The New York Times last week published a list of allegations of sexual harassment and rape against American film producer Harvey Weinstein.

The list included allegations from actress Ashley Judd, as well as a number of other women, including former employees of the producer.

Now, A-listers Angelina Jolie and Gwyneth Paltrow have joined the victims speaking out against him.

Angelina had a similar experience to many of the women, finding herself alone with Weinstein.

'I had a bad experience with Harvey Weinstein in my youth, and as a result, chose never to work with him again and warn others when they did,' Angeline Jolie told the New York Times.

'This behaviour towards women in any field, any country is unacceptable.'

Gwyneth Paltrow also told the NY Times that she had an encounter with the producer after he signed her up to play her breakout role, Emma Woodhouse in Emma.

'I was a kid, I was signed up, I was petrified,' she said, recalling how she had previously considered the film big wig to be her mentor.

'I thought he was going to fire me.'

Harvey Weinstein’s wife, Marchesa designer Georgina Chapman, yesterday told People Magazine that she was leaving him.

'My heart breaks for all the women who have suffered tremendous pain because of these unforgivable actions,' she said.

'I have chosen to leave my husband. '

Footage of the producer has also emerged in which he admits to groping a model.

For some of us, it was tempting to simply shake our heads in disbelief, and move on.

For more of us, it was preferable to console ourselves with the notion that her words were taken out of context, before desperately quelling any emerging fears that they weren’t.

But we can’t.

To ignore Donna Karan’s recent remarks on the supposed culpability of women who find themselves the victim of sexual harassment or sexual assault makes us complicit.

Speaking at the CinéFashion Film Awards on Sunday, the 69-year-old fashion designer defended Harvey Weinstein against recent allegations of sexual harassment.

“To see it here in our own country is very difficult, but I also think how do we display ourselves? How do we present ourselves as women?” she asked.

“What are we asking? Are we asking for it by presenting all the sensuality and all the sexuality?”

The answer to that, Donna, is no.

Quick word in your ear; if we accept – on any level – that a woman’s choice of clothing determines whether she will fall victim to the actions of a rapist, we – quite simply – absolve the rapist of his responsibility.

But with Donna Karan’s remarks coming only weeks after George Hook’s, it can feel like we’re fighting a losing battle –  a battle where victims are forced to question how they could have changed the outcome of another person’s intentions.

Yes, it is massively frustrating and hugely disheartening to find ourselves constantly challenging the victim-blaming narrative, but we have to.

For every child whose cartoon-emblazoned pyjamas didn’t stop the actions of a rapist.

For every teen whose school jumper and tracksuit bottoms didn’t deter that violent stranger.

For every young woman whose favourite Saturday night dress was not an invitation.

For every middle-aged woman whose tired work uniform didn’t prevent her rape.

And for every octogenarian whose dressing gown didn’t dissuade that intruder.

So, in case you didn’t hear it the first 27,000 times, women are not responsible for the actions of men.

And for those out there, who suggest we simply dismiss Donna Karan’s remarks as the utterings of a deluded 69-year-old woman, with little cognisance of the effect her words can have, unfortunately it’s not an option.

We have to see them for how dangerous they really are, and we have to accept that when these hideously offensive remarks are made by a woman, the fall-out can be even more catastrophic.

So once again, lest we forget, for every one victim-blaming sentiment, one rapist is being given a ‘free pass’.

Donna, clothes don't make a rapist.

And how we 'present ourselves as women' is inconsequential while how we celebrate 'sensuality and sexuality' is beside the point.

If a man makes the decision to harass, assault or rape a woman, the clothes on her back is the last thing on their mind.

And it should be the last on yours.

Just as her family are leaving the White House, the New York Post has revealed where Malia Obama is heading to next.

While her family are jetting off to Palm Springs for a post-White House holiday, Malia is setting her sights for New York where she bagged an internship with Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein.

The 18-year-old is set to start work at the beginning of next month in the NYC office of The Weinstein Co.

At this stage, it is unclear what department Malia will be working in, but it is thought she will dip her feet into marketing or development for the company.

This isn't the first time the young adult interned in NYC though. She previously worked on the set of Girls in July 2015 and was also a production assistant on Halle Berry's show Extant in 2014.

Keep doing what you're doing, girl.

Over the last few months there have been a slew of rumours that One Directioner Zayn Malik is ready to pack his bags and say goodbye to the band, but now it seems Harry Styles could be considering a change of career, too!

Film producer Harvey Weinstein says he has offered Harry a film role in the past and he wouldn't hesitate to offer him another role in the future. The famous movie mogul told The Sun that Harry "doesn’t even have to audition for me."

Harvey said he thinks there's "no question" that the 1D singer will enter the world of movies. "I get from him that he wants to," said Harvey.

"He came to our Oscars party last year and then I went out to lunch with him. I’ve met him two or three times and he was very interested and charming. I think the guy is a movie star.”

It turns out Harry's cheeky good looks could translate well to the silver screen – Harvey describes him as a "a dashing rogue – a fun-loving, spirited kind of actor that used to be in England all the time."

However we wouldn't worry about the singer ditching 1D just yet, as he turned down a debut film role in Harvey's flick Tulip Fever due to musical commitments. "We offered him a part and he couldn’t do the movie because he had the tour," said the producer.

Phew!
