Losing a parent is something you never truly get over. It’s a heartbreak that stays with you forever. And one person who knows that feeling all too well is Gemma Atkinson.

The actress penned a heartfelt note to her dad who would have been celebrating his 70th birthday today.

She wrote, “My Dad would have been celebrating turning 70 today. I often wonder how he’d look as an older man.”

“My last memories were of him young, strong, carefree and fun! It breaks my heart that he won’t get to meet little Mia, but the Atkinson Gene is strong, and her certain expressions remind me of him daily,” she shared.

The mum, who welcomed her daughter Mia in July, expressed her hopes for her daughter in the touching letter.

Gemma added, “Happy Birthday Dad! The castle in the sky will be lit up celebrating for you tonight I’m sure.”

Pass the tissues. Gemma’s open letter has left us feeling super emotional. We adore how open the mum is.

There’s no doubt millions of us are missing those we lost on the run up to Christmas.

The current series of Strictly Come Dancing is reaching one of the most exciting stages of the competition with Blackpool just around the corner, but we’re already dreading the end of the 2019 show.

Luckily, the series will return for a once off Christmas special and we’re feeling awfully excited about it since Strictly revealed the stellar line up.

“The sequins really are going back on for Christmas. Back to being out of my comfort zone, out of my trackies and into high heels! Wish me luck!” the mum wrote.

Gemma Atkinson’s latest post has reminded us of how powerful our bodies are.

The new mum shared three shots, one taken during her pregnancy, one taken six weeks after she gave birth and another taken 15 weeks postpartum.

The actress opened up about the importance of staying fit and healthy as a mum.

“My training has even more purpose now I have Mia. I’m her role model! My health and mentally feeling good was always my priority with exercise,” Gemma shared.

“It was never to compete on stage or to chase a certain physique. It was just to be the best version of ME! By making good nutritious choices with my meals without depriving myself (hello once a week cheesecake & pizza) I’m slowly getting back into it,” she continued.

“I started with just cardio around 8wks PP and last week I had my first session back in the gym. It was tough and I had to go back to basics but afterwards I felt amazing! It’s always worth it once those endorphins kick in,” Gemma shared.

“When things get tough, I remind myself that I’m a Mum. A badass Mum. A privilege sadly denied to many… I’m so lucky, that's what keeps me going,” she added.

Gemma’s body positive post has filled us with inspiration. Exercise has an incredible impact on your mental health so we’ll be making more time for it in the future.

The new parents welcomed a baby girl on Thursday, July 4.

Gemma wrote: “And just like that, we’re a three! Our beautiful baby daughter arrived on Thursday 4th July and myself and Gorks couldn’t be happier.”

The new mum couldn’t help but gush about their baby girl, “She’s incredible and she certainly made an entrance, giving us all quite a fright at times! Little Miss independent already!

“You’re all so wonderful and I’m so grateful to have had you all with me and to have been under your care these past four days,” said Gemma.

“Let the next life chapter begin, Gorka,” she added.

Strictly Come Dancing professional dancer Gorka couldn’t help but praise his partner after she gave birth to their daughter.

He took to Instagram to gush about his girls, “Gemma, my absolute HERO! After seeing you go through all you did to bring our little girl to life has made me love and respect you even more. What a trooper you are. I couldn't be more proud of you!”

We cannot wait to find out what name the doting parents will pick for their baby girl.

They are the sweetest couple who seem to be going from strength to strength.

And now the pair, who met on Strictly Come Dancing in 2017, has taken the next step in their blossoming relationship.

They are moving in together in Gemma's hometown of Manchester. 

They announced the news on Instagram Stories, with snaps captioned ''Moving day.''

They posted from their cars as they headed up to Manchester to start their new chapter.  

Gemma can be seen saying, ''We need to teach you some lingo. You need to say ‘alright kid’.”

Gemma and Gorka were rumoured to be romantically linked all through the series but said that they were just friends.

They confirmed their relationship when the show was over and now it looks like they are truly loved up – good luck to them in their first home together.

Gemma Atkinson shocked her fans today when she posted a picture of herself with what seems to be a pretty sizable baby bump… food baby that is!

The Emmerdale star captioned the photo, “So I ate too much bread and I have a wheat intolerance…. Food baby on board! I look like I’ve eaten a spacehopper.

Despite saying straight out that her swollenness is from eating too many carbs, it didn’t stop her Twitter followers from going into a frenzy thinking she was pregnant. Ms Atkinson had to take tweet again a picture of her stunningly flat stomach just to prove that she isn’t in fact pregnant.

Many of her other fans were joking by congratulating her on her food baby, while other gluten intolerant sufferers were sympathising with her pain.

Gemma recently opened up on ITV1 explaining how she has no excuse to not be in shape because her boyfriend, Olly Foster, is a personal trainer.

We have to say we are pretty damn jealous of Gemma… our food babies definitely don’t disappear in quite the same way!
