Gigi Hadid has announced that she will not be participating in this year's Victorias Secret Fashion Show as was originally expected. 

The model has walked in the show for the past two years, and last year was accompanied down the runway by younger sister Bella. 

Bella Hadid is still scheduled to walk, and arrived in Shanghai this morning ahead of the show, which will be aired on November 28.

'I’m so bummed I won’t be able to make it to China this year,' Gigi wrote to her Twitter followers. 

'Love my VS family, and will be with all my girls in spirit.'

'Can't wait to tune in with everyone to see the beautiful show I know it will be, and already can't wait for next year.'

Neither Gigi nor Victorias Secret have given a reason for Gigi's absence from this year's show. 

However, some online detectives have speculated that iut might have something to do with a problematic Snapchat video featuring Gigi.

In the video, Gigi appears to mock Asian features by imitating a small Buddha mould at a restaurant earlier this year. 

When the model announced in August that she would be participating in this years show, a number of commenters said that she would not be welcome in Shanghai, China, where the show will be held, due to her past behaviour.

Commenting has since been turned off on the post.

Gigi Hadid has earned the respect of thousands of Twitter users after she expertly took down a far-right blogger for posting an islamophobic tweet.

On Tuesday, Laura Loomer posted a photo showing two Muslim women walking close to the scene where eight people were killed in a ISIS-inspred terror attack in New York City earlier this week.

In the caption, Laura accused the women of “rubbing [the attack] in everyone's faces” by “aimlessly walking around in hijabs.”

People were quick to condemn her comments, with many branding the ignorant post as “ridiculous” and “digusting.”

One notable figure to speak put against Laura's controversial tweet was US supermodel, Gigi Hadid.

Clearly furious with the statment, the 22-year-old wrote: “Laura, I hate to give you the attention, but I need to tell you- You're a f**king moron.”

Laura then hit back at the star, saying: “Every verified liberal in Hollywood & MSM is tweeting at me today. I guess I really pissed them off!. It's not like I killed 8 ppl…”

To which Gigi replied: “alas.. your RT only proves your classless desperation to spread hate for attention..”

Needless to say, her expertly executed response went down well with fans.

Bravo, Gigi. Bravo.

It may have just been Bella Hadid's birthday, but it's big sister Gigi who is stealing the limelight with her exciting new announcement. 

Taking to Twitter, the Victoria's Secret model has told the world that she will soon be revealing her new makeup collaboration with Maybelline.

Gigi X Maybelline is about to drop, and we're dying to see it.

According to the model's Insta declaration, the collection has been a year in the making, so we're hoping that that means it will be bursting with a variety of different products. 

'A year in the making.. #GIGIxMAYBELLINE COMING SOON,' she captioned the post. 

The snap shows her posing with a number of Maybelline products, including a large range of lipstick shades and a rich, warm-toned eyeshadow palette.

Maybelline have also been leaking sneak peeks at the collab over on their Instagram. 

From what we can glean from the quick videos, the collection will definitely be playing host to a signature Gigi red lippie, as well as a peachy blush and some nude lip colours. 

The collection is set to drop on October 21, and we're counting down the days.

Not content with dominating the world's of fashion and modelling, Gigi Hadid has announced that she is officially branching out with the launch of her own makeup collection.

The US super model took to Instagram to tease the new range of cosmetics, which were created in collaboration with Maybelline New York.

Assuming that the products in the photo are a taster of what's to come, it looks like the collection will include a number of lipstick shades ranging from subtle nudes to bold purples, as well as smokey eyeshadows, colourful eyeliners and compact makeup brushes.

Maybelline also shared a number teaser videos informing fans to 'get ready' for the upcoming release.

Gigi and Bella Hadid's dad, Mohamed Hadid, has been sentenced to community service after he built a mansion that was too big.

Yes, really.

Mohamed must also pay fines and create a plan to stop eroding the hillside in Bel-Air, after he was told that he could not build a "mammoth mansion" there.

Three years ago, the city of Los Angeles demanded that construction stopped, however, the real estate developer continued building the 30,000-square-foot home on a 1.2 acre plot.

Los Angeles Times reports that "construction continued illegally on the massive house, defying the city order."

The mansion was allegedly "bigger and taller than city rules allowed," and had "bedrooms, decks, and a [70-seat] IMAX theatre that the city said were never approved, according to court documents filed by prosecutors."

Mohamed appeared in court in Los Angeles yesterday and the judge sentenced him to three years probation and 200 hours of community service.

He was also ordered to pay more than $3,000 in fines and repay the city $14,000 to cover building department costs.

In addition, Mr Hadid must also create a plan to stabilise the hillside on which the house sits, because neighbours say it has "been dangerously destabilized."

One of Mohamed's neighbours said that he "should be in jail [because] he violated the city’s ordinances over and over again."

Despite protest however, the aptly named 'Starship Enterprise' will remain in place.

On Thursday, Vogue released its August cover, and immediately faced considerable backlash.

The issue, which featured Gigi Hadid and Zayn Malik, was condemned for purporting to understand the concept of gender-fluidity by using the couple's tendency to borrow each other's clothes as an example.

Unsurprisingly, members of the public wasted no time taking to social media to highlight the magazine's feeble grasp of the concept.

"Think Vogue is a bit confused on what gender fluidity is! Wearing your gf's T-shirt doesn't not make you gender fluid," wrote one.

"Yes hello police, Gigi Hadid wore pants last week and now Vogue is calling her a gender fluid icon," added another.

Responding to the backlash, a spokesperson for the iconic publication attempted to justify the magazine's intention during their fashion-oriented interview with the model and former One Direction star.

"The story was intended to highlight the impact the gender-fluid, non-binary communities have had on fashion and culture," they began in an explanation issued to Fashionista.

"We are very sorry the story did not correctly reflect the spirit — we missed the mark," they admitted. "We do look forward to continuing the conversation with greater sensitivity."

While we all love a good filter, sometimes the fashion industry can get a little crazy with its photo editing.

Big brands and fashion bibles alike can run afoul of the dreaded photoshop, and thanks to social media, these blemish-blending blunders are often pointed out for the world to see.

On US Vogue's March cover, the style tome got a little heavy handed with the slimming and lengthening tool and accidentally gave model-of-the-moment Gigi Hadid a freakishly long arm, wrist and fingers.

The alien appendage was quickly pointed out by hoards of fashion followers, who took to social media to highlight the mistake.

Gigi's arm, which should be on best pal Kendall's waist, actually manages to stretch all the way over to Ashley Graham's waist, who is standing behind Kendall.

Twitter users also pointed out that the model on the far right, Vittoria Ceretti's arm seems unnaturally cut off.

The publication has also gotten some heat for choosing Gigi and Kendall for the shoot, which intends to represent diversity.

Gigi and Kendall are the two most heavily featured models in the industry at the moment, so their addition did not go down well with everyone online.

Others also felt that while the cover does show women of different backgrounds, there was not enough diversity among the models chosen. 

"Vogue is 'democratising fashion' by not including a single woman darker than a paper bag in an 'inclusive' spread," tweeted one angry user.

Ashley Graham fans also felt that she was the "token" plus size model in the shoot, and that although she had been included, steps were taken to minimise her size.

Gigi's photoshopped arm stretching past Kendall to rest on Ashley's waist was called out by some who felt that it was an attempt to hide Ashley's stomach.

Other also pointed out that un like the other models in the image, Ashley's hand is resting on her leg, which some thought was an attempt to make her appear slimmer.

However Ashley herself called BS on this claim, commenting on one of her Instagram posts from the shoot to say: "I chose to pose like that. No one told me to do anything." 

While Vogue is clearly making steps to promote diversity in it's pages, perhaps it will take some of the feedback on board for the next diversity issue.

For many of us, Gigi Hadid is seen as the 'it girl' of our generation.

Between having her own Barbie, having Zayn, and now having a second collection with Tommy Hilfiger, she's climbed the ranks of stardom pretty well over the past few years.

She's smart, beautiful and sophisticated, which is why we probably prefer her collections over other celebrities'.

And we have to say, after seeing the TommyxGigi fashion show that took place in LA last night, she didn't disappoint us.

Bringing in a new wave of trends, we can see that stripes, abs, and tennis-chic are all going to be major this year.

The collection breaths California girl with a blend of the original Tommy Hilfiger… and it's totally class.

We'll be drooling over this collection for months to come… if only our bank accounts would allow us to buy it all.

Gigi Hadid is officially being immortalised in plastic by Barbie makers Mattel. 

The top model is joining the likes of Ashley Graham, Beyonce and Zendaya, who have all been honoured with their very own Barbie versions of themselves.

Cementing her status as a pop-culture icon, the model is being immortalised wearing her now signature Tommy Hilfiger threads. 

Gigi has just created a capsule collection, Tommy X Gigi, and Barbie is helping to promote the project with the exclusive new toy. 

In snaps shared on Instagram, the dolls are shown roller blading on Venice Beach and posing by the pier, which is where Gigi's Tommy show took place IRL.

"Can’t believe that’s me!!!!!!!” exclaimed the star, in an Instagram caption under a snap of the doll.

With it's wide eyes and arched brows, the doll's resemblance to Gigi is eerily uncanny. 

Fingers crossed that Mattel decides to produce the doll, because we can see this one being snapped up by collectors and Gigi fans alike.

Since they became an item back in 2015, Zayn Malik and Gigi Hadid have been giving us #CoupleGoals over and over again.

Whether it's on the red carpet, at a fashion show or in ~*da*~ club, they always look super cute and totally in love.

But this latest snap is possibly the most intimate of the yet.

Gigi shared the snap on Instagram of the pair cuddling up in bed together last night, and Zayn is tenderly kissing her forehead.

The Hadid sisters proved they're more than just pretty faces when they joined a protest against Trump's controversial Muslim ban.

The girls took to the streets in New York to denounce Trump's ban on residents of seven Muslim countries entering America.

The Hadid family have close ties with the Muslim community as their dad Mohamed Hadid is Muslim, as is Gigi's boyfriend Zayn Malik. 

A photo from the protest showed Gigi and Bella proudly holding a sign which read: "We are all Hindus, Buddhists, Muslims, Atheists, Christians, Jews."

The supermodel sisters joined a large crowd in Battery Park, shouting: "No hate, no fear, immigrants are welcome here."

And it seems like they aren't the only ones with strong feelings on the subject.

Fellow model Cara Delevinge echoed their sentiments as she posted the following photo from a protest to her Instagram account.

We're glad to see Gigi and Bella are using their influence to stand up for others and defying stereotypes about models while they're at it!
