Following countless rumours surrounding her absence from various social events, Kate Middleton reappeared after having undergone something of a style transformation.

On a rare public outing with Prince William in Scotland she was all smiles as she debuted her new hair style.

The happy couple were headed to Crathie Kirk for Sunday morning prayers, sans Princess Charlotte and Prince George when Kate's new hair was spotted. The duo, along with Prince Charles were making their way from Balmoral Castle with a convoy of other cars.

Kate and her flawless curly blow-dry are pretty much the first thing that comes to mind when we think 'British royal' at this point so her new 'do had us all curious indeed.

She has changed her style before, opting for some shorter layers and a lighter colour in the past, but this is certainly a change. However, it has essentially proven that Kate's hair is so fabulous that she probably never has a bad hair day. The Duchess doesn't seem to know the meaning of the word.

Even this throw back picture proves that unlike the rest of us, her hair history is filled with flowing locks and pretty curls as opposed to some other less stellar hair moments that come to mind.

The family were at the castle earlier this week to celebrate the Queen becoming the longest-serving monarch. The 'family dinner' was the first time Kate was seen making a public appearance for some time since Princess Charlotte's christening earlier in the summer.

According to Hello! magazine it was also reported that Kate was to receive the Royal Family Order of Queen Elizabeth II, the highest honour that can be bestowed upon a female member of the royal family. While she is rumoured to be receiving the honour, there is no formal announcement to for the Order so the public would have to wait and see if she will be wearing it at the state dinner for China's president next month.

Previous recipients of the honour include Prince William's mother, Diana and Prince Charles' wife, the Duchess of Cornwall.

She's sported everything from jet-black to 'bronde' tresses in recent months – even giving bright blue a go for a time.

And while Kylie Jenner recently admitted that, in fact, most of those changes were achieved with the help of wigs – she's back to her natural locks for now.

Still, her 'ashy dirty blonde,' hue has proved divisive – with many of her fans saying that the shade ages her significantly beyond her 18 years.

Not that the reality TV star herself seems to mind: taking to Instagram late last night she said she's realising "that blondes have more fun".

Lounging around in her €2.2m Calabasas abode, which she moved into shortly before her 18th birthday, she also offered a sneak-peak of her AMAZING walk-in wardrobe.

With Kylie dressed-down for "chill night," in a bright pink Superdry sports bra and black leggings, no fewer than seven rows of designer shoes can be seen in the background.

The snap has already notched up 1million likes from her 35million followers.

However, and although it seems that she very much loves her new hair (which she says has been inspired by elder sister Khloe Kardashian's look), Ms Jenner has nevertheless been uncharacteristically deleting pictures from her Instagram and SnapChat accounts.

One showed her donning oversized aviator sunglasses and carrying a medium-sized brown leather Birkin bag – but it mysteriously vanished from her profile shortly after being posted.

Last month, HollywoodLife.com reported that Kim Kardashian, who herself went for platinum blonde tresses earlier this year, felt Kylie's lighter look didn't work.

"Kim loves and supports her sister," the website stated, "but she doesn’t know if her blonde hair is working".

A source added that Kim felt "her blonde hair looked much more natural and professionally done.

"She wants to help Kylie get her blonde hair redone, so that she looks her best."

She certainly LOVES to experiment with different hair colours and styles – usually with the aid of a wig. Yes, Kylie Jenner has in recent months sported everything from bronde, to blonde to blue tresses.

Just at the weekend, in fact, she wore a jet-black fringed wig to the VMAs in Los Angeles.

Now, the 18-year-old reality TV star has revealed the reason behind her regular use of artificial locks: her hair was seriously damaged after years of dyeing, styling and straightening.

Finally, however, she has returned to her natural locks – opting for dramatic "ashy dirty blonde" for the autumn.

Taking to Instagram, a platform on which she boasts some 34.5million followers, she explained that it "took months of not dyeing my hair and wearing wigs to get my hair back to health so I can do this!!"

Admitting that the transformation took a full day, she added: "But this shits a process!" Ms Jenner concluded with: "I'm coming for u khloé!" – referring to her light-haired older sister and the inspiration behind her new look.

Marking her recent 18th birthday with a celebration in an LA nightclub, Kylie wore a long blonde wig for the occasion. She's also experimented with a 'bronde' version – and earlier this year had a mop of blue locks.

Here, SHEmazing! takes a look at some of Ms Jenner's recent styles…

It looks like Kylie Jenner may not be the only sister who is fond of changing her style these days.

While Kendall may not be so daring with her choice of hair colour, and we’re assuming that has a lot to do with her modelling career, things seem to have changed.

The 19-year old has been holidaying in St. Barts with her family and it looks like all that time in sunshine has really gotten to her, because her hair is now blonde.

She debuted her new look on Instagram with the caption “Ken-doll”, and we have to admit that we needed to do a double take. We also enjoyed how she saw the opportunity for pun use, and she took it.

Considering how her trademark look for some time now has been those dark shiny locks, this made for quite the change.

Quite an amazing change really, because she still looks fantastic.

Regardless of how bold it was for Kendall to go from dark brown to a more honey-blonde hue, she’s not exactly the first Kardashian-Jenner to try the blonde look.

Khloe, Kourtney, Kim and Kylie have all gone the blonde route at some point, although some of the transformations have been more shocking than others. The sisters are also fans of changing up their looks in less than permanent ways.

So we shall have to wait and see if this is indeed a total transformation for Kendall, or if she was wearing a wig after all.

No matter what colour you choose to dye your hair, you are going to spend a good chunk of money getting it right.

Whether you dye your hair a different colour every month or you've had the same hue for years, the challenge is always to make that 'just-done' look last.

However, you actually CAN make that vibrancy hold firm for longer with just a few easy tips and tricks of the trade.

Yes, changing your hair routine in a few simple ways can be seriously effective…

Prep your hair before colouring

This can be done one or two days before you go to get your colour in. Use a chelating or clarifying shampoo to remove styling product build-up. This will stop the colour from fading after you've dyed it and also put some moisture into your locks.

Avoid hot showers

Hot water dries out your hair and also decreases the life of your hair colour. The temperature will open up your cuticle which then releases the hair colour. Try to wash your hair with room-temperature water and then when you have rinsed, blast your hair with cold water to lock in all the moisture.

Swimming caution

Swimming in chlorine can dramatically reduce the time you get out of your hair colour. All you have to do is put in a hair protector with SPF, especially if you're on holidays in the sun. This will act as a barrier so the chlorine won't damage your tresses.

Don't overuse hot tools

Hot tools such as blow dryers and straighteners actually speed up the process of colour fading. Try not to use them every day and use a heat protector spray when you do.

Try a shower filter

These can be bought at plenty of hardware stores. Water coming from your shower head has lots of chemicals, chlorine and minerals in it that can strip your hair quicker. Using these handy filters will stop your colour from going down the drain.

She's lately been experimenting with a LOAD of different hairstyles and colours.

And frankly, we can't wait to see what Kylie Jenner wears this evening for her MASSIVE birthday bash, which is taking place in Beach Club in Montreal.

Of course, she's already been marking the moment in style since hitting her milestone 18 years a week ago – but tonight is very much expected to be the biggest and best event in the series of planned festivities.

The reality TV star, who lately has been experimenting with a load of diverse hairstyles, hinted that she's about to unveil yet another look for the occasion: namely a dramatic grey hue.

Last weekend for a celebration in an LA nightclub, Kylie wore a long blonde wig. She also experimented with a 'bronde' version – and earlier this year has furthermore had a mop of blue locks.

Earlier this week the entire internet had its collective mind blown when images resurfaced of some retro hair dryers.

Normally people would be rushing out to get their hands on some cool vintage items. However, nobody seemed to be overly enthusiastic about this particular retro piece. We can't say we blame them.

Let us just say that these don't leave an awful lot of room for any hair drying dance parties a lá this cute pug:

The hair dryers, used between 1928 and 1948 are actually pretty interesting looking. They definitely don’t look very comfortable though.

Mashable posted images of the vintage hair salon accessories and we have to admit, they remind us of something straight out of a horror film.

We think it’s probably safe to say that everyone is quite happy that these have become something of the past. In reality, it wasn’t until the 1970s that handheld dryers became the safest and easiest method used to dry our hair.

We took a trip down memory lane and came across some other old school hair dryers that we’re pretty glad we’re not being subjected to any longer.

That looks far from relaxing:

Is this a plant pot or no?

Are you getting bored with your hair? If you’re feeling a colour change, you should probably take some time to consider a few things.

We rounded up five of the most important things to consider before you take the plunge. It may not seem like such a big deal now, but in a few washes time when your supposedly blonde hair goes green, you’ll be having second thoughts.

How often do you want to colour your hair?

If you don’t want to end up getting your roots done every three weeks, you need to say so. If you tell your colourist how you feel about touch-ups, then can narrow down a colour situation you can realistically maintain.

Use a hair mask the day before.

This will prep your hair for the colour process to come and make sure it’s nice and hydrated to help your strands survive the colouring treatment.

You need to use some sun protection.

After you dye your hair be prepared to protect it from UV rays in order to avoid brassy and dull colour from taking over.

You also need to protect coloured hair from chlorine.

Your fresh platinum do may take on a green hue before you know it. So wet your hair, or apply conditioner all over, before getting in the pool to keep the cuticles filled in to avoid the chlorine being soaked up.

Not sure what you want? Make sure you know what you don’t want.

If you haven’t fully decided on your chosen colour, then at least be able to tell your hairdresser what it is you definitely don’t want. This can help them narrow down your options. Just remember if you tell them to do whatever they prefer you could end up being none too happy. So have some idea before you go through with it.

We've seen her pull off brown, black and even blue locks – but for the first time, Kylie Jenner has opted for a seriously lighter look.

And we love it!

The reality TV star, who turns 18 next week, took to Snapchat to unveil her new tresses – delighting fans in the process.

The teenager showed off her plumped her lips – which she admitted earlier this year to having had enhanced through temporary fillers – and stuck her tongue out the side of her mouth.

Bronde – a mixture of brunette and blonde hair – has also recently been seen on the likes of Blake Lively, Chrissy Teigen, and Ashley Tisdale.

Earlier this week, it was revealed that Kylie has the world's most viewed Snapchat account. She also has 30.2million followers on Instagram.

However, it should be noted that Ms Jenner has tricked us before: she once donned a bright blonde wig.

Either way, we reckon she looks very like a young Angelina Jolie!

editorial_headerBlake Lively, Beyonce and Kim Kardashian: just a few of the names that come to mind when we think of thick, voluptuous, va va voom hair.

However, for those with thin, limp, lifeless locks, falling curls can be an everyday struggle. Still, and while transforming fine hair into a luxurious work of art isn’t always easy, it CAN be done.

We have outlined the simple steps in our Get The Look: Volume video to help you achieve fabulous, long-lasting volume.

  1. Wash hair with TRESemmé 24 Hour Body Shampoo & Conditioner. This will help maintain all day volume and bounce, making the hair manageable without weighing it down.
  2. Next, apply TRESemmé Volume & Lift Mousse to the roots of the damp hair, to provide superior natural looking volume. Use a comb to make sure the mousse has been spread out evenly throughout the roots.
  3. Blow dry to 70 percent dry and section the hair off into 2-3cm wide sections.
  4. Blow dry with a large roller brush and put rollers in immediately after, while the hair is still hot.
  5. Next, spray the hair with TRESemmé Ultimate Hold Hair Spray. Allow the hair to cool around the rollers and set.
  6. Take out rollers, starting with the first roller put in and lightly tease the hair at the root. This will add extra volume and help the style to hold for longer.
  7. Finally, gently comb the hair through to the ends.

And there you go, say hello to big hair! Limp locks will now be a thing of the past and you’ll never have to worry about your tresses looking dull and lifeless again.

editorial_headerDying to give that celebrity bob a try – but not ready to get the chop just yet? Most people with longer locks feel that the only way to get short hair is to cut it. Not so!

The faux bob mimics the style of an actual bob, without having to resort to a drastic chop. It’s no surprise then that numerous celebrities are working this look on the red carpet: it’s classic; it’s chic – and it’s great for anyone who is considering going shorter, but would rather give it a trial-run first.

This look is particularly simple and easy to create with the help of the TRESemmé Keratin Smooth range and a few bobby pins/hair grips.

  1. Wash hair the night before using Keratin Smooth Shampoo & Conditioner to help transform hair, leaving it smooth and more manageable for up to 48 hours.
  2. Split the hair into sections and lightly curl with a straightener. Don’t worry if the sections aren’t exactly even.
  3. Next, back comb these sections to create a base for the clips to grip to. Once you are finished back combing, brush the hair through until smooth.
  4. Separate a small bit of hair at the front of the head, and apply TRESemmé Volume & Lift Mousse to the ends of the remainder of the hair. This will give the hair texture and help the style hold for longer.
  5. Place two bobby pins in a criss-cross at the bottom of the hair, roll the hair up to the nape of the neck and pin in place using extra pins. Using the hair that you left to the front of the head, twist it lightly and tuck under at the nape of the neck with the rest of the hair. If you have layers, create the Lea Michele style faux bob by leaving some curls to hang by the front of your face.
  6. Pin bobby pins throughout the hair to create texture and to secure the style.
  7. Finally, finish the style with TRESemmé Ultimate Hold Hair Spray, for 24 hour protection against frizz and flyaways.

And there you have it! You’ve mastered the SHEmazing! faux bob; the perfect style for genuine looking short hair without committing to chopping it all off.
