Harry Styles

Some people in life want nothing to change – ever.

So when One Direction's heart throb Harry Styles stepped out on stage with straight hair, clearly, the world went mental.

The Twitter world that is.

We all remember Harry as the adorable, curly-haired kid when he first auditioned for The X Factor

And even as his hair has grown over the years, it has still remained in one wavy format or another.

But when he played a show in Detroit, Michigan recently, Harry decided to let his hair run free. Very free that is, and very straight.

Twitter erupted with questions on whether he used a straightener? Is it just wet and droopy? Or has Harry been curling his hair THE WHOLE TIME?!

No one knows.

Some fans became pretty obsessed about it though and tweeted to their hearts content.

Some fans however, were not so keen.

Poor Niall Horan.

The boy band star admitted that he is 'the worst popstar that ever walked the planet', all because he doesn't like to do daring things.

Speaking to Top of the Pops magazine, the Mullingar native said, ''I'm not very daring, I'm all about a gentle game of golf. I'm actually quite boring and probably the worst pop star that ever walked the planet.''

Niall, who will be going on an extended hiatus with the rest of the boyband next year revealed that he really won't be getting up to anything wild while the band are on a break.

Harry Styles also said in the magazine that he is equally as boring.

''I'm really not adventurous. Sitting down with a cup of tea is what gets my heart pounding.''

That's real rockstar behaviour lads!

In contrast, Liam and Louis are the daredevils of One Direction when they admitted they like to try new and exciting things.

Liam said, ''I like to think I'm a bit of a daredevil at heart – Louis and I jumped off a tower in Las Vegas, it was really scary.''

Whatever floats your boat!

Harry Styles has had a bad run of it lately in terms of on-stage injuries, but this latest one most definitely wasn't his fault.

The One Direction singer was hit in the face with a can while performing in Philadelphia, and his mum Anna Twist has had to speak out to stop a tirade of abuse from fans who want revenge.

1D fangirl Hanna Cooke flung the half-full drink can in Harry's direction while watching him perform, and since word got out that she was the culprit, she has faced a never-ending stream of cruel tweets and death threats.

Harry for hit in the head with a red bull can… What are peoples problems???? #OTRAPhilly

A video posted by ashley nicole (@ashley.1d) on

Anna, known to fans as 'Mama Twist,' even posted her own angry tweet, before backtracking hours later.

"So dangerous… THINK!" she wrote, before adding, "No harm done … This time … Unless you're on a sports field is it acceptable to throw things at people?! I think not."

Clearly seeing the error of her ways last night, Anna took to Twitter again to try and put a stop to the tirade of abuse being directed at Hanna from fans.

"OK peeps!! Please do not turn to bullying @HannaCooke17 … that serves no purpose. Please just learn from the incident & be kind," she pleaded.

Hanna has since taken to Twitter herself to try and set the record straight, saying she only threw the can in the hopes Harry would look over and spot her. As you do.

"I guess me and my friend wanted to get recognised and the only thing I could think of was the Red Bull my friend held," she wrote. "I threw it on stage hoping it would hit the catwalk…I thought it was empty."

First he snots himself on stage, then he has a can thrown at him… we can understand why Harry might be looking forward to that "hiatus" next year…

The One Direction boys are taking the U.S by storm on their latest tour and when they arrived on stage in Philadelphia they could think of only one way to mark the occasion.

The lads decided to perform their very own rendition of the Fresh Prince of Bel Air theme song.

The crowd were very impressed with the performance, but one of the members was not so happy.

Niall joked with the crowd: “We didn’t think that through. We needed to rehearse it!”

After taking the lead on the 90s classic it would seem that poor Niall felt he could have given much more to their attempt at Will Smith’s somewhat iconic tune.

Apparently Harry was in agreement with him as he threw his microphone down before strutting off stage. He told the fans “it wasn’t clean,” while pretending to throw a strop.

While Harry seemed to be happy to joke about their failed cover, a separate incident on stage left him less than joyful.

His bad luck seems to be never ending as when he’s not falling down, he’s having bottles thrown at him.

A video surfaced on twitter which showed the star tanking fans for coming to their show. Just as he was walking through the middle of the crowd, someone threw something at the stage.

More fans were less than impressed with the behaviour, but this is not the first time Harry has gotten a few knocks on stage.

Earlier this year, making their first appearance without Zayn Malik, he was hit by a glowstick when one fan sent it flying into the air. An excitable bunch those Directioners…

Niall Horan sure knows how to clear up rumours!

Hours after it was announced that One Direction will be taking an extended hiatus to focus on individual projects, Niall took to Twitter yesterday to clarify some inaccurate news that has been floating around the internet.

In his Twitter message he wrote, "Ok so lots of rumours going around. We are not splitting up, but we will be taking a well earned break at some point next year".

"Don't worry though, we still have lots we want to achieve!".

In another tweet he continued to say, "Can't wait for you to hear all the new music we have for you and to perform some new songs as the tour continues! Love you all xx".

Shortly after Niall's tweets, band-mate Louis Tomlinson spoke out about the speculation.

"Your support is truly indescribable! It's just a break… we're not going anywhere!! Promise".

The groups "well earned break" won't begin until March 2016.

A source assured E! News over the weekend that their are no problems with the group and instead are simply exploring new opportunities that are coming from their already-successful careers.

"They are great friends and fully support one another".

"They are aware that they are able to work on their own stuff as well as remain together. This is an exciting time for them creatively and as a group".

The source added, "They envision a future together but with the freedom to do other things as well".

Rumour has swirled ever since Zayn Malik unexpectedly departed the band in the spring.

This evening, and despite notching up a huge hit in Drag Me Down – their first release as a foursome – it seems that One Direction will indeed go their separate ways in March of next year.

The decision was seemingly made during crunch talks in London last weekend.

However, The Sun, which is claiming an exclusive on the story, also says fans should not lose all hope: the guys intend on making more music together some time again in the future – albeit after they've pursued solo material and projects over the course of at least a year.

A source close to the boyband told the newspaper: "The guys have been together for five years, which is an incredible run for any boyband.

"They fully deserve to have at least a year to work on their own projects. There is absolutely no bad blood between them and they are all 100 percent behind the decision."

The source added: "They fully intend to get back together at some time in the future."

Liam, Niall, Harry and Louis have several high-profile gigs lined up for the rest of the year – performances which they will honour. The band will furthermore regroup after Christmas to polish off their various contractual commitments.

The Sun also says that the 1D time-out has nothing to do with Mr Malik's departure.

"This was the plan with or without Zayn," the insider revealed. "In fact, the band have been making amazing music and been incredibly happy without Zayn.

"Of course they would have preferred that he had stayed in the band, but they would have taken this extended hiatus even if he hadn’t left."

The band was formed on the UK version of The X Factor in 2010. Their debut studio album Up All Night was released in November 2011 and topped the charts in 16 countries.

Their forthcoming fifth album – from which Drag Me Down is taken – will be unveiled later this year, and it had been expected that One Direction would embark on an arena tour in 2016 to promote the release.

As part of their current On The Road Again tour, they play three live dates in Dublin in mid-October, before moving to Belfast on October 20.

It seems Harry Styles may have had a bit of a wardrobe malfunction last night, with his cowboy boots believed to be the reason for his latest onstage fall.

It's only two months since a mic stand caused him to fall over on stage mid concert, and we were just about over that when we heard poor Harry had taken yet another tumble.

The singer was performing alongside bandmates Liam, Louis and Niall when he began strutting around the stage and tripped. Luckily for us, fans caught the whole thing on camera.

As with the last time he lost his footing, the hashtag #OhNoHarry began trending on Twitter, with fans tweeting the 21-year-old telling him how sorry they felt for him.

Somehow he managed to fall a bit more gracefully this time, unlike the previous fall which saw him stumble for a few seconds as he tried desperately hard to stop himself from landing on the floor.

There has been some positive news for Harry today though, as One Direction's video for their latest single Drag Me Down has gained over 2 million views on YouTube in just 10 hours.

This is the bands first video since Zayn famously left the band in March of this year. The music video shows the four lads training as astronauts as they prepare for a NASA voyage into outer space and they seem to be doing just fine even thought they are a man down!

After kicking off the American leg of their tour, One Direction were performing in San Diego when poor Harry Styles took a tumble on stage.

This fall was after Harry asked his fans if they like dolphins, then continued by saying "don't go to SeaWorld".

Following this statement, Harry has received an open letter from the SeaWorld directors after a video of him saying this was shared all over the Internet thousands of times.

PETA praised Harry by writing a lengthily blog post congratulating him on his activism and they said they would be sending him some gifts for spreading the message.

However SeaWorld workers were not happy and they have retaliated with their own response and even extended an invite to Harry to come visit the attraction.

In an effort to restore their public image, SeaWorld a giving the singer the chance to speak to the trainers and vets about his concerns.

"We care for the animals in our parks like we would our own family." They wrote.

"We are committed to making sure their lives are enriching and they are continually engaged socially, mentally and physically. And, we also care for dolphins in the wild."

One Direction kicked off the North American leg of their world tour last night in San Diego.

This was their first show in the U.S since Zayn Malik left the band.  Everything was going just fine, the Directioners were in top form and the guys had an amazing concert. Except for one small little slip up.

Fan favourite Harry Styles took a bit of a tumble onstage. Naturally, his bandmates couldn’t contain their laughter. They almost had to stop singing and gather themselves. We don’t blame them, watching people fall is comedy gold.

Watching people fall in a dramatic and cartoonish fashion in front of a massive crowd of screaming fans is even better. Come on, look at him. It’s impossible not to laugh.

The good people of twitter reacted much like we had hoped. Within hours #ohnoharry was trending worldwide and there have been countless memes and gifs made of the unfortunate moment.

Harry was able to laugh off the little snafu but his fans, dedicated and passionate though they are, were also very quick to make the most of his embarrassing moment.

They did a really good job.

OK, so it's safe to say that Niall Horan is a guy who's has some pretty impressive contacts.

If he's not hanging out with Katy Perry, he's being linked to Ariana Grande.

Then there are his social media snaps with the likes of Rolling Stone Ronnie Wood (standard), Chris Brown (yup), Emma Roberts (natch), Kendall Jenner (basic), Ed Sheeran (but of course) and Demi Lovato (no surprise there).

Still, it seems there is no end to Mr Horan's impressive list of celebrity mates.

Indeed, early this morning he took to Instagram to share a snap of him and… former Liverpool star Steven Gerrard.

And it's not like the duo merely bumped into each other. Nope; the One Directioner is in Los Angeles and made sure to swing by Steven's sweet new €25m gaff (yeah, we'd make sure to visit too if we could).

Great to see @stevengerrard , Alex and the girls today! What a great guy he is ..

Making his debut on July 18, Mr Gerrard, 35, only recently made the move Stateside having singed a lucrative contract with LA Galaxy.

He is joined in LA by his wife, Alex, and their three daughters: Lilly-Ella, 11, Lexie, nine, and Lourdes, four.

The couple's new 90210 abode – which is being paid for by his club – reportedly has six bedrooms and eight bathrooms as well as breathtaking views of the city.

Meanwhile, One Direction play a San Diego stadium this evening as part of their On The Road Again tour. They then move on to San Francisco and Seattle, before going to Canada.

Mullingar-man Niall isn't the only band-member with unexpected buddies, though. Indeed, Harry Styles and none-other than Stephen Belafonte (aka Mel B's husband) were also hanging out in LA last night.

Mr Belafonte even posted a video of the pair, saying that they were "back in action baby," – although Harry points out in the same clip that they are also "in a toilet".

@officialmelb me and @harrystyles are back in action!! #lookout

He said what?

We don’t think the Zayn Malik fans are going to be impressed with this.

According to Harry Styles, One Direction have been having some of their best gigs recently, since Zayn left.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly that appeared online Friday, Harry said the some of the shows the band have played in Europe recently have been “the best we’ve had!”

While those curious to know how much of a toll the fifth members absence has had were informed that, according to Harry, all they had to do was pick up the parts Zayn normally sang.

“Other than that, the shows have been going absolutely great,” Harry informed us all.

We reckon the thousands of people tweeting their heartache at the 100-day mark of Zayn’s absence may not be so happy to hear Harry’s latest statements

Harry reckons that Liam has got Zayn’s signature high notes in Story of My Life nailed to perfection at this point, as the lads get ready for the North American leg of their tour.

“Liam stepped up to do the high notes. He kicks them in the bollocks every show. He doesn’t hold back,” which is a good thing because Harry think the fans would be even more devastated if the song was left out of their set list altogether.

The band will play a concert in San Diego next week and Harry, and the rest of the band just can’t wait to see their American fans come out in force.

“The fans have shown, as they have a million times, that they’re incredible and so supportive,” according to Harry.

We just hope that none of Zayn’s fans will be take his comments too seriously.

The real reason he chose Caroline Flack and Olly Murs as the new hosts for the X Factor has been revealed by Simon Cowell himself.

Simon explained that he thinks the pair “have great chemistry” and are ridiculously attracted to each other. According to Simon, this makes for excellent TV viewing.

But wait, doesn’t Olly have a girlfriend?

Yes, and we don’t think Olly’s girlfriend Francesca Thomas since will be too pleased with Simon’s latest comments.

That’s possibly why Simon was very quick to stress that he was just “kidding”, after he made the comment. Nice save, Simon.

The 55-year old music mogul went on to say that he thought Olly was a particularly good person for the gig because he is a former contestant of the show.

“He's perfect to be in that position," according to Simon, who also said that Caroline and Olly were the best choice because of their love for the show and “they have amazing energy.”

Caroline has admitted previously that she did once consider a romance with Olly. She told the Daily Telegraph that at one point she did think “Do I? Could I?' There's always been a barrier where we just couldn't ever cross that line and we never have.”

She also described him as the most confident person she’s ever met, “but it never border on arrogance.”

So, Caroline doesn’t seem to be interested in crossing that line with Olly any time soon, but let us remember that she did find love on the X Factor once upon a time.

Caroline dated then 17-year old One Direction star Harry Styles back in 2011, which she has admitted was a bit “strange”.
