You may have heard a thing or two about Jason Momoa, the Aquaman star who got his big break after playing the terrifying Khal Drogo in Game of Thrones.

He's infamous for the role, in which he portrays the chieftain of the Dothraki tribe and the husband of the Mother of Dragons, played by Emilia Clarke.

However, the language barrier meant that Momoa had very few lines, and most of his actions were pretty violent, so he wasn't exactly likeable.

I mean, the guy is SCARY.

Momoa visited the Graham Norton show this week to promote his character in the DC universe, Aquaman, and his struggle following his turn in Game of Thrones.

His character was killed off in 2011, and the actor admits that his career took a slight dive after his role ended; "I didn't get much work after that," Momoa says.

Describing the reaction of those who meet him in person, he said;

"I mean, what do you do with that – his character doesn't speak English, he's not funny and he just hurts people. I played that character well so it was a bit challenging afterwards. People would literally say, 'Wow, you speak English!'"

Momoa reprised his starring role in Game of Thrones for a GAS Saturday Night Live sketch, though his time on the fantasy show is over.

The actor told Digital Spy a while back that he's not featured in any scenes for the final season of the HBO phenomenon, saying: "Yeah… he's not coming back. Nine years now, let him go."

Watch the full interview with Jason Momoa on The Graham Norton show tomorrow, Aquaman is out now in the UK.

Let the countdown begin, megafans.

Game of Thrones will OFFICIALLY air its eight and final season in April 2019. The HBO phenomenon aired its seventh season in August 2017, so there will have been an almost two-year gap.

For the feverous fanbase, that's 20 months too long…

Season eight will also run for six episodes, which is one episode fewer season seven, but never fear because each episode will run for as long as ninety minutes.

Imagine the tension… we can barely handle 60 minutes of such high-paced tension and pure visual spectacle. 90 minutes could have us fainting multiple times from sheer SHOOKETH-ness.

By premiering the April date, this allows Game of Thrones to remain eligible for the 2019 Emmys. The last season swept up nine awards, including Outstanding Drama Series, a major deal in the realm of television.

The HBO announcement came in the form of a new video broadcasting the launch of a final season campaign entitled  #ForTheThrone.

The video is as powerful as you might imagine considering the show is famed for its gruesome battles, dramatic deaths and revenge in every form.

(*SPOILERS INCOMING*)

game of thrones spoilers GIF

Some of the most violent highlights from across the seven seasons are included in the clip, including the infamous Red Wedding (we STILL AREN'T OVER THIS) and the King's Landing wildfire attack.

The end of the seventh season left Westeros on the brink of its deadliest war yet, in case you have miraculously forgotten. The finale was one of the most watched TV episodes in history, and we can still hear the gasps.

Fan favourites such as Jon Snow (Kit Harington), Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke), Tyrion Lannister (Peter Dinklage) and other prominent characters within the fantasy canon must learn to throw aside their differences in order to fight a common enemy: the Army of the Dead, led by the vicious Night King.

The Army of the Dead have already begun marching after destroying the wall and taking control of a dragon, turning it to ice. WE WERE WAILING.

So you know, casual saving the world from massive bloodshed and death kinda vibe. The usual.

Save the date, people. It's gonna be emotional.

Lena Dunham has never been one to hold back with her opinions, and mostly she's totally on the ball.

Today though, there's been some unexpected drama, which started this morning when she called out a Spanish-language magazine for Photoshopping an image of her for their cover.

So far, so unsurprising. Plenty of magazines using editing tools, and Lena wouldn't be the first celebrity to hit back about it.

"[T]his is NOT what my body has ever looked like or will ever look like – the magazine has done more than the average photoshop," she wrote in a comment directed at TENTACIONES magazine, who feature her on their March cover.

However within hours, staff at the magazine responded – and explained they hadn't used ANY editing tools on the image.

In fact, all they had done was crop the edges so it would fit their cover, a simple task that can be done using any PC.

"For the front cover of the magazine we used an image from the shoot you did in 2013 with the photographer Ruven Afanador, and which was published at the time by Entertainment Weekly," the open letter reads.

"Here at TENTACIONES, we acquired the photo via the Corbis agency, and we used the original that they sent us without applying any kind of retouching.

"Those who are familiar with and follow our magazine will know that we do not use Photoshop nor other digital tools to change the physical appearance of our cover stars, nor in the features to be found inside.

"On this occasion, the only thing we did was to crop the image to adapt it to the format of our front page."

They also linked to an original copy of the image, shared on Facebook by photographer Ruven Afanador back in 2013. Awks.

And they were sure to finish things off just a little cheekily, saying, "We are delighted to see that you still have your rebellious spirit. Let us have your address and we’ll send you our magazine as a courtesy every month, so that you can see for yourself that we like to reflect things the way that they really are."

Now to wait and see what Lena has to say…

Game of Thrones is quite possibly the cruellest show on TV and the popular fantasy series is certainly living up to this title by tormenting us with a teaser poster for season six.

And yes, you 've guessed it! The poster features none other than our beloved Jon Snow, played by the lovely Kit Harrington, who was murdered in the final moments of season five.

Though he looks a bit worse for wear, he certainly looks alive!

We can only hope.

The season finale was definitely a tough one to swallow with a mere SIX character deaths, but it's safe to say that Jon’s was the most devastating.

And just when we were unsure how we could possibly go on without the brooding stares of the deliciously curly-haired Snow, HBO had to go and get us all emotional again.

We now have to wait until APRIL for the series to return but when this torturous poster was dropped, Twitter understandably lost its mind.

We know that Kit has renewed his contract for both season six AND seven of the series but we also know that we are talking about Game of Thrones, a show that literally thrives on torturing its fans.

So in true Jon Snow fashion, we literally know nothing.

Game of Thrones fans you can rest a little bit easier with this news.

Contrary to the rumours that began circulating not too long ago, fan-favourite (dare we say it: possible Queen in the North) Sophie Turner is not going anywhere.

The actress, who plays Sansa Stark was reportedly being poached from the HBO series to star in Outlander.

The time-travel fantasy romance is a huge hit with fans across the pond and many were speculating she would abandon Westeros in favour of series adapted from Diana Gabaldon’s books.

EW caught up with the actress to settle the rumours once and for all, and many avid TV fans were getting nervous at her silence on the matter.

“Somebody mentioned [the role] to me when I was on a red carpet somewhere, that I’d make a great Brianna, and I think the guy Sam retweeted it or something,” she explained.

“So people started talking like I was in it. I’ve never seen the show. I’m sure it’s great, but I’m loyal to my one true love!”

Phew!

Contractually, series regular actors (such as Sophie) are simply not allowed to take a job that could possibly undermine the series to which they are already attached. So it would have been a slim possibility of Sophie leaving GoT

However, as everyone who loves the series knows, the powers that be at HBO like to keep fans on edge when it comes to which characters will be coming back- ahem, looking at you Jon Snow.

Meanwhile, there has been one GoT actor lined up for a role on Outlander

Clive Russell will be joining the cast for the second series according to the Outlander Facebook page.  He appeared on Season 3 of GoT as Brynden ‘The Blackfish’ Tully. Interestingly, his GoT character is actually related to a current Outlander series regular.

Tobias Menzies (Edmure Tully, also suspiciously absent since Season 3) currently stars in the series and it looks like two will be sharing the screen again.

It really seems to be the year of Amy Schumer!

Her Comedy Central show is better than most to give you a good giggle and her movie Trainwreck was a box office hit.

And how can we forget she is Jennifer Lawrence's new BFF. #squadgoals.

In her new HBO comedy show, Amy Schumer Live at the Apollo, she doesn't shy away from what an amazing year she's had either.

The show will air on October 17 and we have the trailer to show you just how much of a comedy genius she really is.

Directed by Chris Rock, you will not want to miss her live show.

The Game of Thrones season five premiere aired in the US on Sunday night, and unless you managed to stave off sleep and stay up late to watch the first Sky Atlantic showing in the VERY early hours of Monday morning, you probably tuned into the second showing here last night… with the possible addition of the three extra episodes that leaked online.

Through some superhuman feat of will, we avoided Twitter enough yesterday to prevent seeing any spoilers, and we won't include any big ones here in case you haven't gotten around to watching the premiere just yet.

What we have done instead though, is rounded up some of the very best Twitter reactions to the GOT return – and there were a LOT to choose from, for example…

1. A few words from the most patient husband of all time
"Is he yer man from Love/Hate?"

2. The woman who forgot she was still in the office (not Westeros)
An easy mistake to make…

3. This viewer who summed up our feelings on GOT in 140 characters
Hit the nail on the head.

4. That theme tune… give us two weeks and we'll be fast-forwarding again
But right now it's like sweet sweet nectar to our ears.

5. This smarmy fecker generally being a smarmy fecker
Oh just GO AWAY WOULDJA.

6. This wise fan who chose NOT to watch the leaked eps.
Smart…we wish we'd had the same restraint!

7. This viewer who learnt a lot about womankind last night
#lifelessons indeed.

Just before Christmas, HBO treated us ot a teeny tiny teaser of Game of Thrones' upcoming fifth season.

Now the full trailer has been released, and we can't contain ourselves!

US viewers at an IMAX screening of Season 4's last two episodes were given a special surprise at the end when the Season 5 trailer began playing.

Although HBO has not yet released the trailer via their YouTube channel, we reckon that will happen later today. For now, get watching and prepare to get VERY excited.

Winter is coming, people. Set your alarms for April 13th!

I’m kind of sick of talking about Lena Dunham, but you know what? At this stage, she’s unavoidable.

Back in 2012, I read countless reviews, debates and discussions on the subject of Girls both before and after watching it myself. They ranged from the complimentary to the extremely disparaging, but I did get the sense from all of this media buzz that what I was hearing about was a Very Important Show. (The exact same story could be told about the 2014 release of Dunham’s book, Not That Kind of Girl.)

A note on the negativity. I’m struggling to think of one male in my own recent memory to have received such a litany of abuse for simply writing an honest piece of work. This fact in itself is the essence of why the following is my favourite line from NTKOG:

"There is nothing gutsier to me than a person announcing that their story is one that deserves to be told, especially if that person is a woman."

I couldn’t agree more. Lena Dunham has been dismissed by a lot of writers as excessively privileged and thus unrelatable, and this is also visible in the show, but I think there are a lot of key moments and issues raised in Girls that manage to transcend class and culture. The good, the bad, and the downright embarrassing are all there, in plain sight.

A classic scene is the ‘Cos it’s Wednesday night, baby, and I’m alive’ one. Most have us are familiar with it, right? I think there’s something about the utter ridiculousness of this entire episode that we can all identify with a little. Sure, not so many of us will have had that experience while wearing a string vest, high in a Brooklyn warehouse, but it’s somehow relatable nonetheless. That night when you’re out when you shouldn’t be, knowing you have responsibilities tomorrow, straddling the gap between vague maturity and full-on adulthood. It’s refreshingly normal and a bit ugly – the reality that we’re all a little bit irresponsible, after all.

Speaking of responsibility, Hannah’s problems at the beginning of Girls season one are decidedly first-world – her parents take her out to dinner in order to urge her to, well, get a real job. Safe to say that many viewers weren’t exactly crying her a river. With a good dose of perspective, Shoshanna’s terror at finally exiting university, still healing from a breakup and facing into the real world are similarly ridiculous – but it’s a feeling that so many of us have had. Hands up who’s still pretending that they won’t be working 9-5 for the rest of their life?! I know I am.

On that note, it seems to me that a resounding theme throughout the series is fear. Marnie’s fear upon exiting a serious relationship that has dominated her adult life. Adam’s initial phobia of commitment. Hannah’s continuing terror that she’ll never ‘make it’ – and any time she does make any kind of tangible professional progress, she gets impostor syndrome! It’s hard not to relate on some level.

I’ve yet to speak to a female I know who doesn’t like the show. Although the scenes and characters don’t immediately speak to everyone, it’s the ugly underbelly of self-doubt and unease felt by so many of us twenty-somethings that ultimately carries this series, and it’s too painfully honest to ignore.
