Katy Perry revealed to her fans on Twitter today that she is starting up her own record label.

Katy had been teasing her fans for a while with an exciting announcement and Katy finally revealed that she is planning to venture out on her own with her new record label, Metamorphosis Music.

Katy wrote on Twitter today: “I am so ECSTATIC to finally announce my NEW label Metamorphosis Music & my first signing, the incredibly talented & soulful FERRAS! @ferras”

Ferras is a singer and songwriter from L.A. and is also currently on the Prism tour as Katy’s support act.

Katy spoke of her record label back in 2012 and revealed the process would take a while, as she wanted to work hard to ensure all artists would be treated fairly.

“I’m preparing for it now. And when this record label does come to fruition, I’m going to try and avoid the things that take away any fighting chance for an artist to have financial success. As people are coming to me with opportunities, I’m thinking, ‘How would I want to be treated?'”
