He broke a lot of hearts when his engagement to Rose Leslie was announced in recent weeks, but his latest remarks are likely to hit even closer to the bone for many Game of Thrones fans.

Kit Harrington, who has played Jon Snow in the hugely successful television programme since 2011, has admitted he's looking forward to drawing a line under it.

Speaking to Digital Spy recently, the 30-year-old Londoner explained that conflicting production schedules means he often has to forego projects he has a keen interest in.

Remarking on the the conclusion of the HBO series, he said: "It will be liberating, just the thought of having a whole year free."

"You shoot for six months, but half of the projects you might want to do will have started shooting before that six months is over."

"There’s lot of things you can’t do," he added of his commitment to the fantasy series.

Turning his attention to the future, Kit said: "I’m looking forward to finishing, and eight years is the right amount of time. "

"I wouldn’t want it to go on any longer than it has. I have other ideas I’d like to look at producing."

Watch this space, ladies.

Game of Thrones star, Jason Momoa, has issued an apology after footage emerged which showed him making light of sexual violence.

The actor was appearing at a Comic-Con panel in 2011 when he discussed the character of Khal Drogo, and the arc of his storyline in the HBO show.

In a move which led many of his fellow panellists to balk, the 38-year-old made a flippant remark about raping women.

"As far as sci-fi and fantasy, I love that there's so many things you can do, like rip someone's tongue out of their throat and get away with it and rape beautiful women," he said.

The emergence of the footage has left social media users disgusted – something which Jason addressed in an Instagram post yesterday.

"I awoke in Australia to the justified reactions by many people to a distasteful joke I made years ago in Hall H for which I am sorry," he began.

"I am still severely disappointed in myself at the insensitivity of my remarks that day. I know the sincerest apology now won't take away those hurtful remarks."

Adding to this, he wrote: "Rape and sexual harassment can reach anyone and I have seen first hand its painful torment among members of my own family and friends."

"I made a truly tasteless comment. It is unacceptable and I sincerely apologise with a heavy heart for the words that I said."

The footage emerged as Hollywood shines a light on the industry's abhorrent treatment of women.

Sorry ladies, but it looks like Kit Harrington is officially off the market.

The 30-year-old reportedly proposed to his Game of Thrones co-star, Rose Leslie, shortly after the pair bought their first house together.

Having began their romance as characters Jon Snow and Ygritte, the couple took their relationship off-screen in 2012.

Speaking about their rumoured engagement, a source told The Sun: "They're yet to set a date, but told friends and family last week that they've got engaged."

"Kit's known for ages he's wanted to marry Rose but he wanted them to get a house and settle down a bit first."

"After moving in together in January he felt it was the right time to take the next step," the source added.

The news come after the couple denied engagement rumours in July this year, when a rep quit clearly told Metro.co.uk “They are not engaged.”

Speaking about his relationship with Rose at the season seven premiere for Game Of Thrones Kit said:

“I think that's the really special thing about it is that we met on this show and here we are seven years down the line back here promoting season seven.”

“I mean it's mad. It's such a special thing. I'm so privileged,” he added.

And while these guys are obviously super in love and deserve all the happiness in the world (blah, blah, blah), there's a little part of us that is completely devastated.

For the next two years, we will be living with a void in our hearts, where Game of Thrones used to be.

Most people will grin and bear it, secretly counting down the days until we can return to Westeros.

However, WE will be spending our time investing in all the merchandise we can find, from makeup to booze (and everything in-between).

With that in mind, we are pleased (and SO excited) to introduce you to the 'Dragon Fire' palette, courtesy of the magical humans at Storybook Cosmetics.

That's right ladies, there is an eyeshadow palette coming out that is completely inspired by our girl, Daenerys Targaryen.

The dreamy cosmetic company just posted a photo to their Instagram saying that they're creating a brand new palette, captioning it: "Dragon Fire Storybook Palette! Artwork approved, onto sample printing and finishing our fire shades!"

So, while no actual shades have been released, we can pretty much assume that the colours will be warm and wonderful.

And if we're being totally honest – we don't really care what the colours are like, because we love Khaleesi so much.

While you wait for this inevitably awesome new palette, why not try Storybook's other Game of Thrones-inspired goodies?

Though their products are not official GoT produce, they're clearly inspired by the fictional world we wish we lived in. Take their dragon scale lipsticks, which went pretty viral online recently.

There is no official release date yet for the Dragon Fire palette, but you can follow Storybook Cosmetics on Instagram here for information.

We're SO EXCITED!

So they might not be official GoT merch, but we're loving the Westeros aesthetic.

The lippies are set to launch around the New Year, so we'll be adding them to our Christmas wish lists.

Time to get your Khaleesi on.

So, the season finale of Game of Thrones will air on Sky Atlantic tonight and without a doubt, one of the most talked about story lines has been the romance building between Daenerys Targaryen and Jon Snow.

However, as it turns out, the two actors, Kit Harrington and Emilia Clarke, have already shared a pretty steamy kiss in front of the camera.

In light of their budding on screen romance, behind-the-scenes photos taken during a shoot for Rolling Stone back in 2012 have resurfaced online – and we've got to admit, they really do look great together.

According to the New York Times, George R.R Martin had always envisioned a romance between the two characters.

“Yeah, I think it’s kind of hard to see that not happening,” said Alan Taylor, GoT director, when asked about the possibility.

“When we were shooting Season One and no one had seen the show yet, we were in Malta. Back then, there was not a lot of secrecy because nobody was paying attention, and George R.R. Martin came to visit and he was being quite open about his plans. He said something: That it really is all about Dany and Jon.”

So, will they? Won't they?

Only time will tell, but we're team Jaenerys all the way.

Like the rest of the world, we're obsessed with Game of Thrones at the SHEmazing HQ.

We waited with bated breath for the arrival of season seven, and now that we're catching up with the goings-on of Westeros, our minds have already wandered to the final season of the iconic show.

The eight season is currently being written, and HBO programming president Corey Bloyes has revealed that it may be a while until we get to see the finished product on our screens.

When asked by Entertainment Weekly if GoT's final season could be as late as 2019, Bloys confirmed it was a 'yeah.'

'Yeah. They have to write the episodes and figure out the production schedule,' he said.

'We’ll have a better sense of that once they get further into the writing.'

A post shared by gameofthrones (@gameofthrones) on

Bloyes also quashed rumours of five potential spin-off shows.

While he admitted that there were four or five ideas for spin-offs in the works, he hoped that through careful curation, GoT writers would whittle them down to one amazing concept.

He also let slip that the spin-off also would not be hitting screens until long after the final season has aired.

'That’s not what’s going on. The idea is not to do four shows,' he told Entertainment Weekly.

'The bar set is so high that my hope is to get one show that lives up to it. Also, this is a long-term plan.'

'Our No. 1 goal is the seventh season this summer and getting the eighth season written and aired.'

Until then, we'll be binge-watching season seven.

Game of Thrones fans are celebrating today after the author of the series, George RR Martin, hinted that he may release two more books next year.

Fans have been eagerly awaiting the sixth instalment of the fantasy novels and now it looks like they have finally got the update they were longing to hear.

In a post on his Livejournal page, George wrote: “I’ve seen some truly weird reports about [The Winds of Winter] on the internet of late, by 'journalists' who make their stories up out of whole cloth.”

“I don’t know which story is more absurd, the one that says the book is finished and I’ve been sitting on it for some nefarious reason, or the one that says I have no pages.”

“Both 'reports' are equally false and equally moronic. I am still working on it, I am still months away (how many? good question), I still have good days and bad days, and that’s all I care to say.”

He also revealed that he is working on a two-volume history of Westeros' history under the Targaryen dynasty.

“Whether Winds or the first volume of Fire and Blood will be the first to hit the bookstores is hard to say at this juncture, but I do think you will have a Westeros book from me in 2018… and who knows, maybe two.”

“A boy can dream," he added.

The author has not released a book since 2011 and the hit HBO television adaptation has already brought characters far beyond the storylines they reached in the novels.

Here's hoping George stays true to his word, but in the meantime, keep an eye on his blog for all the latest GoT updates.

Ed Sheeran made his much anticipated Game of Thrones cameo in the first episode of the seventh series  – and naturally, Twitter went into meltdown.

As we all know, Ed is an extremely talented singer-songwriter, so it was only fitting that he gave us a little tune during his short appearance on screen.

The 26-year-old was dressed as a solider and was singing around a campfire when Arya Stark, played by Maisie Williams, rode through a forest on horseback.

“It’s a pretty song, I’ve never heard it before,” Arya said.

Ed's unnamed character replied, “It’s a new one.”

Masie also just so happens to be a huge Ed Sheeran fan, and according to reports, producers had been keen to get the singer on board as a surprise for the actress.

Although Ed's appearance was confirmed by the show’s creators David Benioff and DB Weiss, fans did not know what episode. Needless to say everyone was a little shook when he popped up on screen.

The Shape of You singer also took to Instagram to celebrate his cameo performance.

It has been rumoured that Ed Sheeran will have some screen time on the upcoming season of Game of Thrones thanks to a cameo appearance.

The singer has now revealed details about his role, and what capacity he will appear in.

It turns out that he will be sharing a screen with Maisie Williams who plays Arya Stark, who is an actual IRL pal of Ed's.

He will also be singing in the cameo, so now we're even more excited to see it.

The singer gave The Hits Radio some subtle clues on his appearance.

'I just do a scene with Maisie,' the singer said.

'I sing a song and then she goes, "oh, that's a nice song"'

All will be revealed when the series returns to HBO in June.

We're all mad about Game of Thrones here at the Shemazing! HQ, so when we heard there was a very specific college course on the subject, we got excited.

The Dothraki are arguably one of the most interesting clans in the TV series, so it's no wonder that there is now a line of academia you can pursue to find out more about their intricate language.

Image result for game of thrones yay gifs

The Linguistics of Game of Thrones and the Art of Language Invention  is a brand new course at UC Berkeley.

The three-part course will run over the summer, and will be taught by David J. Peterson who invented both the Dothraki and Valyrian languages for Game of Thrones.

He plans on teaching the students how to build a language from the ground up, and use the Dothraki tongue as an example.

'In this case, students are going to be learning how to create a naturalistic language,' he said.

'These are languages that attempt as nearly as possible to replicate the quirks and idiosyncrasies of natural languages, those that have evolved naturally on Earth,'

Where do we sign up?
