Actress Jessica Szohr  played the love-her-or-hate-her character of Vanessa on iconic TV series Gossip Girl. 

Jessica starred alongside Ed Westwick in the show, and the pair were involved in multiple storylines together. 

Their working relationship flourished into romance, and the pair dated for over a year.

In a recent interview with Cosmopolitan, the actress was asked for her thoughts on the rape allegations her former co-star is currently facing. 

'It's a difficult subject right now for anyone that's involved on either side,' the actress told the mag. 

'I don't even really know how to answer it, if I should, because I don't want anything to get twisted, because I have known Ed for years and know how lovely he is, and don't think he would ever put someone in a position like that.'

She told the mag that she struggles with wondering whether the entire truth is being told. 

'It’s difficult, because you don’t want someone you know to go through that or do that to someone, or knowing them well, knowing that you don’t think they would, and you don't want, for the girls that are coming forward, it’s like, are they stretching the truth?'

'I’m really trying to answer this as open and nicely as I can, because it is touchy, and I obviously for any of these situations, wasn’t there, for either side, so I can’t say it did or didn’t happen,' she continued.

'But I know him well and I’ve known him for years, and I found it shocking.'

Ed Westwick has denied the accusations made against him by three separate women. 

The situation is still undergoing investigation.

It really is hard to imagine what the Upper East Side might have been like without Blake Lively and Leighton Meester, right?

Well, it has been revealed that Jennifer Lawrence was actually desperate to play Serena Van Der Woodsen, in Gossip Girl.

In an interview with Vulture, to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the best show ever, Josh Schwartz (the GG creator) said:

“We did not realise this at the time, but Jennifer Lawrence really wanted to play Serena and auditioned. This story came to us secondhand, but we were told she definitely auditioned and was bummed to not get it.”

Now, we love J Law, but we cannot imagine her playing the whimsical rich girl with a penchant for bd behaviour.

Blake Lively, you are, and ALWAYS will be Serena.

Also, Jennifer would have only been 15 playing the role, which would have been a little bit too young, in our humble opinion. 

Needless to say, it worked out pretty good for Jen, as she sits at home polishing her Oscar…

Blake Lively, our eternal hair goals and all-round girl crush, has discussed the potential resurgence of the iconic hit series Gossip Girl.

It's been a full decade since the show fist aired (help, where is the time going?) and Blake is up for bringing Serena van der Woodsen back from the dead. 

Vanity Fair reassembled the cast to ask them if they would consider a reunion show, and Blake was happy to oblige.

'Of course. I'm open to anything that's good, that's interesting, and that sort of feels necessary. . . . I imagine we all would [consider it].'

'I can't speak for everyone else, but we all owe so much to this show, and I think that it would be silly not to acknowledge that.'

This isn't the first time the star has been happy to say she would do another series of GG.

The star previously told Variety this year:

'Would I do seven years of the show? No, because it’s hard work and I’ve got my babies, and I don’t want to be away from them that much.'

'But I’ve just learned in life you never say never.'

'Who knows,if it was good, if it made sense. We had so much fun shooting and living and working in New York City,' she told Variety.

Leighton Meester, who played the epic role of Upper East Side Queen Blair Waldorf, wasn't as gung-ho on the idea, but didn't rule it out either.

'It's hard to say. If everyone was into it and if the timing was right, you know? I don't want to say, 'No, never . .' 

Seriously, this reboot has to happen, there are things we need to know!

Like do Blair and Chuck live happily ever after? Will Serena go back to her partying ways? Does Chuck have any more evil uncles lurking in the woodwork? Did Little J become a hot shot designer?

And most important, is Nate Archibald still a complete and utter babe? (We're sure we already know the answer to that one)

Ed Westwick has destroyed all of our dreams of there being a Gossip Girl revival, and we'll admit, we're pretty bummed about it.

The show has been off air for the past four years, which we know isn't that long, but we feel as if we need some sort of comeback after they (SPOILER) made Dan Gossip Girl.

That can't be the end to the story, right?!

Anyway, Ed was speaking to Radio Times and said: "Nah, that's not gonna happen. I know there's a bunch of them coming back – I hear they're doing Will and Grace, they've done Gilmore Girls…

"But it's such a strange thing to think about. It feels like we only just finished! And I haven't done enough in between yet to feel like I could comfortably revisit it. And I did so much with that character – it's played out, man. It's done."

However, when asked if he'd sign up if Netflix paid him the right amount of money, he said: "I'll do it then."

So you know, all hope is not lost.

The Upper East Side show may be long over, but the iconic series lives on in our hearts.

So, imagine our excitement when Blake Lively, who starred as party girl Serena, hinted that she would be open to creating a new series of GG.

After the success of the Gilmore Girls revitalisation on Netflix, maybe Blair and Serena are the next characters to be brought back from the TV tomb.

Gossip Girl is still one of those shows that we hold dear to our hearts, and many fans of the show were also fans of Lonely Boy a.k.a. Penn Badgley.

But in his most recent appearance, the actor turned musician looks nothing like his GG days.

Instead of his usual brown curly locks, Penn rocked a new blonde do and beard while playing with his band Mothxr last night at Miami's Art Basel.

We totally love his new look, but then again, it seems like he can pull of any hairstyle.

After finishing up with GG, Penn has mainly concentrated on his band, however he recently told Huffington Post that he hasn't said goodbye to acting just yet.

We're looking forward to seeing him on our TV screens again.

We all remember Blair Waldorf's amazing maid Dorota right? 

Possibly one of the best characters in Gossip Girl, Dorota constantly made viewers laugh (and sometimes cry!)

Anyway, in real life, Zuzanna Szadkowski is a far cry from an Upper East Side maid…

These days the 37-year-old plays Nurse Pell on the series The Knick, and even had a small cameo role on The Good Wife.

In 2010, the polish native partnered with Sam Weisman to open an acting school, the Sam Weisman Studio, in New York. 

She has also experimented with a number of different hair colours (a la Kylie Jenner), including a beautiful shade of red!

Red, blonde or brunette… you look GOOD girl!

Let's be honest, unlike Gigi Hadid, Gossip Girl has been our guilty pleasure for years.

We watched week after week to see how GG would mess with the lives of Blair, Chuck, Dan, Nate and Serena, and since the series ended in 2012, we've been itching to see a reunion.

However, executive producer, Josh Schwartz spoke to E! and said that since social media has changed so much, they "haven't really explored some of those conversations."

Imagine if Snapchat was around in GG times?! GAH.

Josh also pointed out that "the world has become Gossip Girl now, and now literally everyone is Gossip Girl."

He has a fair point, though. The minute we see or hear about something, it's straight up on social media, and no matter what platform we use, the news will have travelled around the world in a couple of seconds, never mind minutes.

If GG was to have a reunion, there would need to be something very out-of-the-box to make it work.

Until then, we'll keep our spirits high and hope they can finally all come back together again.

Yesterday, the gorgeous London-based actor, Ed Westwick celebrated his 29th birthday, and we are so thankful for those years. 

Ed first stole our hearts playing the billionaire bad-boy Chuck Bass, in our favourite TV show EVER, Gossip Girl, and frankly we've been hooked on him ever since.

The Bass character was most famed for his on again / off again relationship with Blair Waldorf, played by Leighton Meester and the pair won numerous awards for their portrayal of the New York love birds, including Entertainment Weekly's Best Dressed TV Characters of 2008.

In celebration of this beautiful creature's birthday, we just want to stare in amazement at stunning pictures of him – simply to get the blood flowing this morning, you understand.

Like, can we talk about those CHEEK BONES for a second? 

 

Ed is a man of many talents,with a substantial modelling career (obviously) under his belt.

He has been trying his hand at a music career with his band The Filthy Youth – Think The Rolling Stones meets The Doors and The Kings of Leon are invited too. This man literally ticks all the boxes! 

Ed is set to feature in two movies this year, Take Down and Jekyll Island, and we personally cannot wait.

Since 2008, Kelly Rutherford has been fighting a brutal and very public custody battle with her ex-husband Daniel Giersch.

In a recent Vanity Fair feature, the former Gossip Girl actress, 46, spoke in detail about the legal battle during which her children ended up living in Monaco with their German father. 

"Daniel was subtly verbally abusive," she said of her ex-husband, 41.

"He was trying to alienate me from everyone in my life—my parents, my brother. I didn’t want any money from Daniel. I wanted us both to be great parents. I wasn’t asking for full custody."

She first filed for divorce in December 2008, when she was three months pregnant with Helena.

"Divorce is a total racket… Everyone's making tons of money off of stupid people who don’t settle out of court.

For my ex-husband,  with unlimited funds, who sued Google, this is just his sort of side fun project,” she explained.

Kelly however was forced to declare bankruptcy in May 2013 after seven years of lawyers' fees, which have been reported as costing close to €2 million.

"I sold everything — every stock, everything I owned," she says. "I went through my pension; I was living in my friend's maid’s room.”

She explained that while her family offered their support, they told her that she wouldn’t be able to continue paying the legal fees.

In August, she was ordered by a judge to send her children back to Monaco to be with their father. She briefly fought the decision due to confusion over jurisdiction, but was forced to send her children to Monaco.

"My children and I have lost years of dailiness. How do you get those years back?" Rutherford said in her Vanity Fair interview. "There is no way I am not going to fight to get my children back."

Former co-stars of the actress, including Ed Westwick also spoke to the magazine in support of Kelly:

She was amazing and caring to her children," he said, "She was how you would want your ideal mother to be. Most of the rest of us were teenagers and she was like our mother."

It's hard to remember a time before Blake Lively took on the role of Serena van der Woodsen in Gossip Girl; the role in which Blake shot to super stardom.

It’s a girl!

Congratulations are in order for Gossip Girl star Matthew Settle, 45, as he welcomed another little girl into his life earlier this week.

Taking to Instagram to introduce the cutie he captioned the image “Delfino bambino”, pretty apt considering the little girl is wearing a very cute dolphin printed swimsuit.

Matthew’s girlfriend Maria Alfonsin gave birth to the little girl who the couple have named Nalu.

Matthew also posted plenty of snaps of Maris flaunting her amazing post-baby body in a tiny blue two piece as the family enjoyed their holiday.

Matthew has another daughter, Aven Angelica who was born in 2009.

He and actress and model Naama Nativ eloped in 2006 and welcomed the little girl three years later. In 2011 the pair divorced but now Aven is a big sister to a very sweet little Nalu.

Since Gossip Girl ended in 2012, Matthew has remained close with his co-stars. In particular he has been very outspoken about Kelly Rutherford’s custody battle.

The bitter fight between she and her ex-husband is ongoing and just last week a federal hudge in the U.S denied her last-minute attempt to being her children back to America.

According to Us Weekly it was actually Kelly herself that broke the news that Matthew and Maria were expecting their first baby, as Matthew had never actually announced the news.
