There are days when fitness bloggers inspire us to work out and there are days when their perfectly sculpted pictures appear anything but achievable.

This week, fitness guru Ashlie Molstad achieved widespread Internet fame when she challenged this perception of unattainability by revealing the difference posing can make to an Instagrammer’s physique.

Placing an image of herself standing upright while tensing her muscles alongside a photo in which she is sitting in a relaxed position, the 31-year-old perfectly demonstrated how one body can shift from sculpted to seemingly untoned because of differing angles, even when dressed in the same clothes.

In the accompanying caption, Ashlie (or @FoodieGirlFitness) pledged that her followers will always be shown both her “posed, put together, professional side” and her “not so flattering sides”.

“Contrary to what society has taught us to think, our worth isn't measured by how many belly rolls we have, or how many dimples on our booty, or how much jiggle hangs out on our arms,” she wrote.

“Loving ourselves exactly as we are is hard.  Because we've been told for years that we're not good enough until we {insert any of the thousands of ideas of perfection that has been fed to us over the years}.”

“But I call BS.  I say that the real magic happens when we embrace who we are, at every angle and size.”

Demonstrating that the Internet cannot get enough of the authenticity it is so commonly criticised for lacking, Ashlie’s post has been liked 164,000 times since it was uploaded on Friday.

Among the post’s 9,000 comments, one inspired follower wrote: “This is exactly what young girls need to see!  And even at 25 I needed this reality check.  Thank you so much for being brave enough and posting this.”

With the Kardashians uploading every second of their gruelling workouts to Snapchat, it’s easy to be under the impression that all celebs take their gym time super seriously.

But thankfully Ellie Goulding and Ruby Rose proved that suspicion wrong over the weekend when they decided to play fitness models for their fans.

A video uploaded to the Orange Is the New Black star’s Instagram account shows the Love Me Like You Do singer trying to do a set of pull-ups in the gym.

But when the camera scrolls down, viewers quickly realise that Ellie is receiving some much needed assistance from her Aussie mate.

As her latest contribution to social media suggests, Kourtney Kardashian’s gruelling workout regime has been well worth the time, effort and mula she’s put into it.

While September rapidly snatches away what’s left of our summer feels, the 37-year-old reality star has been providing us with some major winter workout inspo as she holidays with her former partner Scott Disick and their three kids in Miami.

Last night Kourtney used Instagram to share a photo of herself wearing a low cut canary yellow swimsuit as she made the best of her time by the sea.

And – in testament to the stunning nature of the shot – Kourtney’s post has already been treated to the applause of over half a million likes.

The picture comes just a week after the eldest Kardashian sibling treated fans to a glimpse of her luxury yacht trip around the French Riviera.

Oh, to be famous…

Every day hundreds of people are trolled online, but there seems to be be a worrying increase in pregnancy-related body-shaming in recent weeks.

One of the latest women to speak out against this trend is Australian lawyer and fitness guru Daegan Coyne whose baby bump has been criticised online for being too small.

The mum-to-be took to Instagram this week to speak out against the trend while sharing a picture of herself (and her bump) in a multi-coloured bikini.

Sharing a similar message to that of American blogger Brittany Aäe, Daegan pointed out that no matter what size a pregnant woman is there always seems to be someone willing to tell her that her shape is unhealthy.

She wrote: “I have had pregnant friends called out for being ‘too big’, others ‘far too muscly’ and myself, the ‘you're way too small’.”

“Given I am yet to see one lady carry their pregnancy shape and size the same as another, I believe it's safe to assume peeps that there is no ‘one size fits all’ pregnancy.”

“I know heaps of the comments aren't meant to be hurtful or upsetting by any means, but we all have enough to worry about being a new mum (omg scary) let alone whether you are the size you are ‘expected’ to be.”

The bodybuilder went on to highlight that it is very difficult to accurately judge the health of a baby by looking its mother’s bump.

She said: “I don't think anyone even knows what this size is. I've been told one day I am carrying really high and the next ‘wow you are carrying so low’.”

“Bubba is in fact above average size for at 30 weeks, I am just good at hiding her.”

Fair play to Daegan for standing up for herself and other expectant mothers.

The Internet can be a nasty place for women whose bodies don’t abide by “normal” beauty standards and as one endurance athlete recently proved that idea applies to women at both ends of the size spectrum.

By the time Brittany Aäe was 39 weeks pregnant, the fitness coach was fed up of people criticising her toned body.

Taking to Instagram, Brittany posted a photo of her heavily pregnant body beside that of plus-sized model Tess Holliday – who recently gave birth to a baby boy – to highlight that despite their very different body types and weights both women were being subject to abuse for their pregnancy figures.

She wrote: “In this image these two women are at about the same stage in their pregnancies – 39 weeks.”

in this image these two women are at about the same stage in their pregnancies – 39 weeks. that is the gorgeous @tessholliday looking boss on the left and me with the defined abs on the right. she is a voluptuous model and I am a sinewy mountain athlete. both of us are shamed for our size – she for her roundness and me for my smallness. both of us are having or had healthy pregnancies as validated by our healthcare providers. both of us are making empowered choices about our personal health. why does our society shame women whose bodies do not adhere to some narrow notion of false normalcy?  let's instead keep our thoughts and words about other people's size to ourselves. pregnancy is tough enough without also being body shamed. #effyourbeautystandards #momshame

After pointing out both the similarities and differences between herself and Tess, Brittany – who purposely documented her pregnancy fitness regime for those who were interested in staying in shape through pregnancy – asked why were they being so heavily criticised.

throughout pregnancy I was so scared of how my body would look and feel after pregnancy. as a mind-body athlete, my body is my sacred vehicle for gnostic movement, my only home, my treasure. I couldn't bear the thought of ringing in my big 3-0 (two weeks from now!) in a body that didn't feel like home. so, after overthinking it too much this is me two weeks before pregnancy, twenty weeks pregnant, thirty nine weeks pregnant (and actually in labor), and one week postpartum. when I was at the gym each day taking these photos I did the same workout: ten pitches in the 5.10-5.11 range followed by a run. happy to report that, in that last image, I felt STRONGER than in the first image. I am sharing not to brag, to make others feel bad about their own unique journeys, or to put any 'should's out there. I share to dispel fear other pregnant athletes might hold about their own post-pregnancy bodies. please allow these images to broaden your idea of what a 'normal' pregnant and postpartum body looks like. once again I feel at home in my body – except this body just got done blood doping for ten months while wearing a progressive weight vest. I'm coming for you, Bust tha Move! #pregnantathlete

Brittany – who runs the Magnetic North blog – told Elle she was sick of “the general idea that women’s bodies are somehow public property”.

We think that is something everyone is sick of.  Point well made.

She's not afraid to speak her mind and is quite open about the daily struggles of life – which kinda makes us all relate to her.

And her most recent struggle is shedding those extra few pounds.

The 25-year-old is determined to slim down, saying that her fondness for junk food is holding her back.

"Doner kebab meat. Truthfully, I have it maybe once or twice a week," she told Now magazine.

"I've just started exercising quite a bit actually. I'd say I do HIT (high intensity training) about three times a week.

"My boyfriend is super-fit so it's good having him on side because he's quite motivated."

Scarlett is currently enjoying a holiday with her boyfriend, and posting loads of pictures to keep us updated.

Irish model, Maeve Madden, has opened up on social media about the painful truth of digestive disorders.

Maeve, who lives in London now, took to Instagram to show her 75,000+ followers that she is not always "rocking abs and feeling lean," but instead, suffers from a painful bloated stomach due to, "hormones, food intolerences and IBS."

In her shared before-and-after picture, Maeve wrote: "Just wanted to share this painful reality, I have learned a lot over the past few months after being diagnosed coeliac and lactose intolerant but every now and again I have foods my tummy hates and well, the darn hormones are something all ladies have to deal with (sic)."

Being a coeliac, Maeve is unable to digest gluten, and with IBS, which is a large intestine disorder, the Irish model will have extremely sore cramping and abdominal pain.

We're glad she's making a stand to show her followers that everything isn't always picture-perfect.

Made In Chelsea bad boy, Spencer Matthews, is known for his partying ways and dramatic love life, but it seems the star has turned over a new leaf recently as he’s dedicated himself to fitness and model girlfriend Morgane Robart.

The 26-year-old reality star – who lost a staggering 13lbs in just one week – showed off his super toned physique in a series of new photographs which are pretty much all biceps, pecks and abs.

But Spencer’s new body didn’t come easy as it has been revealed that the original MIC cast member has been enrolled in a gruelling Ibiza-based bootcamp which involves punishing 12-hour workouts ran by ex-Special Forces fitness gurus.

The bootcamp has previously been attended by Spencer’s MIC co-star Binky Felstead as well as Vanessa White from The Saturdays.

Spencer was famously kicked off I’m a Celebrity… after just three days in the jungle last November when it was discovered he was addicted to steroids.

In a recent shirtless Instagram post he described the situation as “moronic” and revealed that he’s finally back in shape.

He wrote: “After my moronic mistake in November last year I’ve been working hard to be clean and healthy and have never felt better.”

So now that Spencer's back in shape, will he come back to Made In Chelsea?

We'll have to wait and see, but in the meantime at least we have those pics.

Social media fitness star Anna Victoria went viral this week after she shared a very unique set of pre-wedding day photographs with her one million Instagram followers.

The face of The Body Fit Guides has been widely praised after she highlighted the difference getting the right angle can make when taking photos by comparing before and after fitness pics which were actually taken only minutes apart.

A photo posted by Anna Victoria (@annavictoria) on

The first image shows the social media personality looking seriously toned in a black bikini and is captioned “Ready for my dress”.

The second picture – which Anna placed directly beside the first in order to highlight her point – shows her sitting in a far less flattering position so that her stomach looks nowhere near as toned as before.

The caption on the post – which has now been liked almost 75,000 times – explains the reasoning behind the share.

It says: “Picture on the left was taken one day before the wedding and the picture on the right was taken…2 minutes after!  Someone recently said to me that we all have our good angles and we all have our bad angles, so why do we let our bad angles carry so much more weight than our good angles?"

At a time when people are feeling increasingly pressurised to always look picture perfect, we think Anna's message is just what we needed to hear.

We've always envied Laura Whitmore's trim bod – and now she's giving us the secrets to her fitness regime.

Speaking to The Star magazine, Laura said that she enjoys various ways to stay healthy.

"I’m obsessed with Bikram yoga – I try to do that four times a week – and I also run,” she said.

She also admitted that she stays away from diets – as many of them are fads – and believes that balance is all you need.

“It’s all about balance for me. I would never completely deny myself something. I don’t believe in starvation because food is too nice.

“Sometimes I use a fitness app and think to myself, ‘I either have a glass of wine or a bar of chocolate.'”

But as all women, Laura still has her hang-ups. "I like my legs but they could always be a bit longer,” she said.

We're loving her take on a healthy and balanced lifestyle… We might just adopt it ourselves!

Lauren Goodger has been charting her fitness and weight loss journey over the last year, eating clean and hitting the gym in a big way.

While her Instagram is never short of bikini snaps and workout selfies – she is promoting her new fitness DVD, after all – it was this week that fans really noticed a huge difference in her size and shape.

The reality star posted a before-and-after snap of herself in identical black bikinis, one from halfway into her weight loss journey and one from this week. Cop a look at those abs:

And while that tan is most definitely fake, Lauren's getting no shortage of sun this week, as she's been jetting between various beach resorts with her boyfriend Jake McClean.

Lauren admitted recently that it was Jake's "tough love" approach that gave her the motivation she needed to get fit – but she promises he meant his comments well.

"Before [losing weight] I was very much in denial," she explained on Loose Women last month.

"Jake said to me, 'Cor you’ve put on a bit of weight!;' and my sister said to me last Christmas, 'You’ve got a bit big!'

"I can laugh about it now, but I needed to hear it to change."

And even though she's dropped three dress sizes since slimming down, Lauren says for her it's having a strong mind and body that's important.

"I’m not skinny, I’m strong and fit – there’s a difference," she said of her naturally curvy shape.

"I look healthier than ever. I am a lot stronger in my mind, I don’t take anything negative, I feel so much better because of this."

Washboard abs, toned arms and perfect legs… Vogue Williams might have a body to die for, but she makes no secret of the hard work she puts in to stay looking her best.

The model regularly shares photos and videos of her high-octane workouts on social media, and it's clear she's not one to slack off in the gym.

Case in point is this bum and ab workout, which Vogue shared with close to 100k followers on Instagram yesterday.

We're getting tired just looking at the short clip, showing an intense mix of pylometric box jumps, squats and burpees which Vogue blasted through with the help of her trainer, Maya Saffron.

The worst part? This was only a tiny portion of the model's workout – she promised to share the full thing on her Hello! magazine blog next week.

Wow. And it turns out we're not the only ones feeling envious/motivated by Vogue's latest workout video – her fellow model Nadia Forde was quick to comment on the post, calling Vogue her "fitspiration."

Nadia has been hitting the gym hard herself of late, after dropping over two stone in the last year through a mix of clean eating and no-holds-barred workouts.

"I go to the gym four or five days a week now," she told the Irish Independent last month.

"Boot camp taught me how much we can do in the gym if we really push ourselves. You'll never find me just going in for 20 minutes anymore and floating through.

"I'm in for an hour and sometimes I'll do a class along with my workout in the gym. I feel guilty if I don't go to the gym but that's just become a thing lately."

Fair play to these two amazing ladies.
