With Electric Picnic just around the corner, our beauty expert Odette tells us what we need to look fresh all weekend.
Bonnie Tyler has been added to the line-up for this year’s Electric Picnic!
The legendary singer is set to hit the stage at the Electric Ireland Power House in the coming weeks at Stradbally Hall, and no doubt thousands of revellers will be delighted when she belts out ‘I Need a Hero’.
We know we will be…!
Bonnie spoke of her delight to be invited to perform at the festival: "I'm thrilled that Electric Picnic invited me to perform at their Electric Ireland Power House I know that there is great energy at Electric Picnic and I am really excited to be there."
Here’s a reminder of Bonnie in all of her glory.
Have you gotten you EP ticket yet or are you holding out for a hero?!
This video of an Irish girl dancing at the recent Longitude festival has gone viral for all of the right (and oh so wrong) reasons!
She has got some serious moves, we're impressed!
Are you ready for the weekend, ladies?!
There are always some people we encounter at festivals. And here they are:
1. The Underage Ones
These are always very easy to spot…
2. The Middle-Aged Ones
Spot these bad boys in their faded Metallica tour t-shirts from 2007, rocking out with their significant other half, loving life and hating the masses of children that surround them. They’re here purely for the music.
3. The Uber-Cool Parents
These cool rents probably live in a loft converted apartment by the cool canal district, with their one year old “Finn.” Finn is probably dressed in a striped babygro and a quirky hat, to match his parent’s quirky style. They’ve brought Finn along, so that when he’s 5, they can tell him he has already witnessed Haim live. It’ll really add to his street cred.
4. The Very Drunk Ones
Yes, pretty much everyone could be considered drunk at a festival, because pretty much everyone drinks at a day festival. However, there is a delicate balance between drunk and very drunk. Drunk is dancing, laughing, having fun. Very drunk is sneaky naggins, vomming your ring up near the main stage and spending four hours in the medical tent. That and ruining everyone’s day.
5. The High Ones
Find the high ones in the quirkiest corner of the festival. They’ll be hanging out in the techno meets house meets “you’re not hipster enough to be here” corner.
6. The Couple
There are two types of couples at a day festival. The ones who attend because they both love the line up and the ones who attend because their other half loves the line up.
7. The Fashionista
Every girl at a festival thinks that she’s going to stand out. But then we all end up looking the same…damn.
8. The Boys On Tour
The lads are here to have the time of their wee lives. They’ve kitted themselves out in River Island’s spring/summer collection. They’ve had a six pack in the house before they even left and now they’re kick-starting on the pints inside.
9. The Next Spielberg
These are the ones who, instead of watching the gig like a normal person, insist on holding their phones a meter above everyone’s head to record a fabulously shaky, screechy video that’s unlikely to make it any further than their hard drive. The point of it all is to seemingly prove to everyone that they were in fact, there. Promise.
10. The Attention Seeker
There’s usually a scattering of these about the place. They’ll be dressed in either a onesie, swimming gear, a mask, a hat bigger than the average car, a morph suit, a variety of neon shades or just fancy dress in general.

Check out the full line-up below!
Last weekend saw thousands of festival goers flock to Marlay Park where Longitude was held. Niamh Geaney got chatting to one of the main stage acts Josh Record right after his killer performance.
Apart from being an incredibly talented musician, Josh has also led one heck of a life. We learn of near death experiences, belly dancing in Oman and living room sessions. Check it out.
With Longitude just around the corner, it’s time for us to start getting festival ready. While there’s nothing wrong with being prepared with some fancy wellies, it can be still fun to glam it up when it comes to our favourite festivals. Here’s a list of some fashionable footwear that you just might just get away with wearing at this year’s summer festivals:
Biker Boots
Practical and stylish, the biker boots are must have for this festival season. Some are on the pricey side but fortunately there are some affordable pairs at our local high-street shops.
Runners
Depending on how muddy the festival grounds really are, runners are the perfect festival footwear for keeping comfy and stylish while standing for hours on end.
Tall boots
Verging on wellies but not quite. Tall boots are not only perfect for the muddy festival grounds but stylish too.
Jellies
If you’re lucky and we mean really lucky, jellies are the essential fun footwear for this year’s festivals. This of course depends on the weather because no matter how colourful those jellies are they won’t feel nice when saturated with mud.
With Body and Soul starting this weekend, it won’t be long until the summer festivals are well and truly in full swing.
If you are heading to any festivals this summer, you will do well to read these tips to ensure you leave the festival healthy!
Don’t forget your vitamins
Spending the weekend eating burgers, chips and crisps won’t give you a hell of a lot of vitamins, so make sure you stock up on them before and during the weekend.
Bring some fruit
We know, we know, the last thing you want taking away any limited alcohol space in your bag is fruit, but you will thank yourself if you bring it. A couple of apples and orange are great and the juice content is perfect for when you are feeling, shall we say, hungover?!
Granola bars
We all know breakfast is the most important meal of the day and no a day old pizza does not count as brekkie. Pop a few granola bars in your backpack and munch on them in the morning and throughout the day for energy.
Water
Make sure you drink lots and lots of water, especially if it is exceptionally hot outside. If you don’t fancy spending a fortune on bottled water bring your own – you will definitely thank us for this tip.
Hand sanitizer
And finally, don’t whatever you do go to a festival without bringing your hand sanitizer – have you ever seen a port-a-loo after three days of use by thousands of people…
1. The post Leaving Cert posse
You’ll know the ones, they are usually either puking or passed out, overwhelmed by their new found sense of freedom.
2. The girly weekend
These groups of girls always stick together no matter what. Apart from the one who wanders of a lot that is…
3. The drug crowd
This gang will be easy to spot. They will be very sweaty and pulling some seriously scary faces.
4. It’s all about the music guys
These guys don’t even drink at festivals, for fear it would take away from the music experience. They look disapprovingly at you as you scream towards the Prodigy stage. Whatevs.
5. The drunken festival goer
They latch on to your crowd and it takes a whole night to shake them off.
6. Parent trap
Parents seem to getting more and more adventurous when it comes to festivals.
7. The loner
They came on their own for some bizarre reason no one can work out.
8. The miserable one
No amount of fun can help this sad cookie!
9. The cigarette burner
People who spark up fags in a crowd should be banned.
10. The unnatural
Those girls that emerge from their tents looking like damn Miranda Kerr just rocked up. How the hell do they do it?!

We’re so excited about all the festivals coming up this summer – and while you may have spent days planning your outfit, one thing that often gets forgotten about is how you’re going to keep yourself fed over the weekend.
No one wants to fork out a fiver for a burger, so be smart and bring food that you can easily snack away while watching your favourite act too.
Pasta salad
Prepare a healthy pasta salad in a tub and keep it in a freezer bag (or outside the door of your tent – it is Ireland after all). The carbohydrates will give you energy and add some veg to get your dose of vitamins.
Bread
A slice pan is always a welcome food source at any festival. Even if you forgot to bring a knife to spread the butter, you will thank your lucky stars that you remembered the slice pan when you wake up after a particularly late night!
Hard boiled eggs
A must have at any festival – eggs are loaded with protein and good fat. Get them into ye!
Cooked chicken drumsticks
Cook some chick drumsticks before you go and put them in re-sealable plastic bags – this way you can turn the bag inside out and eat them without getting your hands all messy!
Jellies
Well, you’re there to have fun right? And you need to keep your blood sugar up, obvs.

The hit bloggers modelled the latest festival collection wearing the label’s new kimonos, leather jackets and shorts styles.
Lois, who was modelling the new festival gear said she that the label starts at a size 12.
“Simply be have some great festival favourites this season, like the denim lace trim shorts and Aztec print tops! I love that their sizing starts at size 12, means I can enjoy more of their pieces this summer!”
