With a second album coming out later this month, Shane Filan has officially carved out a name for himself as a solo artist.

But while the Westlife lads may not feature on the new record, another notable pop star most certainly does. Shane revealed today that his album Right Here includes a duet with none other than former Girls Aloud star Nadine Coyle.

He revealed the news via Instagram today, after first teasing the announcement last night.

"So pleased to tell you that the brilliant @nadinecoyle has joined me in the studio to record a duet called I Could Be for my new album," he wrote alongside a picture of the pair.

As for Nadine, she is a self-confessed Westlife fan who admits she "used to love listening to [Shane's songs] growing up."

Album number two is something of a gamble for Shane, who declared bankruptcy in 2012, with his €10m Sligo mansion selling for just €800,000 two years later.

Shane first came into money problems when his property company Shafin Developments went bust, leaving him and his brother Finbarr with a debt of €23m.

"I put all my eggs in one basket and invested in property," he told the Irish Independent back in 2013. 

As for a Westlife reunion, Shane says it's not on the cards at the moment, but all the same he won't rule it out. "We had a great time in Westlife… but we called it at the right time, we didn’t want to be in the band anymore, any of us, and that's why we split up," he told OK! today.

"There’s no point in me saying it’s never going to happen, because that would be lying."

We're already getting our hopes up for a Westlife/Girls Aloud joint tour…

Only a few months ago Sarah Harding had some very high hope for her future career as a soap star. The former Girls Aloud singer has appeared on Coronation Street as Joni Preston, somewhat of a trouble maker, apparently.

However, it seems that the 33-year old pop star has failed to make an impression on the soap’s loyal fan base. Many viewers have taken to Twitter to voice their rather scathing reviews of Sarah’s acting skills.

A source for The Sun has said that “it’s safe to say Sarah’s Corrie career hasn’t gone as planned. Fans and critics have been pretty unimpressed with her acting”.  The paper reports that she will not be making any further appearances on the show for the time being.

Her stint on the show is to be cut short as “it doesn’t reflect well on Corrie” according to the insider.

They went on to say that Coronation Street has been accused in the past of hiring famous faces for guest appearances in efforts to boost their ratings. Sarah’s appearance is “a failed experiment”.

Sarah herself came forward to say her experience on the soap was a “learning curve”, after fans slammed her performance.

However, a spokesperson for the show has pointed out that Sarah’s role was billed as a cameo appearance from the beginning.

“Sarah was cast for four episodes in a cameo role for a specific storyline. There are no immediate plans for the character of Joni to return.”

In the past Sarah did mention her nerves about joining the cast. She told ITV’s Lorraine “They are icons and they're pros as well and I came in thinking, 'Oh my goodness, I'm so going to fluff my lines, I'm such an amateur!”

The inevitable has happened. Cheryl Fernandez-Versini has put the final nail in the coffin that is her friendship with Nadine Coyle and officially unfollowed her on Twitter.

Ooh, that’s gotta hurt!

It’s been no secret that things have been tense between the girls since Cheryl said that her former bandmate was "full of sh**" – and it doesn’t sound as if they are going to patch things up anytime soon!

Rather bizarrely, it was only in recent days that Nadine said she would be open to a Girls Aloud reunion…Perhaps Cheryl was afraid of that dreaded invite in her Twitter messages box and decided to take drastic action.

Either way, it looks like this Girls Aloud friendship is OVER!

…but now Cheryl's upped her game as she fights for this (new) love.

The X Factor judge answered questions en français during a radio interview yesterday evening.

When asked if she was planning on performing on the talent show this year, Cheryl answered: “Oui oui, je suis," which translated to: “yes, yes, I am.”

It seems as if her new marriage to French man, Jean-Bernard has influenced her in many ways and it’s nice to see that she wants to learn his native language – who knows she might appear on French X Factor very soon!

Nadine Coyle has recalled the moment she heard about Girls Aloud bandmate, Cheryl’s wedding to Jean Bernard Fernandez Versini.

The former pop star, who is in the UK for performances in Lord of the Dance, spoke of her surprise at the news, saying: “I didn’t even know. I had a friend tell me and I thought it was to the boyfriend that I had met a while back and I was like, ‘Oh my God’ but then it’s this new guy.”

Hmm, is that a catty tone we detect Nadine?!

We know Cheryl's wedding was certainly a surprise given they had not been going out very long – but should a former bandmate really be pointing that out?!

Nadine continued on to tell Attitude magazine that Cheryl obviously is very happy: “If you meet somebody and think, ‘I’m going to get married’, you must be having a ball.”

Cheryl and Jean-Bernard were married on the 7 July last in the Caribbean after dating for three months. 

The mum-of-one also sent Cheryl a message of congratulations upon hearing about the marriage, urging The X Factor judge to join the "baby club."

Nadine has made no secret of the fact that she isn’t very close to the other girls anymore, even saying she doubted any of them would see her performances…

Hmm, we think she’ll be glad to get back to LA somehow!

There is sad news for one Girls Aloud singer today as it has been confirmed that Sarah Harding has split from her boyfriend Mark Foster.

According to a source, it seems it was all down to her time on Tumble – a BBC gymnastics competition. Talking to The Sun, they said: ''She has been training for long hours every day for each of her routines and that's left her emotionally and physically drained.

''As training has intensified for the show they have seen less and less of each other over the last few weeks. She has been training twice a day and they have not really had a chance to spend quality time together.''

Apparently, Mark doesn’t like the way Sarah has been “acting” and has found her to be very “tired and very emotional”.

Unfortunately, there was even more pressure added when Mark was unable to go to a number of her shows due to work – he is a music producer.

''The show has left Sarah very tired and emotional which Mark has found hard to deal with. When they have seen each other, Sarah has been tetchy and snappy and Mark has had enough.

''Mark hasn't been able to go and see a number of Sarah's performances due to his own work commitments and that has meant Sarah has felt isolated."

Oh dear, what with Cheryl being all loved up and Kimberly expecting her first baby, we hope she doesn't feel too bad.

Nadine Coyle says that while she is still in denial over the end of Girls Aloud as a band, she doesn’t really care about seeing any of her bandmates again.

Nice!

When asked if she misses Cheryl and co, she replied with a simple: “No.” And they won’t be coming to see her sing in Michael Flatley’s new Lord of The Dance show either. The star said: “I spend time with loads of people. I think it’s just because maybe you’re so busy that you just kind of get totally wrapped up in your own life.” Yeah, sure….

Cheryl has certainly busy, what with getting married on the sly and all, and Nadine says she’s really happy for her: “I sent her a wee message to say congratulations. I mean it was a whole whirlwind thing so she must have been just having a ball of a time. So hopefully she’s really happy.”

Nadine hasn’t got any plans to walk down the aisle any time soon herself though. She says it’s all about her sister at the moment, so she wouldn’t want to steal her thunder:

“Wedding bliss for me? My sister’s getting married so it’s not all about me. It’s all about my sister’s wedding.

“And we’re getting dresses and venues and caterers, so it’s all about my sister now and then I’ll think about getting married one of these days. Maybe.”

By the sounds of it, the singer is happy with her life as it is now that she’s a mother:

“I find [motherhood] great. I can’t believe I didn’t do it sooner. If it’s not about Anaiya, it’s not on my radar at the minute.”

It’s been revealed that Girls Aloud singer Nicola Roberts, has split with her long-term partner of six years, Charlie Fennell.

The pair have always kept their relationship private but were occasionally pictured on nights out together.

A source revealed today that the separation began at the end of last year.

“Nicola and Charlie split at the tail end of last year. They just kind of grew apart – they had a great run but they both felt their relationship had come to an end.”

The source went on to say that Nicola is enjoying being single and isn’t keen to settle down just yet.

"She’s been back out partying loads and is really enjoying making new friends and being out at showbiz parties. She’s definitely still single, and she’s not looking to settle down quite so much so soon. Especially now she’s back in the studio working on new material – she’s really focusing on her career right now. She’s really happy at the moment and they have both moved on with their lives.”

We wish them the best, it’s never easy to end a relationship.

Former Girls Aloud star Sarah Harding has got her eye on a glitzy Hollywood acting career.

Sarah, 32 is no stranger to the silver screen having starred in the school movie St. Trinians, but she now has dreams making it to Hollywood to star alongside the A-listers.

She said, “I’d love to do a massive feature film, an American production, something a little different.

“I’ve supported British, I’ve done BBC drama and St. Trinians, but I’d like to see what it’s like working on the other side of the pond for experience. I’d love to do a Tarantino film.”

Maybe Sarah is planning on using new pal Tom Cruise to get a head start in Hollywood. She recently bumped into the actor and posted a snap of the pair on Twitter.

On top of a big acting career, Sarah is hoping to launch a solo career.

She said, “There will be a minority, or a majority, probably, waiting for me to fail, you do feel like you’ve got a lot to prove [but] I always want to prove it to myself first.”

It seems that Sarah Harding won’t be joining fellow Girls Aloud’s singer, Cheryl Cole on the X Factor judging panel this year.

The singer shared her opinions on the rumours that she was joining the 2014 X Factor judging panel, after a fan tweeted a message saying how great it was that Sarah was going to work on the show.

To which Sarah replied to the fan: “Err… Do NOT believe everything u read people!!!”

The rumours started that Harding might be joining the panel after Sarah joked with a reporter that it would be fun to work with Cheryl.

“Can you imagine me versus Cheryl?! I think it would be good fun. Me and Cheryl always have great banter on stage and she loves grabbing my bum and giving me a snog. She is terrible.”

Simon and Cheryl have already been confirmed for the 2014 X Factor panel but we are still awaiting to hear who will take the other two judging spots.
