Biteclub Streetfood Discotheque brings a menagerie of eclectic menu choices to life, ranging from spicy fish tacos and Korean sesame chicken to deep-fried churros and the creamiest mac and cheese in the land.

Oh, and it's a cardinal sin to leave Biteclub without sampling one of their lethal watermelon and gin slushies.

Have you ever wanted a good excuse to have to avoid cooking? Well, thanks to Deliveroo your prayers have been answered.

The last thing you want to do on the weekend is slave away in the kitchen like Cinderella. We can't help but daydream about going out for brunch or dining at that fancy new Italian restaurant your colleague has been raving about, but sadly our bank accounts won’t allow it.

Luckily, Deliveroo is offering free delivery across all restaurants this Friday and Saturday.

Hallelujah!

Every restaurant on Deliveroo in Ireland will be taking part in this special free delivery deal across Dublin, Cork, Galway, Limerick and Belfast over the two days.

Liam Cox, General Manager of Deliveroo Ireland shared: “We’re thrilled to be able to give our loyal customers the opportunity to take advantage of our free delivery offer."

He hopes this offer will encourage people to try new food: “I'm hoping this will encourage more people to want to try out some of their favourite local delicacies, so there’s no reason not to indulge!”

We will certainly be treating ourselves this weekend thanks to Deliveroo.

Why not make the most of this offer and gather up your friends for a night-in. You could all order your favourite dish and share with one another, that way everyone can try something different, whether that’s a gourmet burger or some salmon and avocado sushi.

Don't think for a minute that we are going to complain about this heatwave.

The weather is absolutely glorious, we get to wear all the summer clothes we usually only get to put on during our summer holidays (away from Ireland it is) and we are actually starting to get a tan (a real one).

While a cold beer is definitely our beverage of choice at the moment, food wise, all we really want to eat is a tasty ice pop. Good thing is, they are super easy to make, and if you don't go crazy on the sugar, they are usually quite healthy!

Try some of the recipes below, they will make for a delicious frozen snack!

1. Mexican ice pops

2. Blackberry cheesecake popsicles

Veganism has become pretty popular these days, with the number of vegans in the UK rising by 360 per cent in the last 10 years, according to a recent study by The Vegan Society.

With this in mind, we're sure there are plenty of Irish people willing to try the vegan lifestyle, which strictly prohibits the consumption of any animal by-products.

Veganism has been cited to improve the health, aid weight loss and be better for the environment than a carnivorous diet according to its followers.

Here are a few tips to get started if you want to give it a try:

8. Watch a few documentaries.

There are plenty of documentaries out there about the reasons for going vegan, and plenty of videos about how to do it efficiently.

Films like Earthlings, Cowspiricy and Vegucated have been credited for turning many people on to the vegan lifestyle.

A warning though, these flicks expose the grim realities of the meat and animal by-product business and may be a bit much for squeamish folk.

7. Order PETA's free vegan guide

Animal rights organisation PETA is a huge promoter of the vegan lifestyle.

They have a free Vegan Starter Kit for those interested, all you have to do is head to the website and give your address, and the kit will be sent out to you anywhere in the world, completely free.

6. Make small swaps

Making small steps like swapping cow's milk for soy or oat milk and switching crisp flavours can take your diet from carnivorous to vegan.

There are tonnes of options to try when it comes to milk and cheese alternatives.

5. Try new things

Speaking of these alternatives, don't be afraid to branch out of your comfort zone and try some new taste experiences.

While almond butter and hemp seeds may not sound the most appetising, trying vegan alternatives is so important in order to maintain a balanced plant-based diet. It's not just about eating salad!

A post shared by HappyRealFood (@happyrealfood) on

4. Consider why you're doing it.

There are people who move to veganism for ethical reasons, those who do it for health reasons and those who do it to lose weight.

Having a clear motive for your transition will make sticking to it so much easier.

3. Ditch dairy.

People cite the amazing benefits of minimising their dairy intake.

Ditching dairy is a prerequisite for the vegan diet, but it can also help clear the skin and put an end to bloating.

A post shared by Bonnie (@the_wholesome_vegan) on

2. Consider your non-food choices.

A lot of people who choose veganism for ethical reasons look further than their diet when it comes to incorporating the message into their everyday lives.

Some avoid leather or products made at the expense of any animal, and actively avoid beauty products that test on animals or include animal by-products.

1. Keep an eye on the carbs.

When going vegan or even vegetarian, it can be easy to rely on pure carbs to keep yourself going if you haven't taken the time to look into new food choices.

This can leave your plates looking pretty beige, so make sure you're getting plenty of variety into your diet.

If you have committed to going vegan, or if you are just trying to introduce more plant-based food to your diet, you may have noticed that eliminating animal produce isn't THAT hard.

But while you can make some delicious curries, pies and pasta dishes without missing meat or dairy, baking is a whole other story.

How do you replace cream cheese in a cheesecake? How do you bake without eggs? Luckily, a lot of vegan bakers have answers these questions and come up with the most delicious vegan versions of your favourite cakes.

You are welcome!

1. Apple caramel cheesecake

2. One-bowl chocolate cake

3. Chocolate chip cookie cheesecake

4. Lemon cake

5. Gluten-free carrot cake

6. Vanilla and berry layer cake

7. Coconut chocolate cake with vanilla coconut frosting

8. Plum and polenta upside-down cake

9. Snickerdoodle cupcakes

Scrolling Instagram in search of the most visually appetising food has become one of our passions in life.

And behind one of our favourite foodie Instagram accounts is Amanda Holtz, aka Yummy Dublin.

Looking at her feed, you would wonder how Amanda manages to sport such a healthy figure with what she puts in her mouth…

"When people look at my page, they assume I must be a 300-pound woman!" she laughs. "In actuality, I am a fairly good example of how to add balance to your diet. I eat quite healthy during the week, and allow myself 2 – 3 spread out cheat meals, which end up on YummyDublin."

"Life is about balance and food tastes so much better when it’s a splurge!"

A post shared by Dublin Foodie (@yummydublin) on

What is your typical breakfast?

6 out of 7 of my breakfasts consist of egg white omelettes with tonnes of veggies. I am a big fan of goats cheese and sun dried tomatoes so they almost always make an appearance as well.

On Sundays, I love a good brunch. I usually always go for a Benedict covered in Hollandaise sauce but if there’s something that seems particularly different or wild on the menu, I’ll go for that. And always with a side of extra crispy bacon!

What about lunch?

My lunches are usually huge salads with lots of veg and protein. My splurge lunch is (no surprise) a big fat juicy burger and American style buffalo wings. If calories didn’t exist, I’d live at Just Wing It in Tallaght and just eat both every day!

A post shared by Just Wing It (@wingit_ie) on

What do you usually have for dinner?

Dinners are my usual eating out meals. As I’m sure you can see from my page, I like to switch it up and try different things. Italian, sushi and tapas are my absolute favourites, but I do enjoy a good steak every once and a while too.

Is your diet different at the weekend?

Well, I see my boyfriend on weekends as we live a distance away from each other. As a rugby player, he is able to eat just about anything he wants. So, when we’re together I’m often eating whatever he is.

Mondays are usually my cleanse day because of it! We love a good dessert, so the weekend is when I’m eating all those ice creams and donuts on Yummy Dublin.

Do you snack during the day?

I usually snack on fruits and a boatload of cheese (any kind, I don’t discriminate). I also love Proper Corn – especially the sundried tomato and Worcester sauce kind.

What would be your ideal food day?

Breakfast would be fillet steak, eggs benedict with extra hollandaise sauce, a side of extra crispy bacon, really dense brown bread and butter and a bottomless mimosa, obviously.

Lunch would be from Fallon & Byrne – homemade Pappardelle pasta with an assortment of salads.

And for dinner, I really love sharing food so my favourite dinner date is always tapas. A little bit of this, a little bit of that and of course, a jug of red sangria.

A post shared by Fallon & Byrne (@fallonandbyrne) on

The one food you could have everyday for the rest of your life?

Chicken Parmigiana!

What is your favourite dessert?

Häagen-Dazs Chocolate Salted Caramel Ice cream with fresh crème.

What is your favourite meal of the day?

Dinner because I always overdo it… and it is acceptable to drink a bottle of wine with it.

Your favourite restaurant in Dublin/Ireland/the world?

In Dublin my favourite is actually The Back Page. I love it because not only are the people awesome and the food fantastic, but also the vibe is great. For dinner and drinks, you can get the best pizza in town while kickin’ it and playing board games with your friends. On the other hand, if you go for brunch – you can sit outside and eat it in a hammock! Awesome spot.

In the world, there’s a little restaurant in Ocean City Maryland called Sello’s. It’s a great real authentic Italian restaurant with the best homemade gnocchi you’d ever eat.

The best brunch place in Dublin?

Bloom Brasserie for bottomless bubbly brunch!

Any “food pet peeves”?

I think going out to eat should be a experience, and it can be absolutely ruined by having bad service and especially cold food.

I’m also addicted to hot sauce so when a restaurant doesn’t have it, especially for breakfast, I hate that.

What food would you NEVER eat?

Ketchup. You could not pay me to eat it.

What can we always find in your fridge?

Goats cheese, sundried tomatoes and Ben & Jerry's ice cream.

You have friends over for dinner, what do you cook for them?

I would make Caprese chicken with tomatoes, balsamic and buffalo mozzarella or pasta with grilled chicken & prawns in a sundried tomato cream sauce. Oh and two words… White. Wine.

Do you find it hard to eat a healthy diet in a daily basis?

Not at all, I think it’s a lifestyle change and it’s all about balance. I eat healthy most of the time, making my splurges that much tastier. Plus, when you’re able to cook well or know what to order, healthy food is fantastic.

A post shared by Dublin Foodie (@yummydublin) on

What is your guilty pleasure?

Pasta, ice cream and carrot cake.

What is you go-to drink?

Vodka & soda water or a pint of Guinness, depending on my mood.

Your favourite place for a drink in Dublin?

If I’m having a night where I’ll undeniably end up in Coppers, I would go for a flavoured vodka at Camden Exchange. But honestly, I really love heading to Temple Bar area. I love a pint at the Auld Dubliner and a great Saturday night at Bad Bobs.

Founder of lifestyle blog I Come Undone, Sarah Hanrahan's eye for food, fashion and trends got her crowned Social Influencer of the Year at the inaugural SHEmazing Awards

Scrolling through her Instagram, you'd realise rather quickly that the Dublin-based blogger is a true foodie –  always looking for some exciting new places to try.

From her usual breakfast to the best place for brunch in Dublin, we have asked Sarah all her food secrets!

A post shared by Sarah Hanrahan (@i_come_undone) on

What is your typical weekday breakfast?

Lately I've been introducing protein smoothies into my morning routine as I've been working out regularly but they're nothing fancy – just some protein powder, whatever fruit I have and water.

What about lunch?

My standard weekday breakfast is usually something made around eggs and smoked salmon (I eat smoked salmon nearly every day… I'm obsessed!), maybe a slim bagel with the above or, a salad plate if I'm feeling virtuous.

I try to stick to veggie-based meals or something with fish as I'm getting less and less comfortable with eating meat.

A post shared by Sarah Hanrahan (@i_come_undone) on

What do you usually have for dinner?

I eat out a lot for dinner as you can imagine! I usually have a list of places I'd like to try each month based on a mix of recommendations, my own research and press releases so, I'll aim to head to one or two of them each week.

If it's a meal at home, I like to keep it simple to make up for my indulgences while eating out so again something fish and veg based…

I don't do things by halves so I enjoy myself when I'm out so I try and keep it low calorie when I'm home; the only way I can manage to stay in shape and still enjoy myself!

Is it different at the weekend?

(Warning that I'm about to make the ultimate millennial statement but…) Brunch is a must! My food posts are quite brunch-heavy as my partner Sean and I take our Sunday dates pretty seriously.

Anywhere offering some progressive brunch options will make the cut for me and being dog-friendly or offering comfortable outdoor seating has become vital since we got our little staffy Stanley.

If a heavy night has been had I may indulge in a Sunday night takeaway too.. sure, life is short! Straight back to the green smoothies come Monday morning though!

Do you snack during the day?

I'm admittedly a BIG grazer but try to keep it to a minimum and tend to snack on fruit, corn cakes, homemade soup etc… nothing too bold but the calories do add up nonetheless and I'm not someone who can eat rings around them and stay slim, unfortunately.

A post shared by Sarah Hanrahan (@i_come_undone) on

What would be your ideal food day?

An epic hotel buffet breakfast so I can have a small bit of all the deliciousness to start the day (those mini pastries get me every damn time.), a goats cheese, roast Mediterranean veg lunch (with warm garlic bread).

Then, a veggie burger with all the trimmings, chips and an obnoxious amount of garlic sauce for dinner with fro-yo (& toppings) for dessert. Throw in a Dairy Milk & some Meanies to snack on too… this IS the best food day ever after all!

A post shared by Sarah Hanrahan (@i_come_undone) on

The one food you could have everyday for the rest of your life?

Smoked salmon. Without a doubt.

What is your favourite meal of the day?

I look forward to breakfast the most as I'm always starving when I wake up. If I have the time to go out for breakfast I get so excited about it… it's the little things in life!

The best brunch place?

These questions are so hard to answer for me as I LOVE so many Dublin places but off the top of my head Herbstreet, Canal Bank Cafe, Nimmo's in Galway or Liberty Grill in Cork.

Any “food pet peeves”?

I will eat anything you serve me, I'm not fussy at all. I used to believe that fruit didn't go with food (if that makes sense!) but I've eaten too many epic dishes with fruit in them over the last few years to continue that belief.

What food would you not eat for the whole world?

Live monkey brain… a Malaysian delicacy we came across when travelling. Barbaric. Ethically I could never eat that.

Do you find it hard to eat a healthy diet in a daily basis?

With the industry I'm in there are lots of exciting events with lots of delicious nibbles on offer which can make it hard to stay on track… often they're alongside drinks which make it harder to keep your resolve but I try and keep to not totally depriving myself but having a little.

Also eating out as much as I do can make it harder to watch calories but I rarely have more than one course which helps to avoid over indulging.

A post shared by Sarah Hanrahan (@i_come_undone) on

What is your guilty pleasure?

Crisps!… I love Chilli Heatwave Doritos or salt & vinegar Hunky Dory.

What is you go-to drink/cocktail in a bar/pub?

I love cocktails that have a sour, spicy or basil base.

A post shared by Sarah Hanrahan (@i_come_undone) on

Your favourite place for a drink in Dublin?

Peruke & Periwig for a quiet one. Pyg or No Name for one that might turn into a few and of course Keogh's on a sunny day.

What about lunch?

I’m currently obsessed with Industry's salad boxes – I get one of those almost every day.

They have new salads every day, so you’re never bored. Make sure you get the hummus too – it’s life changing.

What do you usually have for dinner?

Some sort of pasta or fish and vegetables.

When I’m feeling lazy (which is all the time), I get Cotto pizza or Brother Hubbard via Deliveroo.

Is it different at the weekend?

Myself and William have more time at the weekend, so we tend to go wild in the kitchen, and pour loads of time and energy into a meal.

William usually goes all out and whips up a cake too.

Do you snack during the day?

Crisps are my weakness. I’d eat bags and bags of them.

Tayto Cheese & Onion are my fave (at the moment).

What would be your ideal food day?

For breakfast, I'd have almond milk porridge from The Westbury.

For lunch, whatever the special is in The Pepper Pot.

Dinner would be the tasting menu in Chapter One.

Finally, for dessert, I'd have a Cremia ice-cream cone from Japan (the best ice-cream you’ll ever have).

The one food you could have everyday for the rest of your life?

Pasta (all kinds of pasta)

What is your favourite dessert?

Our Currabinny Soaked Orange Cake!

Your favourite restaurants in Dublin/Ireland/the world?

In Dublin, I love Coppinger Row – there’s always such a gorgeous atmosphere there.

In Ireland (this is SO hard to chose!) maybe Café Paradiso in Cork. Proof that meat is not necessary to make an exquisite meal.

The best brunch place in Dublin?

Fia in Rathgar. The best eggs in Dublin.

Do you have any “food pet peeves”?

Raisins; they seem to be in everything and they RUIN everything.

Even people who are fond of a raisin would prefer a plain scone, or to not have them in a curry or couscous.

PLEASE STOP PUTTING RAISINS IN FOOD!!

What food would you not eat for the whole world?

Coddle – not if you paid me.

Our halloumi burgers – they always win hearts.

Do you find it hard to eat a healthy diet in a daily basis?

No, not at all. Good food is plentiful these days, and most cafes and restaurants are pulling up their socks and tweaking menus to suit those after wholesome dishes.

What is your guilty pleasure?

A cheese toasty. I’d have them every day…

What is you go-to drink/cocktail in a bar/pub?

Espresso martini or a G&T.

Your favourite place for a drink in Dublin?

Among the many exciting European cities I have been lucky enough to visit, Rome holds a special place in my heart.

Aesthetically, it is one of the most beautiful places you will ever get to see; culturally, you can discover some truly incredible artwork, feeling like you are walking in an open air museum; foodwise, it offers some of the best food you could dream of.

While the offer is overabundant and overall quite affordable, here are some tried and tested places we seriously recommend if you are planning a trip to the Italian capital this summer.

1. Matricianella

A post shared by Elodie Noël (@elodienoel) on

A few steps from the Borghese Palace, Matricianella is an old trattoria with checked tablecloths, black-and-white-dressed waiters and a menu that will make you drool.

Go for the Taglioni al tartuffo (the truffle pasta), they are a proper masterpiece.

2. Trattoria Da Teo

A post shared by Chriselle Lim   (@chrisellelim) on

Located in the gorgeous neighbourhood of Trastevere, this small eatery offers the most typically Roman experience.

Get a table outside and order some pasta, it will probably be the best ones you have ever tasted – we particularly recommend the Spaghetti alle Vongole.

3. Pizzeria Ostiense

Roman pizzas are quite different to the thick doughy Neapolitan-style pizza we are mostly used to. Paper-thin, with simple yet tasty topping, it makes for a whole new pizza experience.

In the hip neighbourhood of Testaccio, we recommend Pizzeria Ostiense, loved by the locals. You are in for a treat!

4. Giolitti

A post shared by (@zaychiky) on

Open since 1900, this gelateria can be considered a landmark at that stage and some consider it the best one in Rome.

Don't be repelled by the queue and the absolute mayhem inside the shop. Your ice-cream will be 100% worth it.

5. Al Moro

A post shared by (@lalvani) on

Located near the Trevi Fountain, Al Moro is a high-end, 1920s wood-paneled restaurant with a classic Roman menu.

Offering excellent traditional and seasonal dishes, this historic eatery will provide a fabulous Roman experience.

6. Pasticceria Regoli

This family run pastry shop has been serving sweet delicacies since 1916 and is a highly popular shop among the Romans.

Get a selection of pastries and unapologetically make a meal out of it, you won't regret it!
