t I pay more?” one user asked.

Another said, “New Look’s ‘fat tax’ complaints are stupid, you’re using more material and material costs money. It’s like saying you can’t charge me more for a bigger bag of pick n mix.”

“Children’s clothes are priced according to age in the same style. Why should these be any different?” another said.

One woman shared, “I am plus size and noticed the price difference but wasn't offended by it. The £3 difference is reasonable considering they use more fabric than other sizes, if it was £10-£20 difference then I'd complain.”

Another said it was a bad move, "I kind of see why it's done, but it's still pretty unfair as we're taxed into submission already, there's no need to start on our clothes!"

"Same amount of work no matter what size. What about petite or short do they pay less than tall and large?" one asked.

New Look has responded to the backlash. They told Sky News: “To ensure pricing differences like these don't happen in future, we are in the process of reviewing the pricing structure of our plus-size collection in a way which works best for our customers and our business.”
"We are proud of the ranges we offer to our plus-size customers and value all customers, no matter what their body shape or size,” they added.

Do you think people should pay more for plus size clothes?

Imagine a man in a tux at a black-tie event. He has the looks and style that grabs everyone’s attention, only to pose and reveal a canvas-strap wristwatch. Not to say that the canvas strap watches are inferior, but they are just not appropriate for the outfit.

Matching your watch to an outfit can be quite simple for a fashion savvy person, but it can be challenging for those who lack basic knowledge. Matching your watch with an outfit is actually a form of art.  We are currently obsessed with the official Olivia Burton watch range which you can wear with style.

The choice of watch you choose is a reflection of your personality, your style, and your tastes. Some may argue that matching your watch with your outfit depends on the band or strap, but a person who understands fashion will tell you that it’s more than that.

Many other factors come into play when choosing the right watch-outfit combinations. Below are a few guidelines to help you understand what goes with what.

Match Your Watch to the Formality of Your Outfit

Watches and outfits have levels of formality. A general rule of thumb when matching your watch with your outfit is to match the formality of your timepiece with the formality of your outfit. Let me explain further how you do that.

  1. Black Tie, White Tie

Traditionally, people were not supposed to wear a watch to a black-tie event. However, today you can wear a simple, classic dress watch. You don’t need to look flashy and extravagant on a black tie or white tie occasion, so a dress watch will do just fine.

Dress watches come in a wide range of styles and colours, but one with minimally embellished face and black leather band will be acceptable even to conservative observers.

  1. Business Formal

Business formal dresses are worn every day and are more versatile regarding what you can wear them with. Here you have a wide choice, but you don’t want to appear frivolous when at a meeting or business deal.

Dress watches are a perfect choice, especially if you’re wearing a dark suit. Dive watches are also an option as they are formal while still maintaining their functionality.

  1. Business Casual

This is the outfit that you wear everyday as you go to work such as a non-formal necktie optional business suit. Here we are talking about khakis, button-down shirts, sports coats, denim, leather shoes, etc.

The outfit is best complemented with a pilot watch, a high-end chronograph, or even a field watch. However, almost every type of watch can blend well with your casual business outfit.

  1. Casual Outfits

This is where your most casual clothes fall, including your jeans, polo shirts, and tees. All watch types, except the dress watch, will be perfect.

Dive watches, sports watches, pilot watches, and smartwatches can easily be matched with casual outfits. If you’re going to get involved in physical activity, the more rugged military watches would be ideal.

A note on military watches: Just like pilot watches and dive watches, military watches are not worn solely by officers, but rather can be worn by anyone.

They are quite classic and high-tech, and ideal for outdoor activities. To learn more about them, you can check out this list, and you might just fall in love with one.

  1. Sportswear

There are only a handful of watches you can wear while you engage in sports. However, this also depends on the kind of sport you’re participating in. If you’re only engaging in sports for recreational purposes, a field watch, dive watch, chronograph, and smartwatch can do. Just ensure that the watch is light and comfortable.

Match Your Watch Strap to the Formality of Your Outfit

Once you’ve decided on the type of watch that will match best with your outfit, you should go a step further to pair in terms of the material of the watch strap.

Leather bands are considered more formal than metal bands, and black is more formal than brown. Gold and silver metal bands are also appropriate for the most formal of events and can be ideal for dressy occasions.

Metal Complements Metal

The metal case of the watch and the metal bands should complement other metal accessories you’re wearing such as cufflinks, belt buckle, and shoe buckle. A gold watch can be worn with a gold belt buckle.

Leather Complements Leather

When wearing a leather strap watch, you should use your shoes as a reference. Match your belt to your shoes and then match your watch with both.

A brown leather band should be worn with a brown belt and brown shoes while a black band should go with a black belt and black shoes.

Metal Bands Match Better With Certain Colours of Clothes and Shoes

When a watch has a metal band, you can wear it with black or brown shoes. However, certain band colours work better with certain colours of clothes and shoes.

Gold watches are ideal for clothes and shoes in brown, tans, and beige tones while silver goes best with black, blue, and grey.

Conclusion

Wearing your watch to complement your outfit can be challenging but fun. People can often judge your sense of style by the small accessories you wear.

Therefore, while you may have a favourite watch in your collection, it’s important to match your watch to your outfit appropriately.

Christmas is just around the corner and I am VERY excited about it.

As the eldest sister I feel like there's more pressure on me to buy amazing gifts for my sisters. Finding the perfect gift can be a complete and utter nightmare, but I realised there are so many essential things to buy your sisters; basically everything they steal on you.

My sisters are forever 'borrowing' everything and anything on me, from jeans to deodorant and from my curler to perfume. And tbh I'm fed up with it.

So how do we solve this problem?

Buy them the thing they're ALWAYS robbing on you. This gift guide is here to help my fellow struggling sisters who have had enough of their siblings and the constant case of missing belongings.

Buying a gift for your friends or family can be difficult enough when they don't possess 'notions.'

What are notions, you ask? Well, it's essentially when a person has grandiose elements of extravagance; whether in terms of fashion, style, food & drink, décor or just in their everyday life.

They drink non-fat, no-foam, five-shot half-caffeine pumpkin spice latte in a special cup at a certain temperature and will refuse to do most activities due to footwear, except yogalates.

 Related image

You'd never catch them drinking cans, especially not Tesco lager; they're most likely only drinking a craft beer that no one has heard of or a slimline tonic with lime cordial and a shot of vodka on the side.

Plebs such as us probably would take a taxi or public transport to a club, whereas someone with 'notions' might take a large limousine with white doves as their accessories.

According to the Urban Dictionary definition:

…You get the idea. It's luxurious hipster-ism.
