Filmmaker Jim Sheridan is in talks with HBO bosses about the prospect of turning his film In America, which deals with the issue of illegal immigration in the States, into a TV series.

He revealed: "It could be HBO, but I don't want to say for definite before we sign the deal.

"I want to tell the story of illegal aliens; the people on the edges of American society. It will focus on the Irish community in the States."

Sheridan believes that TV shows give directors greater scope for creativity than feature films, so it’s no wonder he is eager to get the project going. We hope it goes ahead!

It’s the TV show everybody is talking about – and the TV show all of Hollywood wants to be involved in, even Brad Pitt!

Brad is said to be up for a major role in the show after it was reported that he has “tight relations with HBO.”

Having run a successful first series, HBO are apparently planning the cast for the second series of True Detective.

The series is written by creator Nic Pizzolatto as an anthology series meaning that each series will have different leads and different plots and places.

It had been speculated that the next detectives on the show would both be female but this latest rumour seems to dispel that.

There will certainly be no shortage of Hollywood stars clambering for a place on the show because “the roles are just so exquisite and complex.”

Will they match up to the genius pairing that was Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson though?

It’s official! A spin-off to How I Met Your Mother will be hitting a TV screen near you soon.

Indie film starlet, Greta Gerwig is set to star as Sally, a character described by producers as: “a female Peter Pan who has never grown up and has no idea where she’s going in life.”

The actress will also produce and co-write the show, which apparently will have a style more similar to HBO’s Girls than How I Met Your Mother.

It is thought Sally will play a character similar to Ted Mosby, explaining to her kids how she met their father. However she will also be going through a divorce from a year long marriage at the time.

All we want to know is who is going to play the Barney character!

Well this is a surprising turn of events!

It has been reported than none other than Victoria Beckham has expressed an interest in landing a guest spot on Lena Dunham’s Girls.

And according to Lena, the prospect may not just be a pipe dream of Ms Posh Spice herself.

Speaking with Vanity Fair, the genius behind Girls explained; “I’d love to see Victoria Beckham, like, dress it down a little bit, I love her; she’s very chic and nice.”

Well Lena, if anybody has the power to prise the Louboutins and oversize sunnies from Victoria’s hands, we reckon it’s you. We would LOVE to see Victoria dressed down and au naturel, so here’s hoping it happens!

Victoria Beckham isn’t the only fashion icon that is expected to make a cameo on the show; it was also revealed the president of fashion label J.Crew, Jenna Lyons, is also set to hit our screen on the hit HBO show.

Catch the new series of Girls from the 18th January on Sky Atlantic.
