This morning, Gardai are still searching for 24-year-old Wicklow woman, Jastine Valdez.

Ms Valdez according to eyewitnesses was abducted whilst walking home in Enniskerry.

A man was fatally injured by Gardai last night, according to reports.

The incident occurred at approximately 8 pm in Cherrywood. 

A member of the public saw the man's car in the Cherrywood industrial estate and alerted the Gardai.

On search of the vehicle, Ms Valdez was not discovered. 

Detectives have renewed their appeal for any information, particularly on the movements of the car. 

It comes in an attempt to locate Ms Valdez. 

Reports said that eyewitnesses saw Ms Valdez being taken into a dark Nissan Quashqai car.

The incident happened around 6.45 pm on Saturday, along the R760 Kilcrony road close to her residency in Enniskerry. 

Ms Valdez is described as being 1.52m (5ft) tall, of slight build with long black hair and brown eyes.

The Garda Ombudsman Commission has launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the man being fatally injured.

It is understood that Gardaí are on high alert following reports of teenage girls being ‘groped’ on the Luas Green Line.

The incidents are said to have taken place between Brides Glen and Broombridge.

The Gardaí have been informed of four cases where one man tried to grope schoolgirls on the Luas.

The man in question had been arrested by An Garda Síochána after the alleged attacks but he was released without charge.

An alert has been issued to every Garda station in the Dublin area.

A source told The Irish Sun: 'These incidents are being treated as serious and that’s why an alert was sent to every station warning Gardaí about these approaches.'

'The man’s image has been circulated in case there are approaches on other Luas lines and Gardaí will be maintaining vigilance.'

'If people are concerned about approaches being made to them, they should contact the Gardaí immediately,' they added.

Luas has yet to comment on the issue as it is a legal matter.

Gardaí in Dublin have launched an investigation into an alleged sexual assault involving disgraced producer, Harvey Weinstein.

According to reports, police in the UK have forwarded a case file to Irish detectives in relation to the alleged incident.

The complaint, which was reportedly made by Irish film producer Laura Madden, was first made in the UK last year.

Details of the assault were sent to Gardaí late last year, though investigators have refused to comment on Irish-UK police communications.

Madden, who previously worked for Weinstein’s Miramax Hollywood movie company. was one of the first women to speak out against Harvey Weinstein, telling The New York Times how he would ask her for massages when they stayed in hotels in Dublin and London in the 90s.

"It was so manipulative," she told the paper.

"You constantly question yourself – am I the one who is the problem?"

Criminal investigations continue on both sides of the Atlantic following a series of sexual assault allegations made against the former Hollywood big shot.

A man has been shot dead in Dublin last night.

The man, aged 26, was killed by gunfire at around 10pm last night at James Larkin House in North inner city Dublin.

He was taken to the Mater hospital for his injuries when he later died.

Witnesses say that the gunman was wearing dark coloured clothing.

He is believed to have escaped from the scene on foot.

The scene is sealed off to facilitate a technical examination of the area .

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to contact them at Store Street Garda Station on 01 666 800.

Investigations are continuing this morning after the discovery of a loaded sub-machine gun in Lucan, west Dublin.

Gardaí have arrested a 20-year-old man and he is being questioned at Ronanstown Garda Station, were he can be held for up to 72 hours.

Additional ammunition was also found in the Balgaddy area of Lucan on Sunday evening.

The raid was carried out by detectives from the Garda Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau as part of an operation targeting serious criminal activity.

Investigations are ongoing.

Gardaí in South County Dublin have launched an investigation following the discovery of a body in a public area earlier this morning.

The body of the man, believed to be in his 30s, was made by a woman in a laneway in Dalkey.

Authorities were alerted at approximately 8am.

The deceased has yet to be identified and the cause of death is still unknown, however reports suggest Gardaí are treating the death as suspicious.

Emergency services are currently at the scene while the State Pathologist and the Garda Technical Burea have been notified.

Gardaí have issued an appeal for information following the discovery of a man's body in Co Limerick city last night.

The body of a man, believed to be in his forties, was found in a flat on Little O'Curry Street at around 6pm yesterday evening.

The scene has since been sealed of pending a forensic examination and the State Pathologist has been notified.

Investigators say they are investigating “all the circumstances” surrounding the man's death.

According to emerging reports, a 21-year-old male has been detained by Gardaí in Athlone after threatening members of the force with two knives.

At approximately 01.20 this morning, Gardaí responded to a call in the Willow Park estate regarding reports that a young man was driving an uninsured vehicle through the residential area.

Upon encountering the individual, Gardaí present at the scene were threatened with knives, forcing them to withdraw on safety grounds.

The Irish Examiner reports that the male went on to assault an individual in the estate, who escaped without serious injury.

The assailant then exited the housing estate at speed in the car.

Following a chase on the M6, Gardaí managed to subdue the assailant before making an arrest and detaining him at Athlone Garda Station.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following a serious assault on a taxi driver at Baggot Street Lower, Dublin 2.

The assault occurred on December 18, and the driver was seriously injured. 

The man began arguing with the driver and struck the door of the cab. The driver tried to get out of the car but as he did the man slammed the door and it struck the driver in the face, causing serious injuries to the drivers eye, according to Gardaí.

The incident occured at 2.30am a taxi driver picked up a fare at the rank on Stephens Green North.The passenger asked to be taken to Stillorgan. 

Gardaí investigations found that the man walked along Ely Place and back to Stephens Green East towards Earlsfort Terrace, Stephens Green South and Leeson Street.

The suspected offender is described as 25 to 30 years, 5'7'' to 5'8'', with short hair with a casual jacket and shirt.

The man had a Dublin accent.

Gardaí would like anyone who was in the Baggot Street area on the December 18 at about 2.30am to contact them.

Any cars that may have passed through the area and may have dash-cam footage are also asked to contact Gardaí .

Gardaí have today charged two men in relation to an aggravated burglary in Clonmel.

The burglary occurred in the dead of night on December 17 at a house in Highfield Grove, Clonmel at 3am.

The two men entered the house armed with weapons and assaulted two men and a woman.

The two injured men were brought to South Tipperary General Hospital with non life threatening injuries.

The woman was uninjured.

Two men, one in his 40s and one in his late teens, have been charged.

Gardaí in the capital are appealing to the public for assistance following the disappearance of an 18-year-old youth in Dublin on Friday.

Aleks Malinowski, who is from Clondalkin, has been described as 5 ft 8 inches in height, of slim build with short brown hair which has a line shaved through it on the left side.

It is understood that Aleks was last seen wearing a green and black sports jacket, olive green tracksuit bottoms, black shoes or boots and a navy Adidas woolly hat.

He may also have been carrying a black Timberland bag.

Anyone with any information pertaining to Aleks' whereabouts are asked to contact Clondalkin Garda Station.

Gardaí in Ashbourne are investigating the discovery of a body of a man in his 20s in Co. Meath.

The man’s body was discovery this morning in a field at Walterstown, Dunboyne near the Meath / Kildare border. 

According to RTE, the man sustained gunshot wounds. 

Gardaí are however treating the death as suspicious

The body of the man remains at the scene and has yet to be formally identified, however according to RTE, Gardaí believe him to be an individual who was reported missing yesterday who is involved in organised crime. 

The scene is preserved for a forensic and technical examination.

The office of the state pathologist and local Coroner have been notified.
