Dublin Fringe Festival is about to kick off all over the capital, and if you're struggling to choose a piece of culture to immerse yourself in, never fear.

Here is s concise list of truly unmissible installations, comics and theatrics happening this September.

Alison Spittle, Worrier Princess

If you are not already accustomed to the comedic stylings of Alison Spittle, then strap in my pals (also, where have you been?)

Spittle perfectly pairs relatable 'I'm thinking it but she said it' humour with personal insight, this show examines a variety of topics which worry the creative.

Her third show with the Fringe is set to be her best yet.

Not Not at All, Just Not At Home

Not at Home is a free, durational piece of art depicting the awful extents that Irish women are forced to go to in order to have a safe abortion.

'In June 2017, we visited BPAS Merseyside in Liverpool.'

'From these texts and our experience of recreating this journey, we are creating a durational art work featuring video, sound installation and live performance.'

The performance will take place at NCAD as part of the Dublin Fringe Festival.

Why Wont You Have Sex With Me?

An inclusive conversation about the sex lives of those with disabilities, Louise Bruton promises to deliver a fresh insight into preconceptions, societal expectations and sexuality.

Three of four dates for this Project Arts Centre Show are already sold out, so you better act fast.

Double Decker Bus

Presuming you are one of the 1.1 million subscribers to the Facts YouTube channel, you will already be familiar with Davey Reilly.

Charged by an ebbing nervous energy emitted in the form of searing self depreciation and imaginative elocution, prepare to explore the themes of death, existence and online simulations all in the space of an hour.

Off beat nuances and obscure references abound.

We're All Mad Here

If immersive, head scratching and thought provoking art installation is your jam, then step right up.

Created by Grainne O'Carroll, We're All Mad Here presents the viewer with a combination of visual art, theatre and dance.

Foil Arms & Hog: OinK

These gentlemen need absolutely no introduction.

Breathing new life into the discipline of sketch comedy, the trio have seen massive success in recent months, both online and IRL.

Sean Finegan, Conor McKenna and Sean Flanagan will have you in stitches thanks to their imaginative, authentically Irish and occassionally ridiculous theatrics.

From their engagement announcement skit to their take on the pre-holiday chaos which ensues in every Irish household, Foil, Arms and Hog are easily one of the most popular comedy acts on the Irish circuit.

Deftly tapping into the quirks and idiosyncrasies of Irish society, the trio, who formed in 2008, have had audiences eating out of the palm of their hands for almost a decade.

And nowhere is this more evident than in their hilarious examination of Dublish – English spoken by Dubliners, natch.

Focussing on verb formation, oral cadence and most commonly-used expressions, Foil, Arms and Hog tap absolutely nail it.

But enough out of us; take a look for yourselves…

The engagement ring has barely been placed on your finger, and you're already being forced to consider neighbourhood politics, your mother's desire to invite relatives you've never met and your granny's reaction to a Humanist ceremony.

Congratulations, you've just gotten engaged in Ireland.

Tapping into the drama that generally accompanies an engagement announcement around these parts, Foil Arms and Hog have uploaded a video that, if we're honest, reads like a transcript of every post-engagement conversation that has ever taken place in our homes.

We're going to let the lads do the talking on this one…

Most of us have our parents to thank for teaching us how to drive.

And it was probably the worst experience ever, right?!

From the constant 'watch now', to 'handbrake, handbrake, HANDBRAKE' being screamed at you, it's no easy feat.

And don't even mention them reaching out the window to talk to someone they know while you're just left there with no notion what to do.

Well, Foil, Arms and Hog have just created a p*ss take video, and it's simply brilliant.

The lads nailed it.

Unless your family is the type to hightail it off to sunnier climes a few days before December 25, chances are you'll be having the same Christmas as your neighbours… and their neighbours… and their neighbours.

The same dinner will be eaten, the same conversations will play out, and the same arguments will be revisited year in and year out, and while we wouldn't have it any other way, we often find ourselves wondering if this really is the case with all families.

Thankfully for us, comedy act Foil Arms and Hog have assured the public that this is, indeed, the sitch nationwide, and it's time to accept it… and embrace it.

So pull up a seat, ladies, and watch 'your family' in all their glory.

If you're the type of person who sets the kitchen on fire making a cup of tea, then it's always nice to know you're not alone, right?

With our social media feeds awash with other people's culinary accomplishments, it can be easy to think that nightly disasters in the kitchen are the reserve of you, and you only.

Thankfully, comedy act, Foil Arms and Hog, are on hand to remind the rest of us mere mortals that cooking dinner is not easy – end of story.

Whether it's forgetting to turn on the hob, fishing through a bin for cooking instructions or forcing yourself to finish the charred mess in front of you, these lads have your back.

And for some of us here at SHEmazing HQ, this video like looking in a mirror.

If we were offered one extra day in 2016, it's fair to say most of us would politely decline.

From the shocking implications of global politics to the passing of much-loved and high-profile figures, the first eight months have been seriously rough.

And with what seems like an ever-increasing threat of terror and senseless violence, many of us have uttered the phrase 'What is the world coming to?' more times than we ever thought possible this year.

And it looks like the lads from comedy act, Foil Arms and Hog, are with us all on that one.

In a Facebook upload which perfectly illustrates a widespread perception of the world right now, the lads can be seen assessing various countries with a view to travel.

And it is (unfortunately) on the money.

If you've watched your mother clean the house within an inch of its life before every single fortnight abroad, then the latest Foil Arms and Hog video is going to speak to you on an emotional level.

Shining a spotlight on the chaos which ensues in every household before the whistle is officially blown on the start of the family holiday, these lads absolutely nail it.

From your mam's desire to increase security without breaking the bank to your dad's need to keep check of everyone's luggage weight, this video is like watching a playback of our childhood summers.

If your front hall on the morning of a summer holiday was more stressful that the first day of your Leaving Cert, you're definitely not alone.

Lads, you've done it again.

With debate surrounding the result of the Brexit referendum continuing to rage, more than a few of us are starting to pull at our collars as we're forced to admit that we haven't quite gotten our heads around the implications of the whole thing.

And while recent reports have bombarded us with endless information pertaining to the UK and the EU's relationship not to mention Ireland's role in the whole thing, some of us still need a little help understanding what the future holds.

Oh, and just when you thought you had it nailed, Boris Johnson had to go and throw another spanner in the works by pulling out of the race for Prime Minister leaving many of us totally flummoxed by political events over the last seven days.

If you have to remind yourself who's who and what's what when it come to European politics, you're not alone and the good folk behind comedy act, Foil Arms and Hog, NEED you to know this.

Take it away, lads.

You may be familiar with Foil, Arms & Hog if you are a fan of Irish comedy.

The comedic trio are perhaps best known for making hilarious and often extremely apt spoof videos about various aspects of Irish life and culture.

And now that we finally know that we will be hitting up polling stations come February 26, we have been given a snapshot of what we can expect over the next three weeks.

Yep, they have accurately captured the media circus that is the run-up to the general election in our fair country.

Watch the hilarious video below:

One of the many things an Irish person living abroad will come to realise (aside from how nobody seems to be able to comprehend the pronunciation of 'Caoimhe'), is our sarcasm can get us into trouble.

Our unconscious obsession with irony can often lead to some unfortunate miscommunications and misunderstandings.

Foil Arms and Hog have managed to sum up pretty much all of these awkward encounters in their latest video, and we love it.

We recommend using this video as an explanation the next time the cousins from America come to visit and need help understanding what exactly the craic is all about.

The Tiger Dublin Fringe is back for another fortnight of innovative theatre, skilled performances, side-splitting laughter and everything in between.

Running until September 20th, this year's programme has tonnes to offer, with 75 shows across 24 Dublin venues.

But which ones are worth shelling out your hard-earned cash on? We've rounded up some of our favourites so far, and previewed the best of what's yet to come. Take a look…

The one we wish wasn't over

Douze
Xnthony
Black Box at Smock Alley

Douze finished its run last night, but we reckon this won't be the last you'll see of Anthony Keigher. Going by the stage name Xnthony (pronounced X-Anthony, doncha know), this pop-loving singer has high hopes of representing Ireland at the 2016 Eurovision, and he wants you to help him choose his winning number. Accompanied by his sidekicks The Penny Slots, Xnthony takes us through a glitter-filled (and vodka-fuelled) set list of potential tunes. From Numbers – who knew counting to one hundred could be so catchy? – to the 'show-stopping' Invincible, this is a charming and energetic show that we can only hope to see recreated in part at next year's Eurovision.

The one everyone's already talking about

boy
Sean Kennedy
Black Box at Smock Alley
Sept 15 – 19
Tickets: €14/€12 concession

'When I sing, I leave this world. It feels like crying but it’s different.' So says classically-trained tenor Sean Kennedy, who is bringing his story to life through a mix of song and performance in his one-man show, boy. Using songs as 'emotional vents' to help him tell the audience his tumultuous story, Sean's show is set to be one of the stand outs of this year's Fringe. And with that in mind, you had better try and hunt down a ticket fast because they're already like gold dust.

The one where they'll feed you too

Twenty First: Feeding Time
Fringe Lab Rats
Back Loft
Sept 14 – 17
Tickets (inc. meal) €25/€23 concession

You're invited to celebrate the Fringe's coming-of-age with a 21st birthday celebration, along with a host of well-meaning lab rats. Sit down, taste some seriously delicious food and raise a glass. But remember, this is an experiment, so all is not what it seems…

The safe bet for date night

SkiddlyWup
Foil Arms and Hog
Smock Alley Theatre
Sept 9 – 19
Tickets €16/€14 concession

Comedy lovers will know Foil Arms and Hog from their hilarious YouTube channel, their sell-out Edinburgh Fringe shows and their appearances on the festival circuit. Now this slick, sharp and totally off-the-wall sketch comedy trio are back with a new show, SkiddlyWup, headlining at Smock Alley for the duration of the festival. Expect to laugh until you cry, and then some.

The once-off you HAVE to get to

Hootenanny!
Megan Riordan and James Walmsley
Spiegeltent, Wolfe Tone Square
Sept 20
Tickets €25

Hootenanny! is back to close this year's Tiger Dublin Fringe with a show-shopping spectacle of theatre and comedy. Finish off the weekend in style at this 'gregarious get-together,' curated by Dead Cat Bounce's James Walmsley and Once stage star Megan Riordan. Sure to please even the most hesitant of Fringe-goers.
