Some of us look back on our Gaeltacht memories with joy, and others look back and completely cringe.

It was the place you got shipped off to once a year to practically just hang out with your friends and maybe learn a bit of Irish.

Way back in 2002, Ger Roche recieved a postcard from her 13-year-old son about how his time in the Gaeltacht is going… and it's priceless.

Ger sent it into the The Ryan Tubridy Show part of Ryan's An Post letters competition.

As you can see, Ger's son wasn't one bit happy. And we have to say, his choice of sentences were really spectacular too:

"Hi Mother Dearest. This place is crap.

"The Ceilí are a load of rubbish… Danced with a girl who looked like Satan."

But the best line of all? "Your angry son who you [threw] away to a bog."
